UK, Ireland / Unemployed Poles in Ireland : a crash course in milking the system [323]

What has this guy being Polish got to do with the crime?

Nothing other than the fact that a guy who's responsible for the death of that poor woman is a Pole. Of course, it doesn't mean that all Poles are criminals and we all know it.

UK, Ireland / Unemployed Poles in Ireland : a crash course in milking the system [323]

The elderly woman, who lived alone, landed on the ground during the assault in which she tried to defend her belongings.

a very sad story indeed. If I was a Pole, I'd take care of that SOB just to show the locals that not all Poles are criminals (we all know you're not but those of you who are, are seriously messing up your reputation).

News / Exorcist monthly goes on sale in Poland [17]

Scientology is the one true faith! All others are hoaxes.

Do you really mean it?

I can't stand Tom Cruise, nope Scientology is not for me (LOL).

Language / What is the proper term for Gesundheit ? [7]

Gesundheit is used to wish good health to a person who has just sneezed so I guess it would be something like "na zdrowie" but I might be wrong here.

USA, Canada / Who is better informed, the expat or the Polonia crowd? [144]

And, of course, they'd support anybody who opposes the man who they describe to their friends as "that niggger in the White House"

I can only speak for myself and I'll tell you Harry, I support Romney because Obama sucks as a president and just about anyone will be a better president than him. Not that Romney is perfect though.

Real Estate / Rent in Lublin - approximate cost? [5]

Does anyone know what I should expect to pay for a 50-70m, 2-3 room flat in Lublin?

I don't know now but i 2004 when I lived there, I was paying 1000 PLN for a little, two bedroom house (near the lake).

USA, Canada / Who is better informed, the expat or the Polonia crowd? [144]

that should be their sovereign choice.

no it shouldn't. Adult people should be making adult decisions and if you decided to leave your country behind, you should carry the consequences of it and in this case, learn the language of a country you live in. Btw. you guys are expecting the same thing from us when we live in Poland too.

USA, Canada / Who is better informed, the expat or the Polonia crowd? [144]

There are, I kid you not, expats who have been here for 10 years and still cannot speak Polish.

"There are, I kid you not", Poles in the US who have been here for over 30 years and still don't speak English (met a Polish female from Chicago who lived here for 33 years and speaks very poor English).

News / Czech drug legalisation threatens Poland [111]

All this pot-demonizing po prostu angers me.
It's all bull-sh++.
Legalize pot and tax it like you do booze and cigs.

I'd rather see it all banned from circulation. I absolutely disagree with legalizing drugs (any drugs), it's bad enough we have to deal with alcohol and nicotine addicts, no need to add illegal drugs to it.

News / Czech drug legalisation threatens Poland [111]

I've never ever, ever treated anyone in my 25 years of being a physician (a sizeable portion of that time in inner city clinics) for a pot-related emergency/illness!

weed is totally harmless, is that what you're saying, Rybnik?

News / 1.3% birth rate = Poland's slow death [221]

1.3% birth rate = Poland's slow death

Poland won't die if your people will stay in Poland instead going abroad (not talking about tourism) as much they do.

USA, Canada / Animosity against second and third generation poles ? [26]

My response was another set of numbers. And that's it. Now go away. Nothing to see here. I have nothing against you, you might be nice in person, but here you are just inventing things.

It looks like you're getting a little confused, my friend ;-)

USA, Canada / Animosity against second and third generation poles ? [26]

But your questions: Do they make you more successful in life? Another question is, what is more important, a high IQ or common sense?
are way off topic

"Animosity against second and third generation poles ?"

You're comparing numbers, that have absolutely NOTHING to do with this thread and you're telling me, I'm off topic, LOL

(another "we're smarter and better", thread)

USA, Canada / Animosity against second and third generation poles ? [26]

These are the topic I am not willing to participate in, since they are vague and immeasurable

It's measurable if you open your eyes and compare achievements of people in different countries. You can't take numbers for granted, especially when the presented difference (your post) isn't very convincing.

USA, Canada / Animosity against second and third generation poles ? [26]

OK boletus, now ask yourself what all these numbers mean in reality? Do they make you more successful in life? Another question is, what is more important, a high IQ or common sense?

USA, Canada / Animosity against second and third generation poles ? [26]

I'm not at all mixed up. I have heard of many Polish (and other European) children moving to the U.S. and having to be moved up a year because they were more advanced than their classmates.

yeah, on a high school level, maybe, however from my personal experience in Europe, your kids are (in the meantime), just as dumb as ours but when it comes to universities, whatever you've heard, was just a rumor. You can't always listen to people, my friend.

Why will you not welcome us??

Why do you care what people (here) say? If this is really what you want to do, just do it and don't ask anyone.

American education? I don't think Poland compares unfavourably with the U.S.

I think, you're getting something mixed up here, man.

What do you call "recovered territories"?

History / Interactive map of Poland 960-2004 [43]

What, stuck to the East, with shockingly bad infrastructure in the former Russian (and to a certain extent, Austrian) areas?

Yeah, from a "business' point of view you're certainly right but historically, it was much longer in Polish hands than its western parts.

What you said is like choosing a stranger over your family member.

if you put it that way, none of your neighbors can be really happy with your borders but it is what it is, be happy to live in peace.
