UK, Ireland / Why English do not like Polish? [417]

Not in Britain:

That's a Friesian. Not a Fresian. Not a Frisian. Friesian. (Not even mentioning that it's probably not even a West-Fresian!)

UK, Ireland / Why English do not like Polish? [417]

Well if we gonna start to talk language, culture etc etc then you can include the whole Europe, instead of just saying Western europe bla bla...

I agree.

Tired of people who are so uneducated and still use the political form "western" "eastern" europe that dissapeared in the late 80's.

Uneducated? I think you're mistaking me for someone else there. I'm only throwing around certain terminology since so many people here obviously like to emphasize all the so-called differences between us, probably in some vain attempt to prove they're so much better or something. I don't have that inferiority complex, so it would be very nice if you could get over yours aswell.

:)

I thought Fresians were cows, A J ;) ;)

You mean horses.

Love / Are Polish men dominating, controlling and emotional? [36]

Are Polish men dominating, controlling and emotional?

youtube.com/watch?v=yDKpeHgdcic

No, but I am. Not at all possessive, jealous or controlling though. Not too emotional either, maybe sometimes! Hey, I'm clearly her superior in each and every way possible, but I will never treat a woman as my lesser. I guess that's what you get when you call me sexist when I'm just trying to be friendly, cheeky and flirty; More macho talk then. (Are you going to say sorry yet?) Edit: No, of course this wasn't directed at you, or anyone else in particular!

;P ;P ;P

Not emotional of course!

History / Was there sex in Poland during communist regime? [60]

IMHO, for healthy people sex or love is a thing to make (do), not to discuss.

Nonsense. It's a positive thing to discuss sex and all related issues, because people can learn a great deal about themselves that way. It may help quite a few people to overcome their shame, their issues or even their insecurities. You may actually find out you're pretty normal.

Law / Investors/Entrepreneurs.. Steer Clear of Poland. [77]

I guess what they say about all the "good workers are in other countries" is true. It has been a real PITA to find good workers.

I thought those Polish guys were supposed to be such hard workers? I mean, compared to those lazy Western European guys?

;P

why?

I don't know, but you're the one who says she has never met a Dutch guy who has been rude to her.

You can be rude to me in English:)

Now why would I want to do that? You'll have to give me a reason..

Love / Advice Please! Meeting my Polish boyfriend's parents!! Gifts, customs... [105]

if the father drinks vodka with you, you can't say no, but don't get too drunk so you won't do any crazy stupid things, or say anything you regret the next day

Yeah, or her dad might pass out after three bottles of Wódka, and think you wouldn't be a very good husband for his daughter the next morning, when he tells you that he thinks you drink too much..

Life / What's the spiritual atmosphere like in Poland these days? [12]

Is it possible to find people practicing Buddhism, or other non-church based spiritualities?

Yes, you can find quite a few men and women who practice Sexism. If that's not your thing, I recommend Pacifism.

UK, Ireland / The slow, whiny death of British Christianity [86]

I have seen the light!

I: You shall develop a sense of humour.
II: You shall treat others as if they are your own flesh and blood.
III: You shall make love, not war.
IV: You shall try to share that which you have in abundance with those who haven't.
V: You shall never judge or condemn yourself, or someone else for a thought or an opinion.
VI: You shall try to help the one who steals from you to a job.
VII: You shall appreciate good food, alcohol, music, sports, literature, humour, videogames, films, theatre, art, poetry, soft-drugs and lots of sex.
VIII: You shall try to make atleast one person smile every day.
IX: You shall stop talking to dead people, and start talking to eachother.
X: You shall treat your lesser with the same respect as your superiour.
XI: You shall never speak on my behalf, and not answer any questions to which you don't know the answer.
XII: You shall not harm anyone who isn't harming you.
XIII: You shall shave your pubic hairs.

Super-Amen.

UK, Ireland / Why English do not like Polish? [417]

Same goes for England... English people today are problably more related to India then to Germany due to the fact that germans never been mingling with the brits.

Just look at our languages and compare. Plenty of Fresians, Germans and Norwegians moved to the Island. If you go back far enough, you'd see that the Island was attached to the mainland once. Genetics change all the time, but with closely related I also mean culture, language and customs. I'd say I have a lot in common with people from all the countries I've mentioned earlier.

The Irish and Scots went there too..

How about New York? (New Amsterdam.) I'd say most white Americans have North-Western European heritage. Shortly before and after the second worldwar a lot of Jewish and Polish people emigrated to America aswell. Today, people from all corners of the world travel around and settle down just about anywhere, so I guess those maps about genetics don't prove *that* much. Our demographics are constantly changing, but modern humans basically all share the same ancestors.

That map only shows you one cline of genes which is a subgroup. A result of the spread of agriculture in Neolithic times.

But to answer your question; With North-West Europe I probably mean Iceland, Scotland, England, Ireland, Normandy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

I did not mention anything about them.... You did.

Maybe you should read up on genetics a little, because humanity seems to be one big family, and since you were bashing English women..

;)

13.0% of the total U.S. population does have British ancestry.

Yes, and how many Americans have Western-European ancestry? You should know that all North-Western European people are closely related, genetically speaking.

British or brittish W/E

Alternative spelling.

The post you made about my sisters just shows your conversation level ;)

Ah, but you were talking about your sisters in a derogatory manner, not me.

;)

I know he's from America, but i bet he is one of those with english ancestry.

Oh really? And just how many people in America do you think have English ancestors? Hmm? (You guys probably speak English for a reason, but hey, it could be me who just doesn't get it!)

He really looks brittish ;)

You sure do make the same spelling mistakes as her.

I'm allergic to flirting and know nothing about Dutch guys. I will attempt to rip your balls off if you ask me out for a beer. I have pepperspray!

Note to self: Have no mercy on her today.

;P

did I say I would not like it?

Hint: If a Dutch guy seems rude towards you, be rude in return. It's fun.

;)

(loves anything Dutch, familiar with queer culture;)

Slimer.

Why do you have to start to be personal? Ain't personal attacks illegal on this forum?

You'd call that personal? Jeez, I never knew you were *that* sensitive. (Sorry babe!)

xD

Yea srry i forgot to mention that 50% of your population are GINGERRRRRS!!!!!

I probably shouldn't tell you the guy in the video is an American. That would be mean.

I have been remiss of late in mentioning the huge contribution made on here by AJ, Arien and probably under countless other user names.

Yes. I'm every person on this board, except you. (I'm also Admin, but don't tell anyone.)

xD

It is often the case that we fail to sing about the real heroes, the likes of AJ. He is always there to lend a sympathetic ear, to smooth over troubled waters.

''There is no spoon.''

All round good egg, despite being a Cloggie.

Scrambled, not stirred.

I wonder what will happen to you when a huge number of people will provide a language consultancy service for less than half the price you're asking. I'm sure there will always be people who fit your description perfectly, but to say that the Polish people have made the English people look bad would be taking it a few bridges too far for me. There are plenty of English people who have always worked hard, and maybe someone should tell you that they've also paid taxes which made your study possible. You know what they say about a tree without roots..

UK, Ireland / The slow, whiny death of British Christianity [86]

I've known plenty of Christian employers who claimed to worship Jesus. Well, one thing's for sure, they do force their own personnel to live like Jesus.

xD
