News / What should Poland do to solve the population crisis? [101]

No it isn't.

Yes it is and this has been discussed on other threads.
The east of Poland will continue to depopulate rapidly until minimum wage at least doubles or the price of rent, houses and fuel drop by at least half.

My view is that things will continue as they are and Poland will face a massive crises in the future; the main political parties are too busy distracting the masses with irrelevant moral issues, when the problems are truly economic. Poland can't even enforce the rules of the road, never mind standing up to the onslaught of the free-market pirates, and the neo-liberal establishment.

Real Estate / Poland's apartment prices continue to fall [1844]

The government should not interfere with the market and respond to the lobbying of developers to introduce another scam grant.
The market should be allowed to re-correct itself.

News / Poland's Economy Is Booming! The EU's Success Story? [711]

The Polish economy is like a legless war veteran, who after 20 years got the money for an electric wheelchair. Things are improving, but he can hardly be compared or said to be doing a lot better than a man with legs on anti depressants.

envy?

no not at all, I am one of the lucky ones. I'm just emphasizing the fact that people are and can be the victims of circumstance rather than because they are lazy and useless.

that is correct

good that someone agrees

News / Poland's Economy Is Booming! The EU's Success Story? [711]

Pip stop stereotyping the Poles abroad. I never met a Pole in Ireland who wasn't highly educated.
There are plenty of lazy useless people in the world ,who only eventually got ahead because they won or were left money in a will.....

The fact is, Poland is not a booming economy,it just exports its problem, and the money sent home drives the country.
A short term solution with both feet in the boat of the free-market.

News / Poland's Economy Is Booming! The EU's Success Story? [711]

yes, because it is not booming. Ask the millions of Poles abroad is Poland booming. It is a myth to attract investors looking for cheap labor. If Poland was booming it would at least double its minimum wage of 2 euro. If Poland was booming the millions abroad would return.

Is the level of education in Poland much lower than the government claims? Pawian, can you comment on this, please?

Excellent post. Nothing as annoying as hearing all this crap about Poland booming; blatant propaganda by the industrialist, and a blatant lie. How could an EU country be booming with a minimum wage of 2 euros an hour. Millions of Poles are all over Ireland , UK , Germany, Netherlands,USA etc etc. Why would this be if the country was booming??

Real Estate / Poland's apartment prices continue to fall [1844]

For example, in Q3 2011 in Warsaw, nearly 90% of all units on offer were available for purchase within the 'Family on Its Own'. The current price limit means that only about 9% of the market offer could benefit from the subsidy" says Katarzyna Kuniewicz.

That's even higher than I thought.

average fall through out the country for March was just 0.4%

Life / Poland needs more immigrants and their children - which nationalities are the best? [518]

Poland will become multicultural the way it is going, but only with people from poorer Slavic countries. Poles go west and Non EU Slav(e)s will go west(or as far as they can get) to Poland. Each will have their wages quadrupled. But, in general the Polish population will continue shrinking until elsewhere becomes just as sh1tty. Poland is still too grey for the young.

One sure sign of a bubble is people saying this time the normal rules don't apply.

exactly heard that soooooooooooooooo many time in Ireland. with some it's just plain stupidity and with others 'spin'.
Ireland is different with all its ghost estates, but at least wages tripled in Ireland;in Poland the bubble wasn't even based on Polish wages.(sorry for making this point a 100 times)Entirely driven by the billions flooding in from abroad .

Well I suppose it was a bit of a stupid statement. But there is no gun to people head, they don't have to follow the thread,,and! if you(w) don't care about the prices of housing why look at the thread in the first place.

Anyhow, results for the first quarter are quite clear.
