Now simply fill out the CEIDG application online here:

Choose "Anonymous preparation of the application" - since probably you don't have a qualified electronic signature.
When you complete it go to any of town or community administrative office, eg Urząd Dzielnicy Śródmieście (downtown)

Law / Right Hand Drive cars in Poland 'indefinitely' but not registered - doable? [21]

I'll try to translate the news:

The end of the requirement of the steering wheel on the left side

European requirement of the total harmonization of the homologation laws forced Polish legislature to change the rules on car equipment.

The existing rule, which prescribes the steering wheel location on the left side in the vehicles, has been modified.
Firstly have been introduced minor modifications in the text of § 9. 2 of the Regulation (Dz. U. of 2013. Pos. 951 and 1720), in which "should not be placed on the right side" was replaced by "should be placed on the left side." Thereby a general rule was created to which some exceptions exist.
These are indicated in the added paragraph 2a. It introduces some requirements for vehicles with the steering wheel on the right. It should be noted that this case concerns only vehicles of category M1, ie the passenger cars which have no more than 8 seats, excluding the driver's seat. But only in two cases. New cars must have an EC type-approval certificate, and the used cars should be previously registered on the Member State territory.

The car will be registered in Poland, only when additionally equipped with:
- relevant, original lighting
- the original mirrors, in accordance with the indications from the Annex to Regulation
- properly calibrated speedometer.
All these requirements are designed to adapt the vehicle to the right-hand traffic rules, which came into force in Poland.

How do the companies prove that they didn't find anybody better (from Poland or EU)?

The companies won't do the research. They submit a notification of a vacancy in the District Labour Office and then the registries analysis is made about unemployed and job seekers. If it happens that there's enough people that meet the requirements resulting from the submitted offer, then a recruitment is being organized among people who are looking for the job. The Starost shall take a decision in a timely manner. Information is passed to an employer who then submit it as an attachment to the application for a work permit.

Here is the proper structure of PESEL number:

It has the form of YYMMDDZZZXQ, where YYMMDD is the date of birth (with century encoded in month field), ZZZ is the personal identification number, X denotes sex (even number for females, odd number for males) and Q is a control digit, which is used to verify whether a given PESEL is correct or not.

Genealogy / Village Kulaszne - information and background [6]

I'll try to translate some facts from Polish:

Kulaszne is the most north placed village of Komańcza administrative district. The name probably comes from the Albanian language - kullose - meaning pasture. In the years 1977-1981 the name was polonised for Międzygórze.

The town was located with the Vlach law. From 1538 to 1772 it was one of the villages in Russian province. After the first Poland partition Kulaszne belonged to the Lesko region and later Sanok.

In 1785 the village was inhabited by 235 people.

After World War I, like most of the surrounding settlements, in which lived many Lemkos and Ukrainians, Kulaszne opted for inclusion to the Komancza Republic. During the the Second Polish Republic, the village served as the town of Spa. In the village were several guest houses and a Mineral Water Pump Room. In 1947, Kulaszne residents were displaced to the West and North-East of Poland. In the early 60s, however, many have returned to their small homeland.

A few years ago in Kulaszne was built Greek Catholic Church of St. Michael the Archangel. The newly established temple is situated near the place where was the original orthodox church of Michael the Archangel, built in the early twentieth century, and burned down in 1974 and a Roman Catholic church was built over the foundation. There is a cemetery where was buried a painter, sculptor and lover of Bieszczady mountains - the legendary Andrzej "Połonina" Wasilewski.

I'll try to translate the relevant paragraphs:

Application for a decision in accordance with the Law of 8 July 2005 on exercising the right to compensation for property left outside the current borders of the Republic of Polish, can apply:

1. The owners (or co-owners) of property abandoned beyond the present borders of the Poland who were on 1 September 1939 Polish citizens and have lived on former territory of the Republic of Poland

2. In the case of death of the property owner (co-owner) - the right to compensation shall be entitled to all his heirs, or some of them, as indicated by the other heirs, if they have Polish citizenship. Identification of a person entitled to compensation is followed by the submission of a statement with notarized signature to a public administration body or in the Polish consular office.

Is there any chance they may extend it or open it up for application again?

I'm not sure if it's possible yet - but you should contact with a lawyer.

Also is there any website or office to contact or to keep checking with regarding this? Basically some way to see what is going on with this issue.

Lost property (so-called mienie zabużańskie) and compensation are (were) in the hands of voivodeship offices, according to the place of residence of the applicant.

Food / Pastel de nata in Krakow [5]

bakery in Krakow that makes pastel de nata?

I doubt that any bakery in whole Poland makes them..

But I have found a recipe, reportedly the tartlets do not differ from the originals.

What you need is: (ingredients for about 8-12 pieces)

300ml of milk
3 eggs
1 vanilla pod
pinch of cinnamon
100g of sugar
2 tablespoons of cornflour
1 sheet of puff pastry

Beat the eggs thoroughly with milk, the pot with milk set on low or medium heat. Add grains from the vanilla pod, cinnamon, sugar and the flour reconstituted with a bit of milk. Stir vigorously to prevent from any lumps until the mass clearly thickened and will remind a thick pudding. Once that happens, leave it it to cool. When the mass is in ambient temperature, lay it down to fit with French pastry-lined muffin tins. Bake at 180C for about 15 minutes.

You should remember that the employer applies for the work permit for foreigner in Poland. Some specified circumstances are also important, like eg. the amount of earnings. The salary can't be lower than average earnings for this position. And you should learn Polish during the study.

When looking for a job you can't overstay your student visa. After graduation (and before your visa expires) apply for temporary stay in Poland - it will prolong your lawfully stay in country and give you more time for finding a job.

Study / Masters in Architecture and Urban planning at Warsaw University Of Technology [4]

Warsaw University is very reputable school in Poland. Generally it's not easy to get there. But the Urban Planning don't belong to the most popular fields of study there, and so it is easier to be admitted.

Do they have classes every day?

The classes are mostly four days a week.

how is it going to this school?

I found different opinions. People said that too much emphasis is placed here on geography. More theory than practice. Most of the staff are geographers and people dealing with economics, regional growth, development aid, etc. Earlier some complained that there is a lack of technical things, drawing, playing with plans etc, but maybe it changed over time. Studies are not very difficult to finish, but the question is how much you are determined and interested to self explore different aspect of the architecture, urban planning. Pure theory class is often not sufficient to get a good job.

You should just apply for a temporary residence permit in the Office for Foreigners of the Voivodeship Office in the voivodeship where you reside.
In case if your Visa stay in Poland expire, you'll get annotation (stamp in the travel document) confirming the submission of an application. This stamp legalizes your stay up to date of the decision in this case.

Even if your stay is undocumented, being a citizen spouse, you have certain privileges - you can't be deported nor included in the list of undesirable aliens on Polish territory, however the undocumented stay terminates uninterrupted legal stay in Poland, which is necessary to obtain a permit for permanent residence, and later Polish citizenship. Moreover, you lose then various benefits such as the right to work, or to public health insurance.

Unfortunately no place with such name exists in Poland. But probably it's misspeling, if we know the name of your ancestor, or the direct link from ellis island site, we would see a handwritten name of the place and maybe catch the proper one..

The closest names to the Miedzygwent are Międzygórze or Międzygórz, but the other letters may be different yet.

What is Gdynia like? Meaning compared to gdansk and sopot... Is it very similar?

Gdynia is more quiet, because is not so crowded and popular, but not so much places to enjoy I think. The harbor, Naval Museum, aquarium, small beach, Skwer Kościuszki street - the choice is yours ;)
