Work / International House - Kracow school - any chances of being offered a job there [59]

There are a few good schools in Krakow, but the pay is getting less and less. Most teachers i know earn around 1500pln - 2000pln. Because of the amount of Natives here who only want to work a few hours a week, schools can get away with paying peanuts. Considering the average rent for a 1 bedroom flat is around 1500, it can be hard going.

Life / Polish people and racism. [943]

The amount of gays that spread greatly affects Poland's birth rate and hinders the mother+father+children family status!

Geeez, probarly the greatest, most stupid thing anyone on the forums has ever said.

So you are imlying poles have more disposable income ? if they do why are there two million of them in britain.

Well from my income here, 19% goes to taxes. the rest i have myself, almost 500quid a month to spend on whatever i want....oh poor little part-timer....cant you afford a holiday?

India itself is a country that contributed greatly throught the creation of the british empire, thus its historical effect is still felt today.

Im not disagreeing with you, but baby, this is the "new world" and sadly the British Empire sank itself.

Another point i will make on edit, how do you feel about getting paid less in Glasgow than London?

I worte an article on the violent culture which is in Glasgow. Basically started after the world wars, when the ship building died off. People hard a stark decision to make, leave a city that couldnt provide the jobs, or stay in their homes and turn to crime. The sad part is that this culture has sustained, and i lived the life with "those" people in Govan, paisley, and even worse, Renfrew. And that is the supposed Good West side of the city.

EDIT; not many people know that Glasgow is a very young city. 400 years ago it was a village.

Do you really think oles could afford to holiday in britain ?

Probarly more than the average Brit can afford a holiday abroad.

Poles are white like me

Being white does not excuse stupid, racist's behaviour.....you are a racist.

The reason that britain has a minimum wage is because in the past emloyers were made to pay a fair wage. Mass immigration undermines this. and had the polish invasion been 20 years ago we would never have had a minimum wage.

Um sorry, didn't they say the same thing 40 years ago with Indians, but now there an accepted( to a limit) part of our culture.

The standard of living in britain previously raised because if no one did the work then employers had to increase wages so that people would accept the jobs and not work like slaves. Again polish immigration has undermined this.

Sorry, your from Glasgow, which currently has the worst unemployment record in the UK. Sorry, if Glaswegians can't be assed doing the jobs, and will happily sit in their coucil houses accepting benefits, i'd prefer having hard working Poles doing the job.

Here's a good tip for anyone coming to the UK. Each year work for a few months, untill you earn about 5000. Then you can claim back all the taxes you have paid;) and bring it all back to Poland...woohoo!

The group of men shown in the video were defending the british working class from poles undercutting wages, lowering the british standard of living, and the siphoning of cash paid by british taxpayers.

Proper proud British democracy, remove cock-ring from your head tw-at features!

Work / Average monthly salary in Poland is around 1000 PLN (few hundred bucks). [387]

if someone earns 3,000 PLN gross per month

That will do you fine in Krakow, during the summer i only work part time, and 3000 is easily enough to see me through each month. Average Teacher will earn about 3000 before making extra's through private lessons. You can live comfortable on 250 a week if you need too.

History / "Poland's Concentration Camp" ?? [570]

This is absolutely incorrect.

Well no, since its the name which most Poles call it, and sorry, but the local transport services call it too, even the tourist buses. Auschwitz is the German name for it, again i ask, what was the name of the barracks before?

History / "Poland's Concentration Camp" ?? [570]

Confuses me too, as it was the Germans who named the place Auschwitz, but the Poles seem to only want to call the place by the name of the town its located, Oswiecim.

Seems very strange why someone would want the claim to fame with such a place. Im not a history buff, but what was the name of the barracks before the Germans took over?

Though i visited again on Friday, something is wrong with the place, its lost its "meaning" and now became nothing more than a tourist attraction.

Work / Salary expectations in Poland [373]

ok i will ask a couple of guys who might know people in that sector. Though if you earn above 5k, you will live a very comfortable life. I always eat out, spend my weekends on hoildays around Poland and always manage to save. For a top of the range 1 bedroom flat you pay around 1.5k, bills are maybe 500pln a month, So you will have plenty of spare cash, trust me;)

IT, my friend who is now in Poznan earns the same as he did in Ireland. In krakow above 4k will guarantee a good class of living.

Is 6719 PLN a good salary in Krakow?

Sounds enough for me, usually i take home about 5k and live comfortably on that. Some months when ive been on holiday i take home half of that and still have no problems. Depends if your shrewed with your cash or. From what ive been told by my students average is about 1500, and they seem to get by no problem.
