Love / Urgent Relationship help - wife wants to stay in Poland [118]

I have lived in Poland, but couldnt find a job (didnt want to teach english, so had no money really) and earn £2k a month in the UK now. I found the language too difficult and I found her family too suffocating (like we had to do everything with them, and not alone). So I told her I cant live in Poland anymore, that is non-negotiable. She doesnt want to move to the UK to be "just a pole".

Last year I sent over 75,000zl but still not enough.

Just dont know what to do anymore, as anytime I give her an ultimatum its a threat, or "how can you do this to the kids?" etc

Love / Urgent Relationship help - wife wants to stay in Poland [118]

I married a polish lady 10 years ago. We have 2 kids. At the moment, I am living in the UK (I am British, limited polish) she is living in Poland (fluent english). I have done this to earn more money. I have told her to move to the UK, but the only reason seems for her to stay in POL is her job (salary 2500zl netto). I send over between 5000zl-6000zl every month to support the household, but never seems to go anywhere.

I have pointed out the pros and cons of living in the UK, but she doesnt want to listen or change. I feel we are heading for divorce.

I feel I am sending a lot of money over, which doesnt go anywhere, as although rent etc is cheaper in poland, all the other stuff adds up like nursery fees, doctors, medication which are covered in the Uk, alongside the chance she would earn more.

Any advice much appreciated, as I'm nearly at the end of the road.

Law / Buying an English Plated Car in Poland [2]

I live in Poland. I want to get my wife a small car. I have seen English plated cars in Poland for sale (bit of a discount to Polish cars, understandably). I plan to buy one, and continue it as a RHD car, but have polish plates on it. Any downsides to this? Will insurance be expensive?

P.s. I drive a UK plated RHD car at the moment (go back to the UK for MOT every year), and not had a problem on polish roads.

Law / Polish wife in the UK cheated on me. Divorce - what now of the kids? [15]

I believe, correct me if i'm wrong, but it will be cheaper for you to get divorced in Poland. The UK laws will give 50% to your wife plus ongoing financial support, I dont think the polish courts are so onerous. You can get divorced in any country though.

Real Estate / Earn UK income, live in Poland, any chance of a mortgage? [3]

I currently receive approx £3k a month, in £. I own a recruitment business in the UK. My wife (polish) and I (British) live in Poland and would like to buy a property. We currently rent.

We went to mBank, who basically said "no chance".

Is there any way (outside the box) we can buy a property here with a mortgage from a polish bank?

UK, Ireland / Getting an S1 certificate from the UK for healthcare in poland [10]

they just register you as self employed in the UK

Whats the point of that? Couldnt you just do that yourself? or are they just navigating the system for you. I had a look at the S1 form, its 4 pages long too.

UK, Ireland / Getting an S1 certificate from the UK for healthcare in poland [10]

Has anyone got one of these? If so, how long did it take?

On a similiar point,

I have read about "optymalizacja zus" companies in the UK, where you can get reduced zus by paying NI contributions in the UK. Anyone done this to?

Law / VAT number as a sole trader vs a company VAT number in Poland / 'trading as' question [10]

Merged: Company in Poland VAT business question - claiming it back?

My friend (who is a bit dodgy) has a polish company, and buys a lot of things for his personal use, such as television, phones, washing machine, car etc, and claims back VAT, or buys VAT free. Eg a car might cost 100kzl but he buys it for 75kzl through his company.

His company has very little turnover, maybe 3-4kzl a year.

How is it possible to claim such big VAT back, when his company doesnt charge out more VAT than he reclaims?

Life / Free Poland Health Care - Paying minimal to no Zus [105]

Just moved to Poland from Uk. Currently work remotely as have a limited company in the UK. Is there a way to get free healthcare or pay minimal zus?

Eg would I get covered by paying national insurance in the UK, or long-term travel insurance?

At the moment, I was quoted near 900zl a month, to cover myself, wife and child. Which is very expensive.
