Love / THE POLISH DISEASE, wanna marry a Polish girl ? read on... [197]

stantheman

And let this be a lesson to you, in fact not only to you but to any male interested in amour polonaise. The trick is to wear ski boots at all times, especially on the wedding day (and night), so now you know it.

No there is nothing wrong with ski boot fetish, a passion to be shared and cherished with your loved one and her offspring until old age...

Life / How to Politely Refuse a Drink in Poland [72]

Tell them you're a student at Moravian College

they might take that at face value and take you for a bohemian artist in making and thus expect you to drink even more

Life / How to Politely Refuse a Drink in Poland [72]

yeah ok but that's unfair, let's even up the odds...

Glutton's weapon : a sturdy ladle

Driver's weapon: a leather-bolstered steering wheel

Life / How to Politely Refuse a Drink in Poland [72]

A heavy weight glutton VS a drunk driver, who would win??

Glutton's special ability: Burning vomit (due to the high concentration of gastric acid)

Driver's special ability: Road-rage

Work / Poland or Hungary - which one for my scholarship? [26]

Once I met a girl from Hungary named Boglarka. Upon hearing her name I tactfully replied: "This sounds like a tractor brand name". Fortunately she was even more drunk than me so my faux pas went seemingly unnoticed.

What is the relevance of this? Well it seems like they (Hungarians) can drink with manners (unlike me).

Life / 2 months to go - I will be a Polish citizen and try to find a better place to raise my kid. [67]

My kid is fine ,thank God I got the cash to pay for all the vaccines which are free in others EU countries and here cost a fortune Poland sucks so bad ...... could go on with details but you guys will never want to see the truth .

C'mon give us some details, don't be so cheap. All right I'll give you one PZN per detail, the gory ones 2 PZN a piece.

and yes I will no pass on no Polish culture to my Kid ,however tough, his mother speaks Polish and he will grow up bilingual

By the looks of it there won't be much of a culture to pass from your side anyway, but at least make sure your kid learns how to count money. Leave the culture part to his mum.

will get is my right to do it so you can suck it up and get over and yes I don`t even speak your ugly language ... by the way.

You don't even speak English perhaps your kid will give you some pointers in a few years.

and yes I will leave for a better place in another note just got a mobile in a shop the same mobile in the UK is 20 GBP here I paid 70 !!! give me a break .....

Damn, what kind of deals do you make? No wonder you strayed so far away from your flock... anyways I retract my previous statement, let the mum teach your kid about the value of money.

Thank God is just to month to go 4 years here have been way too much so time to stop trying and get real

Man I would stop trying too, if I were you. No worries it looks like your parenthood will be a breeze. You don't need to worry about the money (Your wife and later your kid will take care of you), no language and no culture to pass on... hmm, easy peasy. So cheer up:)

Food / Why is it that some Polish people refuse to eat anything that is not Polish? [120]

How can you generalize everyone who's Polish over what food they eat?

Sure you can;

- Look ma, he eats pierogi!!

- Shhh child not so loud, he might be Polish...

- Really Polish, how'd you know ma??!

- See that yellow stuff sticking out of his socks, that's bigos.

- Ohhhh wow bigos, yeah he's Polish all right.

Easy :D

Many nationalities are very conservative about their food habits, sad really. From what I heard the Japanese are very adventurous always willing to try something new culinary wise. The Danes are pathetic, the sushi in Denmark started to become popular less than 10 years ago:(

News / Polish leader urges EU to keep generous aid funds [32]

can't answer that as I don't live in Poland, but it wouldn't suprise me as the BY economy is in shambles, soviet style state-run, so some goods overthere are bound to be cheap for Poles.
