Life / Are Polish natives intolerant of foreigners who do not properly speak the language? [30]

Poland has some of the best people in the world. If you had some bad dealings, they must have been Germans visiting or living there, to get away from that hell hole, they lived in.

And the Polish women are the best looking, and very nice women in the world.

This is why I want to retire and live there, soon, I hope.

And, different than most places, you don't have to be able to speak Polish to get along, in fact most want to speak English.

I have spent must time there, and we Americans can lear much from them.

Life / Let`s compare prices of services and products in Poland [359]

So rent could be around $ 625.00 a month, in American money. This could work for me, if on Hoza Street, or near the downtown Warsaw area. Would I get a better price for long term?

Life / Let`s compare prices of services and products in Poland [359]

So what can I plan on paying for furnished apartment for one, one bedroom, living room, and full bathroom, with all included, phone, cable, and all utittles, and food, and everything more I may need for a month, in or near downtown Warsaw? Can I live off my social security check and a small pension check? Please advise, since I hope to make this move this fall, if all works out.

On a visit to Poland I took a nice place like I now need, on Hoza Street, but lost my contact information. It was on the corner of Hoza, above a few stores. Do you know how to help me find this contact, or a place like it?

Travel / BIG LESSON (I visited and was threatened in Poland) [71]

Like a Polish farmer, it is nothing but bull. Why would someone, could be German person, take his time, to upset the thinking of all of us, we know better. Polish people are the best. In my visits to Poland, I find them to be most helping, and great people.

News / Polish Independence Day-Beware? [59]

Merged: What happened in Warsaw on Independence Day?

What happened in Warsaw on Independence Day?
What I read riots hit the street, violence broke out and a number of left-wing and anarchists tried to stop a march by far-right groups. 92 of the 202 arrested were German. Why did this go on? What do the Polish, in Poland think of this?

What is the best way to send money to family in Poland? I don't want to use pay-pal, or check, or money order, or travleriers checks, but there must be another way, also, don't want a bank transfer. I am told you can send some sort of pre-paid credit card. Can you help me with this?

USA, Canada / Big Franks Deli/Restaurant - New place that you need to check out (near Northwest Indiana) [8]

I just found a great new place, owned by a Polish born man, and run the Polish way. Great Polish foods, and outstanding homemade Polish sausage, smoked and fresh, the kind you could only before get in Poland.

It is Big Franks Deli and Restaurant, at 1417 Carrol Street, in East Chicago, Indiana, 219-378-9556, and ask for Stan, and tell him I told you to shop there.

I took one of his sausage, smoked, platters to my Polish meeting yesterday, and all loved everything.
Now you don't have to drive all the way to Chicago, for the best Polish sausage and other Polish food items, and still get the best.

Give it a try, and let me know what you think.

History / What do Poles owe to Russians? [193]

Poland owes nothing to Russia or Germany, or even less. They both owe so much to Poland, and will never make it up.
