Food / Polish Eating Habits [87]

I never really understood people who go on diets. I know plenty of girls who are in amazing shape, and have been for some while, who all of the sudden want to diet and excercise. While there's nothing wrong with that....I just never understood it because a good part of my childhood I spent my time wondering why I couldn't gain weight no matter how much I ate. Then I hit the gym and started eating 30 times a day... :]

Food / Polish Eating Habits [87]

Just blame it on a bad metabolism.

Aren't there pills or some kind of procedure that can speed up a person's metabilism? I heard somewhere that there was a way to do it???

Hmm...

A lot of it is hereditary...something you can't really help.

+ we all love our beer!

Wodka was a gift from God....Why should we treat it like anything else?

Love / I fancy a polish girl from my school! [139]

Better to speak your mind early, and then work towards the goal, instead of working toward a goal and making her guess what that goal is. (goal = sex)

:D

USA, Canada / Polish Citizen, US legal resident, but no Polish Passport... [67]

Well I'm not sure if I have to "renew" it, but something has to be done with it, that's all I know. I am a legal citizen of both the US and Poland, but I have to go to Polish consulate and get some papers signed and what not.

It is very hard to accomplish anything with a polish consulate. It's a joke. Forget about returning a call...and they are supposed to take care about polish citizens abroad. Ha!

Yeah. I have to renew my Polish citizenship. I plan on living in Poland someday. Career in architecture but I'll give football a try first.

It's all worth it if I can make an honest living where my family lives.

History / Unusual soldier (The bear - named Voytek) [71]

Apparently it's cold there, like the hearts of both British and Polish people!

Someone's gotta start a new trend, right?

Dobranoc osiol :]

History / Unusual soldier (The bear - named Voytek) [71]

It's a shame he's not around any more - bears just don't live long enough.

He's like a Polish Balto...but a bear and not a dog...

History / Unusual soldier (The bear - named Voytek) [71]

"He liked a cigarette, he liked a bottle of beer - he drank a bottle of beer like any man."

Only the Polish would think that a bear just wanted a cig...

:]

This story is awesome. I want to buy the book. As soon as it hits the shelves let me know. :]

Food / Why carp for Polish Christmas? [157]

Don't know. But think about it. Everything was started by one guy/girl, usually considered crazy by his/her peers.

Who was the first person to go up to a cow and say, "Hey, let's pull on those dangly things and drink what comes out."

Why do we still drink the milk? We're drinking a liquid produced by a fat animal's nipples.

Why carp for Polish Christmas?

Tradition. Someone started it, others felt like keeping it going. It just spread from there :]

News / Poland - Third World Country?? [300]

South Africa is considered to be one of those 'Third World Countries' too.

But that's like the difference between cities like Pittsburgh and Compton. All countries have cities that look worse than others. In the states, we have ghettos - areas with high pollution, high unemployment rates, and pretty much crack houses.

History / Kosciuszko Squadron - why don't they bring it back? [45]

This book is my favorite ever. I loved every minute of it and I think it should definitely be made into a movie. Hopefully someone with some cash can do a cinematic debut some justice. I'm just praying someone like Spielberg or Clint Eastwood reads this book some time soon.

Life / What is the reason for POLISH jokes ? [486]

I don't know how true that is.

They didn't know how to read or write in English. They could read and write perfectly in Polish, in most cases, but sadly many (not all) Americans think that if you can't do something the American way you are stupid.

You have no idea how much $hit I get from people because my name is not spelled the English way. They think my parents were retarded, but then after I explain everything they feel retarded because they just then realised that not everyone in the world speaks English.

how Polish have small penises

They get that because of the evil Smith's company. They created "lil smokies" and suddenly everyone from Poland eats small sausage and has a small penis. Throw down some sausage straight from the home country and they don't know wtf it is.

Ha, that's easily disproved.

Too true...

Most jokes about Polish people started as war propaganda. Nazis started saying Poles were stupid and etc. Then one time we charged tanks with horses and swords according to some idiots.
