I would say that any member of NATO is U.S.A's ally on paper. Yet Poland has shown greater sense of alliance then other countries in Europe making her a: ********** dog, ***** or anything along that line

BUT you gotta remember as there is a VISA problem for many Poles who wants to come to the USA, the people start to feel resentful or at least not the same as before considering U.S.A

But I can clearly say Poland is a lot more pro-American then other countries in Europe

While Poland (until now I think) thought of having U.S.A protection would serve Poland's national interests best as they don't get scared of protecting their "byt"

I could agree somebody would make a stand or show some solidarity at the point of Czechoslovakia since they were a democracy. While Poland had a known reputation of being pain in the ass for global powers, while the murder of Jews didn't start an mass until 1941 (not to anger Soviet Union lol) also if anyone knew about the holocaust it was only few important figures in U.K and U.S.A as both said that this problem can't be dealt with until the end of the war. So I can't understand that anyone felt any moral obligation to declare war upon NAZI Germany at that time. As most of the countries that were in the Allied camp joined it as an result of being attacked. The reason why countries like South Africa or Australia joined the war was to support U.K. I can't really remember any nation declaring war towards Germany because of moral obligations.

It's easy to say that now as time has past but, at those times nobody knew of the holocaust except those who was experiencing it every day or those who were informed of it.

1. Poland is independent
2. Quite good economy (comparing to second Republic)
3. No huge problems with ethnic groups (was a tiresome problem in second Republic)
4. Russia is "blocked" by other "independent" countries
5. Germany isn't NAZI controlled and have no plans for destroying the Polish language or nation (THIS IS A HUGE STEP :D)
6. Poland leads the way as protector of "eastern" Europe in the EU

They would been dissapointed
1. There are few Poles today in Poland and plenty travel out-broad without coming back again
2. Poland's ties with certain countries as Hungary, Italy or France isn't that huge as it was
3. "What on earth are they wearing?!"
4. Certain Polish cities aren't in Poland

It's not my personal opinion I just said what most Norwegians I meet thinks of first when thinking of Poles, the only contact they get with Poles are Polish workers so it's not really that weird.
