Moved back from Canada to Poland:). Here are the reasons why. [868]
What are they negative about?
as pip said: people in general. I should not get into details, but I will. I am running to households within a 150 km distance. Mine and my father's. I can see how people are waiting for me to give in. A couple of winters ago (the winter was heavy) I was the first one at my father's town to shovel the snow:). On top of that I prepared the whole x-mas. Tip top- it was fun and. One of the neighbours said: wow, you can you everything, instead of asking me if I need help. It was said not in admiration, but in envy. Yes, I can do everything. Most people can and I don't see it as a big deal. The other day (my father lives in the building with a few apartments) another neighbours asked me to clean the stairs, although I don't live there. So according to her I have to travel 150 km to clean the stairs she uses the most. This is just an example. I would not clean the stairs, because they have a co-op and there is more then enough money to hire a cleaner. I also don't feel like doing it and she is on my black list now:D.
People in Poland don't like mighty people in general. I see a problem and I find a solution. I don't like wasting my time on things.
So now I make jams and that probably pisses them off lol. Apart from that I made my own web page and I am running 3 blogs on various interests. I got rid of an abusive guy in my building who was mistreating his dog and possibly his partner, although it took me 3 months. Check.
There are other things, but I am not gonna write about them.
I can relate to that. My father gets on my nerves, because I constantly come up with ideas of improving things. lol. On the other hand when I see somebody succeed I am very happy for them, because I know it takes a lot of work and determination. My sister doesn't trust anybody and thinks that everybody is trying to get her including me, especially when I am trying to be assertive- she just can't take it. She says that I am aggressive. I just tell her how it is. lol
So in general those attitudes are very draining. Fortunately, there are people who are not like that in Poland as well, but it is still a minority I think.
Oh, the other day I had a guy posting on my blog and telling me that I know nothing and how dare I write about my interest if I am not A professional. Polish people are very stuck up on being professional, yet most of them have no idea what it means. That happens very often with Polish men here - he must have been criticized a LOT, when he was young, so now he became the judge. I find it pretty draining at times.
My motto used to be "expect the worst and then its hard to be dissapointed".
It is not my motto, I am just realistic, some thing will work and some will not. I am not that easy to discourage to be honest. However having somebody say something nice for a change would be nice:D.
Poles like to complain, but often this is when it stops. No action to follow.
PS. Rybnik, do you know that according to some studies, there is only 10 % of trust in society in Poland, that is VERY LOW. I was shocked. However, I am not surprised, but that is another topic all together.
the end of rant:D. Thanks all.
