UK, Ireland / Study about Polish immigrants in England [29]

I'm not sure it's the right place- ppl here are eiter somehow fascinated with Poland or hate it. They had to be interested enough to look on the web for this forum so the are not exactly a average English

News / 4th Polish Republic may re-emerge [244]

So no, Lenka, .you needn't change your views, but there's nothing sotpping you thinking and analysing things a bit. Your compatriots ave a nice saying: 'Najpierw pomyśl, to nic nie kosztuje!

The fact that I don't agree with you doesn't mean I don't think and analyse. As I said- I'm left- wing supporter partly because I can't see any conservative party allowing ppl to live their life how they want it (please do note I mean ppl that do not harm others).

As on the topic- I felt bad in Poland when the IV RP idea was going into action and on every election I make sure with my one little, silly vote that it will never happen again.

So such term as prawactwo. But the rightist root is found insuch words as prawy, prawo, prawowity, and prawda -- all the things the lefist scumballs lack!

And do you think I should change my views because of etymology? I don't care what negative conotations one can find- I'm more interested in what the ideas behind right and left are. And the left side is simply more appealing to me.

Love / Asking her family for permission to propose to my Polish girlfriend? [28]

it is a nice gesture, assuming your future wife is close with her parents and that they are relatively traditional

True. Nice gesture and appreciated by the more conservative part of society (but not only by them)

Rather than asking for their permission, ask for their blessing.

I agree completely (especially if they are religious ppl)

News / Palikot - too liberal/modern for Poland? [197]

"The rate of homosexual versus heterosexual child sexual abuse is staggering," said Reisman, who was the principal investigator for an $800,000 Justice Department grant studying child púrnography and violence. "Abel,s data of 150.2 boys abused per male homosexual offender finds no equal (yet) in heterosexual violations of 19.8 girls."

All the sexual abuse I heard about (6 cases, ppl I know personally) were situations when man abused girl and all included family members. Sad but true.

Love / Fresh, wholesome country lass in Poland - getting married and going back to the US [167]

A guy that REQUIRES girl to be "pure" doesn't deserve her "innocence". At least I, when I was pure and innocent, would put a guy like that on my "no way" list in a second. Especially if he'd not be a virgin anymore.

because men are better than that.
The can have a relationship with hundreds of women in a row and would be less affected that a woman after ten relationships.

So this is as Harry said simple fear of competition? Pathetic.

I'm on the left side of the barricade. Mostly because of the fact that I want ppl who do not harm others to have the right to live how they want

We will see Polonius. We have different views so I hope you're wrong but that's not why I think it's all rubbish- polls are simply there to entertain ppl in my opinion

Ok, I as a Polish woman feel quite disguasted. The description sounds more like he's looking for a piece of meat and not inteligent women that would become his companion. And the age limit...What is it- he is ok at 50 but the girl is too old if she turned 30? Sorry Polonius- I would like to be more helpful but I can't see how any sound women would be tempted by this "add"

History / Comparing Poland's communist-era slogans and propoganda with modern day concepts [23]

For example when you posted that there is Third Reich government in Antarctica- maybe some photos, documents and so on? If it is a government they should be recognised as such by other countries, have some country to rule and so on. If they don't have it they are just a bunch of loonies.

That's what I'm talking about when I ask you to prove your point.

Life / Poland's expats' colonial mentality? [176]

I suggest that Paulina and yourself look at yourselves rather than 'the other'. It will do you good.

I try to do that. If someone's tells me something is wrong I check if his/her comment is true. And I was never patronizing to others.

However, this is only your perception of the world. It does not follow that all or even most in 'the west' necessarily see the world in such terms.

I do not see any better or worse countries and as a consequence I don't think my country is worse. If I did think that I would emigrate.

Life / Poland's expats' colonial mentality? [176]

I wish the Poles and Polonians on PF would show the same outrage when certain people spread BS about Russians, Germans, Jews, Americans etc. on this forum...

I understand what you mean but sorry- Poland is my homeland. Of course it's closer to my heart. It's natural- our famly is more important to us than strangers. And please believe me I removed many posts with blanket statements about other countries.

Paulina
Standing ovation from me. I often wondered how to put my feelings and observations into words but never managed to do it. You took the cake. Thanks :)
