Classifieds / English cuisine week in Lidl shops in Poland [203]

I know, isthatu2. It's a bit of a wind up. Unless sth is truly and undeniably English or Scottish, I just see it as British. I saw it when I travelled. I often used to drink with a Welsh girl and an English guy and there was no bickering about most foods traditionally seen as British. Very little territorial instincts there, just an appreciation of foods which were spread around Britain long ago.

I can't wait to get some cod fillets, fish&chips and scampi. Hatherwood actually makes some pretty decent stuff. The caramel shorts are made with real Belgian chocolate. I had them about 1.5 years ago and they went down well. As calorific as it gets but tasty!

Wow, many bait takers out there ;) As for fish and chips being 'English', why is that the Dolphin chippie and Ashvale often win the top awards? It's actually British Week, not English cuisine week.

News / GERMANS WANT TO GERMANIZE KOPERNIK (COPERNICUS)! OUTRAGE! [1016]

MW, I got this info from a pro-Serbian, patriotic Polish woman. She told me the Serbs were demonised, and they were. She's fluent in both languages.

Copernicus was not 100% Polish, is it sinking in yet? ;) ;)

And Poland repays Serbia back by believing all the BS spread in the media about the Serbs being demons. Nice :( :(

Copernicus was not only Polish. Being European, he was of mixed blood. My wife is the same. She is more German by blood but Polish by nationality and upbringing.

It's back with us again. There should still be virtually everything available on Wed when I'll be popping along as it's a national holiday tom.

UK, Ireland / Poles in the UK not a problem as far as i can tell [79]

There is a fair bit of verbal aggression, it's true. Britain is no stranger to road rage and spontaneous outbursts. Poles sometimes do it during the peak hour but I'd say it's more visible in Britain.

Law / Child Support Poland - my story and advice request [22]

Well said, delph. Poles are overwhelmingly biased towards their own. Shamefully blatant about it! I saw it in mediation as a translator. Until that changes, what faith can be placed in their system? Discrimination Central.

UK, Ireland / Is moving to UK now a good idea? - antipolish prejudice of the Brits [231]

Dudelz is a smart guy. I know him personally and he is as fair as they come. I see what he is saying all too clearly. Natives can criticise but nobody else can, what a shambolic state of affairs!! If you ask sth on a forum, you have to be ready for all kinds of answers.
