USA, Canada / Polish Americans and religion [28]

But, when I see and talk to other polish people, it seems that many are, in fact really religious

I see this trend mainly with the older Polish generation.

Life / The Polish people have a strange attitude to cats and dogs? [84]

the average life of a polish cat is 2 years

Took this pic in front of a book store window in Warszawa. The Polish kitty doesn't look like he's suffering much. In fact, he looks pretty spoiled to me :)

Life / Car's confrontation with a Wild Boar in Poland [37]

a large wild boar run into the path of his Harley....the wild piggie survived...my friend did not...

An animal in the path of a traveling vehicle, can become a deadly situation. My former neighbors had hit a cow crossing a road. All but one family member were killed, during the tragic car accident.

I've hit deers before with my car

Poor Bambi :( Btw, the plural form of the noun deer is deer, not deers.

Any królik (rabbit) fanciers on PF?

When I was a little girl, I'd eat rabbit with my dad. I remember the meat tasting very similar to chicken. If I were to taste rabbit today, I'd probably throw up. Can't stand the thought of eating Bugs Bunny :(

Life / Poland's Next Top Model (TV show) [73]

she screamed and shouted when they cut it

The poor girl probably screamed bloody murder, when she saw the end results. Looks like the hairstylist used a bowl as a cutting guideline. She's very pretty, but her hairstyle does like a damn joke!

Life / Poland's Next Top Model (TV show) [73]

most these girls are butt ugly

Some of the girls are very average-looking. However, I wouldn't mind having Joanna Krupa's figure :)

USA, Canada / Do Polish guys like American girls? [103]

She can come to Chicago (Polands Capitol) and have plenty of guys she can meet in person

I was nearly drooling at some of the hot-looking guys, at Chicago's O'Hare Airport. Kept thinking... damn, I sure need to take a roadtrip :)

Life / Stereotypes: Do Poles believe in fate? [18]

Some of the older generation believe, our lives have already been predetermined. I feel mankind usually has the choice, to practice free-will decisions. We try to control our own guidance and destination in life.

Food / Ribs and Potato's (Patrycja's Mom Recipe) [13]

you can also add carrots to this, they work good too

My mom makes a similar meal, without any BBQ sauce. She adds some kapusta, to give it a little extra Polish flair ;)

Life / Jehova's witnesses in Poland - how to deal with them? [110]

How have you dealt with them?

I heard a comedian on the radio the other day. He tells JW he can't talk right now. He's busy sacrificing a goat. But if they'd like to chat later, they can reach him at: (666)666-6666

Food / Help me like Polish food (recommendations) [48]

When you've got a sweet tooth, nalesniki (Polish crepes) should do the trick. Otherwise, you can always have some delicious smalec (lard and pork bits, yummy!)

  • great with fruit compote

  • instant hardening of the arteries

When we receive registrations, we group applicants

My friend had gone to a speed dating event in California. She didn't realize it was Asian Night! So... she ended up being the only female present, who was non-Asian. She had fun though. Btw, most of the guys there adored her ;)

Love / Unmarried couples in Poland = pathology [310]

Furthermore children are born out of wedlock, this does not disqualify the parents from being good parents

Children born out of wedlock isn't a new concept either. Polish actress Helena Modjeska, had two children born out of wedlock, during the late 1800's.

Life / Polish are some of the best educated in the world [35]

Multiple college degrees means avoiding the real world

You're very mistaken.

1 or 2 degrees are enough to learn what you need to.

Not necessarily true. Different occupations may require more than 2 college degrees.

The rest can be through home study or other options.

Great advice from someone who practically lives online, only 23,000+ posts and counting.

and you are a result of the US system so its not really saying anything

A great majority of my family were born, raised and educated in Poland. To this day, they still reside quite successfully in Poland.

Polish are some of the best educated in the world

I have to agree, many Polish people are highly-educated. The majority of my family members have multiple college degrees, including myself.
