Surveys never count every thing, they are based on a sample in this case a very large sample.

One of the odd quirks of them, at least in my experience, is the credit doesn't expire when it should,

Thats the same as Heyah. Also, my voice credit expired and months later I'm still using data.

I've given up on restaurants providing what they say on the menu. Fish is a problem, I don't think I've ever got Sea Bass, its sea bream every time (costs half the price but they charge the same for it which is a give away).

I once ordered Chicken and Thai basil and got no Basil. They sold out by Friday and still found it acceptable to serve a dish without its main ingredient..

Magda Gessler did an episode on "Kuchenne Rewolucje" about the place (Koh Samui) - maybe they have cleaned up their act. Poland's restaurants need her .

If you decide to stay, you can marry an american citizen which is the quickest way to citizenship or wait till you are there for 5 years and apply for citizenship then. Whether you go single or with a family, citizenship is no more than 5 years away if the USA is where you decide to live.

Doesn't look viable to me or most people. The general feeling is that emigrating to the USA is basically impossible unless you go there illegally and therefore pointless.

Sorry, America is not a place to go to if you are a professional/qualified as you have no long term right to stay.

Buy a house while working there? forget it. Investing in America would be a disaster if you get kicked out or had to leave at the end of your visa.

Waiting for a bus today I was counting flash cars - I know this is a big city and I shouldn't wonder such things, but I saw brand new cars and very expensive Mercs driven by young women.

Lots of people up to their neck in debt. Doesn't mean they are wealthy, could mean a lot of bank owned cars. Mind you you need a job to get a loan.

Polish housing market faces slowdown

Some 23 percent fewer apartments were sold in Q2 than a year earlier

Real estate developers listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange sold approximately 1,500 apartments in the second quarter of the year, reported Parkiet. That's a 23 percent decrease compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, and a 19.6 percent decrease compared to the first quarter of 2012.

The reasons for such a significant slump include the mess associated with the entry into force of the Developers' Act, cuts to the Family on its Own mortgage-subsidy program, and a decline in banks' willingness to lend money.

According to analysts, the situation might improve slightly in the second half of the year

The Gdańsk Shipyard is looking for qualified workers including welders and fitters to fill 600 vacancies, reported Gazeta Wyborcza.

"The yard is going to be the best-paying employer in the shipping industry in this region," said Arkadiusz Aszyk, board member of the Gdańsk Shipyard.

The REAS reports seems to have accurate figures. residentialadvisors.eu

Q2 report will probably come out in a couple of weeks, I'll just say that asking prices in central Krakow have fallen substantially this year.

That can be seen in the Black population in the UK. Low housing costs means money for cars is available, afro-Caribbeans often live in council property which is cheap.

Polands property market is driven by speculators who live here and are asset rich and debt free. The UK was driven by low interest rates used as stimulation after the dot com boom crashed.

If interest rates come down and lending criteria eases in Poland prices will rocket. However, Jan Vincent-Rostowski is no fool and should prevent that happening otherwise Poland will end up like Ireland.

so ... maybe, maybe not.

Poland's LGBT community may soon finally receive protection against hate speech crimes as the result of a new amendment to Poland's penal code that Civic Platform (PO) plans to submit to parliament early this month.

The code currently penalizes hate speech motivated by race, ethnicity or nationality. Those found guilty can face punishments from a fine to as much as two years in prison.

The proposed amendment will extend categories that qualify for protection under the code to include "natural characteristics" such as sexual orientation, sex, disabilities and health conditions,said PO MP Mariusz Witczak in a statement.

I'd ignore that website, its a real estate web site (biased) and its shows asking prices. To put that in context Rightmove in the Uk has average asking prices of £246k.

Whereas average selling price is £165k. Thats a lot of bullshit.

. if there is a 50 year old with 5 o levels and a 25 year old with 12 gcse 'a' plus's i know who'd i take on.

They are educated to the same level, so experience would count more. We are talking the about between GCSE and degree level, which is a massive difference.

Polish PMI shows bleak prospects for manufacturing sector

Polish Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) fell for the third consecutive month in June to 48.0 from 48.9 in May. The reading was its weakest level in 35 months.

Data from the survey shows a decline in both output and purchases of inputs, said HSBC, linking the contraction to a weakening of domestic and export demand. The rate of decline of input orders recorded last month was the fastest in three years.

"The pace of output contraction deepened in June to levels last seen in mid-09 in line with deteriorating new orders."

Polish hotels rake in high profits from Euro 2012 fans

Poland's western city of Wroclaw, one of the host cities of the Euro 2012 football tournament, enjoyed the highest occupancy ratio in its hotels (92%) among other host cities, the daily Rzeczpospolita reports citing data by the industry website e-hotelarstwo.com.

Poznan, on the other hand, enjoyed the highest revenues per room of EUR 178.8, while room prices during the tournament were the highest in Gdansk, amounting to over EUR 220, twice as high as usual, a report by research firm STR Global showed.

No amount of education can provide university educated idiot with commonsense.

True. However, when an employer looks to employ or promote someone they will choose a university educated person over the un-educated one almost every time. Without a degree you are limited.
