Work / Non administrative jobs in Poland? [7]

however one can work sth related to the American army based there (sell used cars targeted at US soldiers in Ansbach for ex.

I don`t think local Germans who have been doing that work for decades will allow an alien without German meddle into their business. :):)

Yes, he is of Jewish origin. That is a big help.

Hint: why should a countenance of a Jewish man be displayed in/at a Polish ...... ? Where, exactly?

It looks like the head of a drawing pin.

Aaah, the drawing pin? Do you think it is an alien addition to the whole item? No, it is its integral part.

Hint: the colour of the "pin" suggests its real nature. What exactly is it?

Language / Spelling of a Polish name? [38]

his name is rob bedenski i thought he said ??

Next time you must adopt the British approach: spell it for me, please. Polish names are not a piece of cake.

to the meaning of the Polish surname "Bednarz" or "Bednarczyk":-)

Bednarz is sb who makes barrels. and other big wooden containers.

Is "Debinski" related to "Dabrowski"?

Yes, Oak family. But Dębiński suggests a single tree, while Dąbrowski the oak forest.

Work / Non administrative jobs in Poland? [7]

It seems that most job offers for Poland for expats in the outsourcing sector.

Is it different in other countries where English isn`t the official language? E.g, what career are you going to have in Germany without knowing German?

Life / Why are young Poles turning away from Church and religion? [25]

Religion and church are not required to believe, observe the ten commandments, and be a moral person.

That`s a good remark, indeed. However, how many of those who leave the Church will remember about the 10 commandments and all the rest?

Life / Why are young Poles turning away from Church and religion? [25]

Facts are relentless - more and more young Poles prefer to keep far from religion. Each year it is getting worse. In 1996 18% declared atheism or indifference, in 2018 - 38%.

salon24.pl/u/tekstykanoniczne/961812,mlodzi-polacy-odchodza-od-kosciola-i-religii

Before we get down to deeper analysis, a little story about certain mural which certain priest didn`t like, More exactly, the rooster painted by local children as a symbol of the countryside. The priest said the rooster is a symbol of betrayal and falsehood. (biblical story of Peter betraying Jesus).

krakow.wyborcza.pl/krakow/7,44425,25080725,dzieci-namalowaly-mural-z-kogutem-ksiadz-uznal-ze-to-symbol.html#S.main_topic-K.C-B.5-L.3.maly

I imagine the children`s reactions to priest`s critique. They and their parents heard it during Sunday mass service.

That is one of the great ways of sowing the seed of doubt in children`s minds. Later, being young adults, they will be prone to believe that everything what the priest says is a pack of lies and absurdities.

Who wants that?

Hints:
Yes, for hanging but not hats.
Broken chain? not important.
What pin do you mean? This sth that the man is holding? It`s not a pin.
Who is the man?

Interesting fact: the glasses are real, not painted or carved.

History / Why are Jews pestering Poland for "proper" WW2 monetary restitution/reparations? [750]

So, what do Am Senators expect Poland to do when they press on Pompeo to urge the Polish government to satisfy Jewish property restitution claims? What exactly should Poles do because I am lost who wants what?

The first 10 google results with this latest news come from Jewish sites and then there is void. E..g,

jns.org/88-us-senators-call-on-poland-to-pay-holocaust-victims-for-property-stolen-by-nazis/

(August 5, 2019 / JNS) A bipartisan group of 88 U.S. senators signed a letter on Monday to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, asking him to "act boldly and with urgency to help Poland resolve this issue comprehensively" of compensating Holocaust victims whose property was stolen by German Nazis.

History / Villas like the one Kaczynski was living in were given only to top party officials!!!! [10]

Interesting. How did he manage to restart his studies and succeed in his career after the war, I wonder?

Reasons might be multiple, probably we`ll never know if he was a communist mole in patriotic AK ranks or he remained a patriot himself but had a friend in communist police headquarters who protected him in the worst stalinist period 1948-1956. Kaczyński had saved his friend`s life during occupation and then the latter wanted to express gratitude.

People were living on the edge all the time, while war and later times wrote incredible sceniarios in which people had to play strange roles.

History / August Agbala - Nigerian soldier in Warsaw Uprising [23]

Shitonyou, welcome back. They said you were dead. But why are you again unregistered? :):)

Why tiny? Because councils in all big cities had to spend large funds to make up for PiS` "deform" of education. It cost millions and some cities are already sueing PiS government for compensation.

I also read that PiS government is going to levy new financial burdens on city councils. That is PiS` revenge for the lost local elections last year.

History / August Agbala - Nigerian soldier in Warsaw Uprising [23]

Clearly it took a PiS government to allow son of Poland to have long overdue recognition

I am so terribly sorry, Sir, to inform you that PiS had nothing to do with that monument to the black hero fighter. Such monuments are the local council`s business. Warsaw has been ruled by PO since autumn 2018.

So, the monument is PO`s merit. :):)

Lookie downie, Sir, even PO mayor of Warsaw unveiled it.

PS. You have given ass with this PiS a little but I appreciate the fact you are not a racist. Keep up good work .

hahaha

PS2. to give ass means to screw up.

Real Estate / Poland online property ownership checker (government website) [19]

Do still own this polish property...

Do you mean if you still own this property?

Most probably not. The law of prescription allows dwellers to take over the property after 20 or 30 years if the owners don`t claim it. If those people you are talking about had lived there since 1964, they were entitled to acquire your parents` house in 1994 at latest.

Read this site and all links on it
zasiedzenie.net/

In case sb was confused by the expression prescription, here is the explanation. I see it also exists in legal systems in other countries, so it is international.

lectlaw.com/def2/p146.htm

The manner of acquiring property by a long, honest, and uninterrupted possession or use during the time required by law. The possession must have been long, continued, peaceable, and without lawful interruption.

Life / Parking Fines in Poland [26]

You need to contact the municipal police in Międzyzdroje and ask them about it. They will give you the bank account number.

If you do nothing, there is a big chance they won`t chase you in Sweden, but if you come again in the same car, it might end with problems.
