News / Poland's fight against paedophilia [277]

You know I have a good friend in Texas who is a police officer and I asked him could a pedophile be rehabilitated. He told me in his honest opinion he believes they will always have it because it is psychological; however, he believes that if a person does want to get better...they can use the tools taught to them not to hurt children. He said it is a disease...something triggers them to hurt children, but if they realize when they are about to do it, then they can better control themselves, but as far as a cure...he does not believe there is one. He said it is so sad that psychologically they can't help themselves. He said people do need to be careful about their kids...period whether there are pediphiles around or not.

News / What is wrong with Poland that Poles emigrate? [167]

What part of Chicago do u live Grethomory.

I live off of Austin and Belmont. When I moved here I had no idea I was in a Polish neighborhood. I just liked the place I chose to live...and then I asked my neighbor next door, "what's that writing on that church across the street?" He told me he was Polish and it was a Polish church...and let me know I was in a Polish neighborhood. I then asked, "where do people go out around here?" And he told me there's people around your age that go up the street to Krocodiles...so that Friday I walked up the street and met my first Polish friend there and through him I have a load of Polish friends that I hangout with. In fact, I'm about to go visit one of them in a few minutes.

News / What is wrong with Poland that Poles emigrate? [167]

The Polish people, along with the Italians and Germans before them, and the English before them, immigrated to the US to find a better life.

Amen, Kataryna, I am American and not Polish, but live here in Chicago after moving from the South. I see plenty of Polish struggling just trying to make a living...a better life for themselves. I see nothing wrong with that. America paints the picture many times of give me your "tired and poor" but that is not the case. It seems to me they only want others under their conditions.

There is no sin with someone wanting a better life. That's why so many Mexicans cross the border into Texas each day...the only want a better way of life. If you listen and believe the media you will be lost. The media will have you thinking that Blacks do nothing, but rob and steal and want to be on welfare when in reality there are more whites on welfare than Blacks....in addition the media never focuses on the hard working Blacks because...it's not newsworthy.

Think for yourselves all of you. Always before you place judgement put yourself in someone else's shoes and just be thankful that you are fortunate enough that it is not you.

Love / Are there Polish women who date black guys? [281]

It all comes down to personal preference...a person might fall in love with a Black guy or a Black girl might fall in love with a Polish guy or anyone else for that matter. Doesn't make the person a slut or tramp or whatever...it's what you want to do and who you love. I think the key is what a good friend told me..."it does not matter who you love...it's that you love..."

Language / Polish Lessons Units [189]

THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing this. I am a black guy in Chicago with many Polish friends and they are trying to teach me a few Polish words, but this really helps in the pronunciation of the words.

Thanks,
Greg(Jacek)

It is such as any case. People fall in love with people. People date each other. I don't know if it has to do with a particular race. Talk to anyone...there will be negative and positive comments equally.

USA, Canada / Any Poles in Texas! [61]

That is true. There are Polish people down in San Antonio. In fact, I met one lady who saw my Texas plates who was Polish and said she lived there for 14 years before moving here. Her daughter still lives there.

USA, Canada / Any Poles in Texas! [61]

Hi,

I just moved from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Chicago about 5 months ago. Getting used to Chicago. Dallas has alot of good things going for it, but for affordability...live in Tarrant County which is the county of Fort Worth and Arlington. The weather is good pretty much all year, but be prepared for the Summer. Just as Chicago has brutal winters...it is the opposite for Texas. I lived there for almost 20 years after college.

I never met one Polish person in Dallas. If they were Poles, they were born and raised in Texas and have lost much contact with their original roots. Believe it or not...there is quite a large population of individuals from former Yugoslavia as well as some Greek. My ex was from Serbia.

It all depends on what you want. Race relations are still pretty much an "us and them" mentality. If you don't sound like us or look like us...you're not one of us. Remember one thing...Texas is a red state.
