If you moved from AU to Poland please share your opinion about that move.

Hi Kaskal, I have moved from Aus to PL in 2012. What was supposed to be a year holiday visiting family and traveling Poland/Europe turned into a permanent move. Long story short, met a girl within the first 3 months of my arrival, fell in love and now we have a 6 month old baby daughter. I couldn't be happier :)

As I'm writing this I'm in Australia right now for a 3 month holiday with my partner and daughter.

Have you Kaskal made the move? What are your experiences?

As for my opinion, having lived in Australia all my life to moving to Poland was a huge change. I find that the government could do a far better job to help the less fortunate, customer service is non existent in most places and Polish people tend to take too much pleasure in discussing other peoples lives when they should deal with their own :)

It's a beautiful country full of history, women are beautiful, food is awesome, beer is good. Once you build friendships Polish people are the best of friends that will do everything. If you have a decent sized bank account in Aus that helps a lot and you will find your dollar here will get you a long way :)

By the way I live in Płock which I a very beautiful town.

Hi, I have read your coment about moving from Aus to PL, sound interesting. I am about to do the same but am hesident of doing it, been visiting Pland a lot but never had the guts to do it :) got most of my husbands family overthere. How did you cope with the change? and life style? No beach etc..

What about the Poland's Baltyk Sea ;) True, it's cold, but 2-3 months in a year you cannot complain.

I know, its beautiful as well. I do love the Polish arichitecture and old town citys. So amazing definetly you dont get that in Australia just sand and very hot sun, where you cant enjoy it that much cos its way to hot...

Please dont compare that to wollongong beach.The water is dirty and not worth to swim in it,the fact.(I meant the baltic coast in Poland esp at sopot)

Its a great place to live if you speak the language or sometimes gets harsher to do your chores and people do tend to decide for you.Investment returns are still great,particularly with very low property taxes and income tax dont know for how long but surely for couple of decades as they will have problem with seniors paying heavy property taxes like in australlia or states.If you have a steady income and place to live you will do just fine with kids.Its a very safe country like any other western country with brand new infrastructure.

Sounds interesting, So why dont you just live in PL? Sounds like you do like the country. Or is there more opportunities in US?

Cuz in our age and stage we are in no mood to work and live of healthy investments and kids who are settled in states.Even if we had to work we rather make money in $$ then pln.So we enjoy both the continents and dont plan to settle in one.Europe has its own charm in cpl of hrs you can be in a different world,new language,new customs etc which we lack mostly in states.

If you don't speak Polish, I'd strongly suggest learning it before you move here.


If you're willing to work hard, you can do well here. If you're a chancer or a scam artist, you'll be quickly exposed as one; after that you'll learn the hard way that Polish cities tend to be rather like small villages.


Do your kids speak fluent Polish? If not, how do you plan to earn the 80,000zl per child that a good English-language only school is going to charge?

Hi Harry, thanks for pointing that straight out. I dont know Polish language and I've tought my kids Polish as well. But would definitely want them to keep their English. Are you serious thats how much you spend on School?

Can you proove that? This is the school fee for a ranney pvt school in nj,usa where bon jovis daughter was educated.

You do know Polish? Or you don't know Polish?

80,000zl per year per kid is what you'll pay for a good English-language only school. There are cheaper options but you get what you pay for (e.g. in a good school all the teachers are fully qualified, in cheaper ones they aren't). Personally my step-daughter goes to a state-assisted private school (Polish language classes) which is about a quarter of the price of a good English-language only school.

You quote fees from a different school. The American School of Warsaw charges $11,880 plus41,000PLN for grades 11-12. Try to quote correctly instead of making me out to be a liar.

Since you live in US, what is your opinion with the Ukrainian Crisis? Do you still think its safe to move to Poland with all thats happening with Russia?

For those who are very slow at maths: 32,300 + 24,300 + 24,300 = 80,900.

Is it only the last two years? No

So the average for the last four years is over 80,000 per year.


As I said above, at a good school all of the teachers are fully qualified, but there are cheaper alternatives for those who can't afford good things. Are you now pretending to be an educational consultant, pigsy?


It's at least as safe as it was 20 years ago.

Poland has free education, so if you're ready to send your children to a Polish language public school, then you nearly don't have to pay anything. Usually children repeat one year in order to learn the language. You could move into a neighborhood next to a good school, because children are assigned to the nearest public school from where they live.

Read at the top its discounted fee one you mentioned is full fee but if you ask they discount it.
