News / Poland may take the EU to court if they step up pressure -- Kaczyński [89]

diversity

Both May and Kaczyński are out of harm's way, but their meeting has been temporarily postponed. Poland is correct in purusing a special relationship with the UK. It also has one with the USA. The gives Warsaw extra leverage and assertiveness vis-à-vis the oft-corrosive and toxic Brussels behemoth.

got a lot more skeletons

Name some. There's Piotrowicz and then there's Piotrowicz and, oh yes, also Piotrowicz. If you really scrape the bottom of the barrel you may dredge up 2 or 3 more, but that's no match for the scamster POO party, the refuge of the PZPR's red gestapo. They actually marched hand in hand with POO, KOD and Petru, and Kijowski publicly delcared Poles should be grateful to the SB for providing them with security.

Language / After / Po (conjunction in Polish) [13]

Po tym jak zjedliśmy

That formulation is grammatically correct but sounds somewhat unnatural in colloquial speech. Probably a native speaker would find another way of expressing that idea such as:

Po posiłku (jedzeniu, obiedzie) zawzse zmywam naczynia.

end up behind bars

That's the fate that awaits Tusk if he shows up in Poland. The latest findings of the AmberGold investigation have shown Tusk knew about the pyramid scam well in advance but did nothing about it. He also knew of his son's involvement therein (OLT AIlrine). Do Poland have a father & son cell in their penal system?

Whatever the case, the POO scamster regime will never again rear its ugly head and resume riupping off Poland. POO is history. According to Morawiecki, PiS can look forward to governing Poland into the 2030s.

wider European backlash

You msut read the Kosher Courier with your horse-blinkers tightly in place, because you seem to be sheltered from what's actually happening all about. There is a European and American backlash all right but it is against anarcho-leftism, multi-culti, PC suppression of free speech, atheo-secularism, promisco-pansexualism and cosmopolitan globalism.

And you failed to explain why PiS, Brexit, LePen, Wilders and Trump.

what they turned in to

Like your fellow-PiS-bashers, your whole line of argumentation is focused on the results not the prime causes.
WHY DID PEOPLE VOTE FOR PiS, BREXIT AND TRUMP IN THE FIRST PLACE? If you can candidly answer that question you'll realise you're barking up the wrong tree! Or maybe you're no longer (or perhaps never were) capable of comprehending the process known as cause and effect. It wouldn't surprise anyone, after all.

he'd sell out

Like the doomed soldiers, he'd rather die than betray Poland. Don't forget it was people like Macierewicz and Kaczyński that first set up KOR to protect oppressed workers, not knowing what jail they would end up in or in which back alley the'd be attacked and possibly bludgeoned to death in by "unidnretified assailants" (nie znani sprawcy). You and your cronies keep referring to PRL which you have only read or heard about from 2nd- or 3rd-hand sources.

incredibly fascinating

One finds it incredibly fascinating, nay -- downright astonishing that you only see fit to deride Poland's strategist supreme, the most powerful and influential person in Poland, and also one of the most significant in Europe at this point in time.

"good change"

Poland is the only country in Europe that can stand up to Germany, said Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of the governing Law and Justice (PiS) party.

"Sooner or later our perseverance will reap good results," Kaczyński told the wSieci weekly in an interview.
Kaczyński spoke about the recent re-election of former Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to head the European Council for a 30-month term.
The Polish PiS government had proposed MEP Jacek Saryusz-Wolski as its candidate to run against Tusk.

Food / What Scottish Whisky do they sell in Poland? [24]

depends on the supermarket

Mine was not a personal (wheree can I get) query since the 24/7 of-licence places stock a wide range of tipples. It was more anthropo-sociological: so few brandies and so many whiskies?

yet another "good change"

The PiS reform programme has been aimed at cleaning up the mess left my crooked and/or incompetent predecessors and sweeping away corruption wherever it occurs. The court system is a case in point. Judges regard themselves as an untouchable caste not bound by the rules of mere mortals, hence no-one has the right to take them to task for corruption and various irregularities. That includes the Gdańsk prosrecutor ignoring reports and refusing to investigate the AmberGold scam as well as a criminal corruption conspiracy in a Kraków court. High Court judge Gerdorf was involved in financial hanky-panky in the OFE (Open Retirement Fund) scandal, but since "hand washes hand", the charges were conveniently dropped. This is but the tip of the ice-berg. The broom of justice will continue sweeping away the corrupt cliques and coteries that have establised themselves in the judicial apparatus.

repeating

A newcomer to a remote tropical island was warned of the foo bird which had a tendency to defecate on people while flying by. But if anyone wiped it off, he would die on the spot. The admonition was phrased as follows: If the foo sh*ts, wear it!

Murdoch from interfering

In Poland most likely it is the evil financial manipulator multibillionaire Soros who is calling the shots for the libby-lefty media including the foxy Lis' Newspeak magazine, the Szechter boy's Kosher Courier and Television Nonsense (TVN).

Re-polonisation

Poland is trying to bring its media ownership policy into line with that of other countries such as Germany and France. Germany limits foriegn stakes in individual media segments to around 15% and France has simialr restrictiond. The media are by nature a sensitive and strategic sector unlike biscuit and safety-pin production and that is reflecetd by the concenr over foreign ownership those countries display. It seems there is a German stake in nearly all if Poland's regional publications. A catalysing factor was the instruction issued to Ringier Axel Springer journalists in Poland how to write about different topics. That was viewed as a covert form of censorship (you want to keep your job then report things the way I tell you to) and amounts to foreign interference in Poland's internal affairs. They say capital has no nationality but its owners do hold opinions and often try to impose them on others.

Food / What Scottish Whisky do they sell in Poland? [24]

Whisky

Every manner of whisky and whiskey (scotch, Irish, borubon, pure malt, blended American, Polish imitiaton, etc.) is avialbale in Poland, but where have all the brandies gone? The true cognacs as well as many quite good French brandies (Bardinet, Seguin, St-Rémy, Chantelle and others labelled Napoléon for $3 a throw) were once widely avialable in Warsaw. Now a supermarket may have only Bulgarian Pliszka or Hunagrian Budafok for sale. Anyone know why? To me all whisky, whether straight or blended, malted or shmalted has that stomach medicine (krople żołądkowe) aftertaste and is best avoided altogether..

News / 60% of Poles say Szydło's government should resign [238]

something like 20 votes against him

An organisaiton, club or party may elect or appoint its officials the way their charter stipulateseven by flipping a coin.
It's another thing when dealing with a public body, domestic or internitonal, and in the European Council's case it was an absolute disgrace to run an unopposed single-candidate vote for chairman. The way the EC and other bodies come to power also leaves much to be desired. Before they resume banging on about democracy and the rule of law, they should first clean up their own act.

client/vassal relationship

Hardly a Polish invention. The hand-washes-hand scheme has been around as long as organised poltiics. One reason bureacracies are so large world-wide and there is strong resistance to their downsizing is to repay generous campaign contributors and electioneering volunteers with cushy posts. Joseph Kennedy (JFK's dad) bought himself the ambassdorship to St James Court from FDR. Just one well-known example; msot are kept under wraps and away from public scrutiny for obvious reasons.

ridiculous performance

It was the EU that performed ridiculous. The first time in hsitory that it rejected any country's official cnadidatge and imposed one of its own chooisng. And what does a single candidate running iunpposed have to do with democracy? The EU's entire voting/appoitnment system is highly suspect and needs to be reformed. PM Szydło valiantly stood up for Poland's dignity nad sovereignty. Other countries were not so much supportive of Tusk as following Merkel's lead and adopting a wait and see approach.

PO and generally KOD enjoys some kind of massive popular support

The latest CBOS support survey has shown the fallacy of POO loser thinking. Schetyna is tying to worm his way into the PM post through a no-confidence vote although he has only 28% support, presumably from only his own party stalwarths and wants to replace Szydło who enjoys the backing of 51%. Incidentally, the most support of any poltician is enjoyed by Duda (58%). Schetyna nad Petru (27%) have even fewer advocates than Kaczyński (34%). That again underscores the transparent hypocrisy and insincerity of the losers camp who insist Kaczyński should be PM knowing that he's not cut out for it. He is not a charismatic public speaker nor a day-to-day logistician but a brilliant strategist and is posted where he can do his best.

So it's about propaganda?

Indeed, the resentful losers club has absolutely nothing to offer the Polish nation except clueless and unconvincing propaganda. Their entire idoelogy, policy, tactics and strategy boil down to reactive PiS-bashing. If the govt said water was wet, they would strt cry-babying to the EUr, foreign governments and anti-Polish foreign media outlets that #%X¤?&$#ߣ*!% or some other codswallop, balderdash or malarkey.

nipping at the PiS heels

Indeed, the mangy, flea-bitten curs of PO. KOD and Petru bark, yelp and growl, but the caravan of good change just moves on.

said ministers are all crap

Regardless of what the losers cłub has to say about the current ministers, they know they cannot remove them with no-confidence proposals and yet they non-challantly keep wasting taxpayer money in a pathetic attempt at one-upmanship. Clueless wanabees all! Each one of their idiotic mud-slinging matches (no-confidence debates) costs thre taxpyer 1.3 million złotys.
