They should. If you live in a country you should (at least) learn basic conversation. Everything else is respect less. Polish is very difficult in the beginning. But it is more logical than it looks like in the beginning. But you must have motivation to struggle, esp. in the beginning.

not to mention useless as a bag of sand in the desert outside of Poland's borders.

Only in the USA there are about 11 million Polish people. In the UK you can find a lot of Polish speakers. My friend was in London this summer and met a lot of Polish people, and she didn't even look for them.

Which towns, SwedishPole? They look pot ugly and dreary to most people. Of the above, only Augustów really holds any appeal.

Zamosc is also very nice.

There are many ugly towns here also. But they are not uglier than similar towns in the rest of Poland.

And there is a lot of beautiful nature here. As well as in some other parts of Poland.

Ok, to make it 100% clear. I mean people in general.
I would never make a statement that all people in city X are more polite than people in city Y. For example, you are nice and live in Warsaw. And probably there are thousands of others who are nice also. I think you understand what I mean.

I know some black people who had problems in Poland. But it can happen in all countries. Unfortunately the white power culture has grown a lot the last 10 years. But it's the same in almost all of Europe, not only Poland.

Earlier it was high status (or even exotic) being with someone from the "west". But it isn't that in the same way today. Poland got more westernized. And this statement is less true today than earlier.

i have always been told that eastern Poland is so much poorer than the western part. People from the north told me we should be anexed by Ukraine.

It's because most of the biggest cities are in Western or Central Poland. But cities of the same sizes are similar from this point of view in all parts of Poland.

we've got bad roads here (although it's slowly changing) but then i nowhere in southern-eastern Poland saw such poor villages as the ones near Wroclaw or Katowice.

It's the same on the countryside everywhere in Poland.

There is a harshness to some people from Eastern Poland but I also see it here in industrial SW Poland.

Actually I don't find any big differences between People from Eastern part and the rest of Poland. Maybe people from the East have a little hotter temperament. But it's more a matter of personality than geographically origin.

Anyway, one think I can see is that people in Białystok are more polite than people in Warszawa.

One of the best things about Eastern (esp. NE) Poland is that it has the absolutely cleanest air in the country. Compared to SW Poland it's huge difference.

I have noticed people from Warsaw and western and southern Poland are ok but whats wrong with people from Eatern Poland?.

How many people have you met from Eastern Poland? 30, 40, 60, 100, 500?
If you haven't met very many people from Eastern Poland you can't make such generalizations.

I live in Eastern Poland. IMO more than 50% of people say thanks if you hold the door open for them here.

Eastern Poles have some ugly towns and can be quite poor. That makes them hard-nosed brutes but many are just steely and rugged.

How did you come to that conclusion? Towns and countryside are generally poor both in Western and Eastern Poland. It depends much more on the size of the city than the location.

Towns, villages and countryside look very similar from this point of view in whole Poland.

Sandomierz, Przemysl, Jaroslaw, Zamość,Rzeszow

Don't forget Augustów. Cozy small city with beautiful surroundings.

Don't you think the pressure has decreased a little in the last 10-15 years? Of course it depends on where in Poland you live (city/countryside) and what kind of family you are from. These days there are very many young Poles who don't get married before 25.

I've never heard of a Polish girl that feels a pressure to share a man with another girl.

Well...

There are many persons on this forum (and other places as well) who have been speaking to < 10 Polish girls in their whole life, and then they are trying to tell how Polish girls are. The really believe that if you met 10 Polish girls you can tell how all Polish girls are.

It's also interesting to see people who been to Poland < 1 month, telling exactly how Poland and Poles are.

Analytical thinking requires some kind of IQ (if you want it to be accurate).

Its not like 'Either you marry whom I tell you, or you die!'... its just preparing a platform by the people who love you!... A platform which maybe many ppl would love to have themselves.

It's a big difference between suggestion that you can marry a person, and saying that you should marry her/him.

Można = "is it allowed?" or "it's allowed", you can also change to word allowed to possible.

Or:

Można is impersonal and means 'can I?' or 'may I?'

Means basically the same thing. But można can be used wider than this.

You have been together for 2 years. Her behaviour is strange. But sooner or later you must decide if she is the women of your life or not. That's not a decision we can make. Do you think that your relationship is good enough to be permanent? If so, get engaged. If not, let her go.
