Real Estate / Question about Czynsz (Building maintenance fees/utilies) in Poland [129]

As I understand it, you have more chance of going to the Moon than getting rid of a tenant from your own flat. The fact that it is recorded with the tax authorities does not carry any weight. If the tenant stops paying, you will have to go to the Courts to evict him. This will take over a year.

On any rental agreement, the tenant has to specify an address where they would go in case of any disagreement with the landlord.

Real Estate / Question about Czynsz (Building maintenance fees/utilies) in Poland [129]

Re receipts: I make everyone sign a document that they have received any money from me. This includes the gas engineer when he does the annual check, the electrician or in fact any workman. Just stating the date, amount, purpose and the two parties is enough.

What evidence would you have that you have handed any money over if nothing is signed?

Real Estate / Question about Czynsz (Building maintenance fees/utilies) in Poland [129]

I remember years ago when I was renting a flat in Warsaw, I also had to pay this czynsz, which was twice the normal rent amount which the owner of the flat would have to pay. It all depends if the flat is located as an individual flat owned wholly by the owner, of if the flat belongs to spoldzielnia mieszkaniowa.

This only goes to show that you should read what you sign, never hand over any money without a Bill or an invoice. Make sure that the landlord is actually registered with the tax authorities. Ask for your money back and tell him that you will go to the police and the tax authorities to tell them how he wants to scam you. Get a Polish speaker to explain everything.

Classifieds / UI/UX Designer looking for work in Poland [8]

What can you offer a prospective employer? Maybe just the fact that you speak Turkish. If you have a University education there are places that may employ you. The pay will not be very much approx 3-4K per month gross.

Life / Average Food Bill in Poland - Family of 4 [7]

@adamn19830
I believe that from 350-400 pln per week on the very minimum side. 400 pln works out at 57 pln per day for the 4 of you.

UK, Ireland / P60 UK Upload - Brexit and Polish people's contribution to the British economy [48]

My thoughts on all this:
1. It is very likely, that once GB is out of the EU, they will not have to abide by the rules of the EU. One of which states how many 'refugees' each country has to take in. Poland will be in the situation where they will be TOLD how many they should have otherwise they will have to pay a penalty for each one.

2. As people were lead to believe that they would have a choice where to work in the EU, some came to England with the intention of going back when they choose. Becoming a British citizen was not part of the equation as some have left families and roots still in Poland. Instead of just one person becoming GB citizen, the rest of the family would have to come and become British too.

3. On the other hand, Brexit will now lead to situations where some Poles working in GB will return to Poland, and the Polish unemployment percentage will increase. This is bad news for Poland. It is also bad as the income currently being sent back to Poland to families will cease. Polish families will therefore be entitled to benefits which Poland cannot afford.

Real Estate / How is the Rzeszow city for a single guy to live ? [14]

Yesterday some Turkish students (under the Erasmus programme) were seriously attacked. One was hit in the head by a heavy object. Some have now returned home for fear of more attacks. Before you come to Poland to study, make sure that you know what you are getting yourself into.

Study / How much money do I need to have in my bank account at the time of applying for the students visa? [6]

You would need to be admitted to the Uni before they even consider a visa. You will need an address and pay for the course up-front for 3 years. If you think of getting into Poland pretending to be a student and then not attend Uni - it will not work. They will deport you. You have NO CHANCE of getting a job whilst studying and no chance of living in any decent accommodation.

This is not the way to go.

Law / High Interest Savings Account in Poland [5]

When buying LAND make sure that you can get the necessary paperwork for it. You have to buy with 'permission to build'. It is no use whatsoever buying land on which you can never build on.

It would be far better in the long run to buy a house that is already built. This would save you on renting for 2 years.

You have to do your calculations very carefully. Then do them again, taking into account all options open for you.
You will not EARN as much from your high interest account as you think.

Law / Ex-Girlfriend in Poland and Personal Debt [7]

Next time do not spend any money on your girlfriend and see how long she stays with you. It was suppose to be 'for love', but what she meant was ' when you run out of money, I walk.' Your own fault for being sucked in by a pretty face and a promise.....

UK, Ireland / P60 UK Upload - Brexit and Polish people's contribution to the British economy [48]

I have based my assumption on these facts:
1. Poles (or Polish nationals) were resident in England well before 2004 and have supported the British economy. Polish people did not arrive in 2004. These Poles may have married British nationals, and although they may be British, they are of Polish extraction. Would you count them as Poles?

2. It is extremely difficult to estimate the total number of Poles in England. If we go by Insurance Numbers, this may be a basis.
3. The fact is that NO ONE can say exactly how many Poles are currently resident in Britain, how many are working and paying tax and how many are on benefits of any kind.

4. There is no way of checking how many arrived, how many have left and how many will leave (not having been resident etc) for 5 years.

The Government to this day say ' an estimated X', but if they were ABSOLUTELY SURE, they would give a definite figure.
5. Just to put your mind at rest, I myself was born in Poland, have British nationality and have lived in England for 50 years. What does that make me?

A Pole or British national? Would I be counted in your figures?

Work / Is there anybody who work for Atos in Bydgoszcz as a foreigner? [32]

4.5 to 5K pln

I have learned today from reading Polish articles, that any job for a non-EU national must be valued at 5.8K pln gross per month. If not, the person will not receive a work permit.

The place of work also has to prove that a Polish person (for the same money) cannot be employed. This could be because the requirements of the job require a language or skills which the Polish people do not have.

This requirement applies to all positions and it does not matter whether it is an entry level or a high level position or in fact any position at all.

Law / LOOKING FOR HELP AND INFORMATION TO OPEN INDIAN RESTAURANT IN POLAND..... [80]

Before even thinking of opening any restaurant anywhere in Poland, go to a similar place and ask the owner how much it cost them to open. They will give you an idea. Then ask them about the bureaucracy, paperwork and the nerves it cost them. If you are still standing when they finish - consider that it will cost you twice as much and it may be that you will lose all your money. Only invest money that you can afford to lose.

Real Estate / Polish property at public auction and best exposure [21]

Why did you not tell us that at the beginning? If you have planning permission, then you are selling Land with planning permission which is totally different to selling land without planning permission.

Go to any estate agent and ask if they could advise you. There are auctions of this type, but you MUST have VALID planning permission.
