Work / Typical Post - A good salary in Rybnik - 3000 for part time in finance? [16]

My main concern was to make sure we have enough for the essentials plus the above activities.

It seems to be enough for the lifestyle you describe. But it's not much, as I think that everybody should save 1/3 of their income and if you count that in, then not much is left. But if it's temporary state, when you don't have to save, because you have saved a lot in the past (you write that have cash for buying apartment), then it should be ok.

Work / Typical Post - A good salary in Rybnik - 3000 for part time in finance? [16]

In 2012 average salary in Rybnik was 3353zł gross (2300 net). Usually anything above average is good, as most of people earn less than average. But it doesn't mean that this salary allows for a comfortable live, especially for somebody used to the western standards.

Work / Salary in Gdansk at a multinational Company, junior position, with Hungarian language [7]

What do you think is it enough to survive a month?

It's definitely enough, especially if you want to share an apartment. To realize what this money are worth in Gdańsk look here:
numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=Hungary&city1=Budapest&country2=Poland&city2=Gdansk&displayCurrency=EUR

As JollyRomek wrote it's OK salary for Hungarian speaker, as it's not the best payed language in Polish BPOs.

Work / Salary for a senior software engineer in Poland [195]

You are right, except that the average salary of a programmer in Poland is closer to 7000 pln per month and this 12000 is only average from few top cities and top companies.

Work / Salary for a senior software engineer in Poland [195]

People in Poland leave with 4000PLN net for a family of 3, but it's quite poor live. No going out, 60m2 apartment. If you want to live comfortable and send your child to English private school then you need much more than that (at least double)

Law / Permanent Residence in Polska: procedures, list of documents, etc. [59]

Sorry Monitor! but that info is for nationals of non-EU countries and i am EU citizen married to a Polish.

In that case here you have information in Polish:
malopolska.uw.gov.pl/default.aspx?page=staly_pobyt_obywateli_UE

And they write there that 5 years of work with max 6months break is necessary, except if somebody is spouse of Polish citizen (as Sobieski). And in required documents I don't see any proof of work. Could you tell me what's the point of getting this permit for EU citizen?

Work / Multinational companies in Warsaw [7]

I am afraid that you would need to know Polish language too and as you have noticed business with Russia is deteriorating now and companies are not searching for new people with Russian language and market knowledge. Not only in Thailand. But you can take a look at these job adds, maybe you will find something suitable for you:

And meanwhile start sending letters to Putin with complains.

Work / 2000 zloty in Katowice as a teacher - worth moving there? [33]

Monitor, Where exactly did you read that all Canadian citizens arevrich country?

I am just noting that minimum salary (or simply lowest salary earned by 10% of population) in rich countries like Canada allow for poor, but decent live, but in less successful countries it often doesn't allow to buy enough food and pay the rent.

Work / Salary for a senior software engineer in Poland [195]

12000 brutto is 8400 netto PLN or 2286 USD. As far as I know Dubai has much lower taxes, but there is know way that you will survive on 286USD in order to save 2000 USD per month :D

Law / I got an EU permanent residence permit and it is a flimsy piece of paper [26]

This is just because Poland as a whole is still completely unfamiliar with the concept of the national ID card being acceptable for EU travel - witness how many of them still take a passport to places like Germany!

Delphiandomine here was not right, as I live in one of the biggest German cities and witnessed many times post clerks unwilling to accept EU id card. One was even complaining that my Polish password has Polish characters which he doesn't know how to write down (ć, ń, ó, ś, ź).

But it's partly understandable, because in Germany they have system of writing German characters with combination of 2 Latin characters (Ä, Ö, Ü, ä, ö, ü can be transcribed as Ae, Oe, Ue, ae, oe, ue).

And variety of EU Id cards is stunning, so it's hard to require from every clerk in EU to know all possible combinations. IMHO it should be unified, for example look at Italian Id:

Or Greek:

Finish is more similar to German or Polish, but still layout is quite different:

Work / Salary: 24,000zl a month - how much I will I have after tax in Poland? [29]

just check online calculator: wynagrodzenia.pl
24,000 gross per month gives 16,790PLN net. But you will be probably one of few people in Poland who earn this much and work with Umowa o pracę. If you were employed with Umowa o dzieło, then you will be getting 20,500 net. Usually people earning this much do combinations, like minimum salary Umowa o pracę and rest with Umowa o dzieło or are employed as subcontractors.

Australia / Have you moved from Australia to Poland? please share your opinion... [43]

So is the Government doing anything about this to put Peace in the region?

I agree with JollyRomek. Chances of Russian-Ukrainian conflict to seriously affect Poland are rather small. You can see that this is a general perception, because people and capital are not fleeing Poland. If they were thinking that there is a big risk, then PLN would be going down to EUR, because everybody would try to sell what they have in Poland.

Polish government cannot do much about this conflict, because Poland is too small. But French and Germans are trying to make a peace. For example yesterday night:

Poland has free education, so if you're ready to send your children to a Polish language public school, then you nearly don't have to pay anything. Usually children repeat one year in order to learn the language. You could move into a neighborhood next to a good school, because children are assigned to the nearest public school from where they live.

Life / Warsaw M2 line? Will it ever run? [8]

It was supposed to be ready and opened few months ago, so it will be probably ready in this year, maximum few years later, because I haven't heard about any serious problems. Your colleges know that dates of finishing major constructions are rarely kept.

Work / SAP Consultant Salaries in Warsaw, Poland. [16]

Translate yourself this salary ranking:
outsourcingportal.pl/pl/userfiles/image/raporty/2015/2/2/raport_placowy2015_s.pdf

You can see there min, max, avg salaries from Hays recruitment company, so what they describe there as Min. is actually maximum in smaller companies or out of the biggest cities. In other words there is written:

SAP Consultant min: 9 000 max: 20 000 median: 13 000

You can understand this, that 13 000 is an average salary in top international (cause these pay usually more) companies in Poland.

Work / Salary for Business Internship Position in Poland? [16]

It seems as if another person was paid $3000 ZL Gross for a job at IBM which is a similar type of company I am talking with.

Programmers earn on average 2 x more than other professions in Poland, so if you are not a programmer, then it doesn't matter that you apply to a similar company. Also he couldn't have been an intern. Anyway just write here their reaction.
