I have heard from several people that there is a lake near Krakow where people go to chill. Is this a myth or does this place exist. I wouldnt mind getting away from the blocks this weekend!!!

Work / Moving to Krakow from London, worrying about finding a job [16]

Do you think i will have any problems because I am from the north of Ireland?

Does it not count for anything that i once stabbed one of them for abusing Artur Boruc while we were watching a Celtic/Rangers game?

Yeah it is dirt cheap but I'm sure that changes when you are earning Zloty. I have a bit of basic Polish picked up from the gf.

I havent noticed the staring issue before and in terms of customer service if you give them a smile you usually get one back.

Work / Moving to Krakow from London, worrying about finding a job [16]

Hello, this is my first on this website and it would be great to get some replies.

I am planning to move over to Krakow in the next few months from London.
Although I am originally from Belfast, Ireland I have been living away from home for seven years, so i am not really worried about relocating and meeting new people. I already know a few Polish people.

I am worried about finding work though. It seems that every person from an English speaking country does a TEFL course and becomes a teacher!! Although I have heard it is financially rewarding I would like to know what the other options are. I am a fully qualified Journalist here in the UK, are their any English language media sources in Poland? I also have a law degree but not being a trained lawyer in the UK i dont thinkk I would be able to work in Poland.

How much will a studio flat in a decent area cost me. I know living with people is a cheaper option but i have done the houseshare thing for ages. I also want a bit of space for me and the ladyfriend. Realistically what can i expect to live off? I dont mind living cheaply but the odd piwo is a must. Also what are Polish landlords generally like about having puppies on their property.

Do you think i will have any problems because I am from the north of Ireland? I know some Polish people were treated horribly by some protestants in Belfast. Will i be subject to abuse because of this?

Also does anybody know a good boxing club in Krakow??
