UK, Ireland / British court lets violent Polish racists walk free [61]

I think there should have been a mechanism where crimes involving violence would mean that they could be deported back to Poland

In a year, Brexit, they will be deported

That would explain their names:Ineta and Kasimiersz. These are not Polish names.

Poles born in the UK anglicise their names from unspellable, unpronounceable things like these.

Ineta is a Latvian name.

Classifieds / Polish Home Carers Needed in Colchester, Essex, UK [60]

Many of us may earn more than £ 16,000 a year but many of us also forget that large sections of the population will be earning approx £ 16k so I don't think people should get snobby about it

Its a ****, unskilled job but its more than minimum wage. My brother works in an office and gets paid less than £16K.

What everyone if ignoring is that Working Tax Credits could take the wage up to £27k per year with Housing Benefit (local council pays the rent).

For those who don't know the UK's social system, anyone working more than 16 hours per week has their wage topped up with 'in-work' social security payments. The idea is to force/encourage the unemployed to work and make it worthwhile.

but you see the manager getting alot more driving around in s flashy car laughing all the way.

Half the care homes in the UK are on the brink of bankruptcy. They are desperate for staff as its takes a lot of people to run these places and even at £900 per person per week the economics are precarious.

UK, Ireland / 31 year old Polish man causes accident under influence of alcohol and kills 8 [198]

Either way, after Brexit, one can only hope that Polish-registered drivers and trucks will be obliged to have alkomat-type devices installed to prevent this kind of thing happening again.

He was driving a UK registered Fedex truck. Potential lawsuit incoming,..

The family were on their way for a dream holiday to Disneyland,

They were several Wipro employees, non family members. So I'm not sure the they were going on holiday.

Work / Paramedic salary in Poland [69]

In the US, that is a religious right dogwhistle code

That sort of thing doesn't travel.

News / Polish man tries to sell British mother into white slave trade [128]

Clearly something is very wrong with British society....

Village idiot sees money in the UK and comes up with a money making scheme based on a fantasy story he read about on the internet: the demand for Polish girls by Arabs in Egypt.

Real Estate / How Poles can pay wlasny? (mortgage) [16]

What you consider a risk is quite different from what the regulator considers a risk, and they set the rules not the bank or you and I.

For instance, did you know that the exit strategy of a sale cost twice as much for a bank as a remortgage (with another bank)?

Real Estate / How Poles can pay wlasny? (mortgage) [16]

I personally rejected a mortgage deal which would have completely tied my hands and incurred costs far above what were once considered reasonable.

Wasn't that a short term development loan? There are very good reasons for the terms you were offered, chief among them is that very large numbers of borrows don't pay the money back on time which results in damage to a bank that exceeds the financial benefit they may achieve.

And by damage, I mean lose their banking license. The result is banks don't/won't do those sort of loans and the cost to do them for other companies is vastly higher (banks can borrow for as a little as 0% interest, non- banks pay 4-10%)

News / How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland. [1114]

ant-foreign sentiment seethes below the surface, same as in France, Poland, Sweden, The Netherlands, even Denmark:-)

Its everywhere. America, Europe, Australia, Russia, China varying levels of racism. Its human nature, apparently. Some animals attack, kill and even eat other social groups of the same species.

Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

If you're okay with that continuing for the foreseeable future, then.... carry on.

Its a direct result of the actions of the US president Bush and Tony ******* Blair.

There is nothing we can do about it now, except hunt down and kill the *****. Panicking like the Americans are wont to do is pointless.

Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

I was in pub a couple of hundred meters away from the attack. Buggers closed London Bridge station so I had to walk to Waterloo instead.

Nice to see that people, thousands of miles away, view this as the end of civilisation as we know it.

News / Mysterious death of Magdalena Żuk on holiday in Egypt [144]

The know facts are as follow, young women from Poland without any evident health problems went for a trip to Egypt. Three days on she was dead.

And that is unusual because of ... what??

News / Mysterious death of Magdalena Żuk on holiday in Egypt [144]

it's kind of 'shocking' when a young woman is dead though isn't it? not very well 'managed',

No more shocking than the 10,000 people who die every single hour of 365 days of the year.

Every year one in 500 people have a incident or are managing psychosis. Nothing unusual, rare or shocking about it,

If she had her drinks spiked THAT would explain everything.

No it wouldn't.

For a start, spiking drinks is extremely unusual in reality its an excuse people use to cover the fact that they got drunk.

The other issue is that the drugs put in drinks don't make you psychotic.

Larium does male you psychotic and is often taken for the first time on holiday.
