History / Why is Poland weaker than Russia? [390]

I think it's because Poles are the most envious jealous mfers on the planet. Whereas other countries come together during a time of trouble, that's been impossible for Poles. It was that way during the Commonwealth, ww2 and it's like that today. Poles simply don't like to cooperate with each other even the nationalists. There's some dozens factions all pretending to support each other but really they're competing. Idk why Poles have such a tough time.with that...

Poland has still some way to go before it reaches the standards of Western Europe in this regard.

But do Poles want this, or merely do you think you're acting as Polish people's savior consistent with the 'baizou' mindset? Far as I can tell most Poles just want to make more money. But turning Poland into some multi kulti pro homo society... Not interested....

I can kind of imagine what went on...

The men on board the plane were mad at the women for taking too long to get ready making everyone late. They tried to make up for lost time so as not to upset the Czar and hauled ass. As they approached they hit thick fog. Since they were already in the area they said **** it just land were already late asf and got sloppy. It didn't help that the pilot was under pressure and his navigator didn't speak fluent Russian

that deviant human behaviour patterns occur independent of race

Than why are the majority of grooming gangs comprised of Muslim men? Why are Muslims overwhelming the ones who commit terrorism? Why are blacks responsible for the majority of violent crime in the US despite being 14% of the population. Yet somehow e Asians, Indians, and Europeans aren't committing murders, rape and terror en masse. Sure you can't deny that certain races disproportionately commit more violent crimes than others when all the facts and stats show prove it

Idk how long you've been around Poles or if you live in Poland, are familiar with Polish society, etc. One thing I can tell you and perhaps you already know this is that Poles love complaining and aren't too good at returning a solid. Poles will thank you for a gift, favor etc but returning one in kind may be a different story. Poles also tend to be among the most jealous, envious and gossipy peoples. At the same time we'll always complain how wqeve been wronged which in many cases we have a point, but its something they won't ever move on from. It's like a woman who remembers that one thing you said during a fight exactly 837 days ago and won't live it down no matter how much you try to make up for it.

Thus, I wouldn't expect Poles and Polish leadership to back off nordstream 2 anytime soon. The whole reparations thing will keep coming up too.

Law / Recording someone in private - is it legal in Poland? [14]

Yeah jurisdiction is a tricky thing. Usually with cases involving extradition a defendant either committed crimes in Poland and became a fugitive or they committed crimes in one country that affected Poland or Poles, for example defrauding a Pole or Polish company or the government from another country or trafficking drugs from one country to Poland. Almost never does a country seek extradition for misdemeanors. Some countries like Israel outright refuse to extradite even for the most serious crimes. In other cases countries won't extradite to countries where their crime could result in the death penalty. So if say a murderer comits a murder in USA and flees to Canada the government won't extradite, but then us could lower the charge to like 2nd degree murder or manslaughter in which case Canada would extradite. Right now El chapo is the biggest extradition case going on in the world. The US tried to get him for decades. Now everyone is rolling on him to save their own asses. Mexico didn't want to extradite him though because trying him locally and putting him in jail was a propaganda win for the government. However, after two escapes and realizing how easily his organization could corrupt jail officials they relented and agreed to extradition.

In terms of cyber crime it becomes even more convoluted. That's why numerous countries collaborate with each other and interpol to catch offenders. This happens especially with dark Web drug and gun markets and pedo sites.

With civil cases it's different though. If someone wants to sue you in Poland or us or whatever and move and can't be served there's not much they can do.

History / Arthur Szukalski - Polish sculptor [6]

I never heard of him but he was ridiculously popular in both Poland and the USA before Ww2. Unfortunately the Nazis destroyed much of his works. Ironically they tried to hire him to sculpt Hitler and Goering but rejected him when he sent a sample of Hitler as a ballerina.

Dude had one hell of an imagination that's for sure. Some of his works are like out of this world and he had so many different styles. I found out several of his works are on permanent display at the Polish museum in Chicago which I'll have to check out.

Crow would especially love his works as many are influenced by pre Christian Slavic mythology

News / Mass-media in Poland: which are left wing, right wing or centrist? [44]

That is so not true. The agriculture and food processing industries are a big chunk of gdp and among the largest in the EU. In terms of sheer employment and revenues food processing/agriculture are the largest industries in Pl.

Also the benefits Polish farmers receive are relative to how many hectares their farm is.

That statistic gets pulled up time and time again, and it only works if you consider PO and N. to be separate parties.

On the same token if you add kukiz and pis it forms a slight majority.

Many Poles aren't fond of German interference. Pis is merely using a popular opinion to their political advantage. This sentiment picked up even more after 2015 when Germany specifically Merkel was dictating what Poles should do in their own country. When Merkel demanded Poland share the burden she invited in and called for her fellow eu cronies to fine Poland it really upset Poles and pis seized on that. Also, Po is considered by many to be German boot lickers and lap dogs pushing German interests in Poland, oftentimes ahead of Polish interests. So of course they'll bring Germany t hl

Far as I recall pis regularly made statements about the German dominance in media and banking which many Poles are sick and tired of.

Germany regularly interferes in Polands politics so no reason why Poles shouldn't do the same. It'd only be fair... Nonetheless Polish influence in Germanys politics, economics, etc is far far smaller than Germanys influence on Poland.

They even had the gall to demand we let in non eu people into our country because Merkel made a foolish decision inviting 1-2 million third worlders and they couldn't cope.

Dirk, the whole point is that saying, for ex. Jews are natural-born business genii

They're not, BUT due to a long history of engaging in finance, trade, etc which was for thousands of years guided by their own survival guide in foreign lands, it certainly isn't a stretch to say engaging business especially finance is deeply rooted in the Jewish community.

the Fed Board of Directors is mostly Jewish

Fed, 4/5 of the largest media conglomerates, half the Supreme Court, dozens of senators and Congressman with dual us Israeli citizenship, most execs of large banks, majority of Hollywood, etc etc despite being a tiny.fraction of the US population... Whether that's racist or not doesn't change the fact that it's true that Jews are overrepresented in media, government and finance.. You'd expect more Latinos and blacks or even Poles to occupy these positions since they make up an exponentially larger chunk of the population yet that's not the case.

Jews were overrepresented in areas, once again, in which it was felt that a shortage area existed,

No, they went into trades influenced by their religious teachings and environment namely their own community. There's a big demand for welders and truckers yet I don't see Jews overrepresented in the welding or trucking profession. That's becayse the Talmud considers that goy jobs which Jews shouldn't take.

Still, I'd much rather a government draw an ever increasing share of money from government owned companies than keep taxing people more and more. If Poland didn't have government owned companies it'd have a far smaller budget. Some countries rely especially where citizens are poor rely on these companies almost exclusively.

A president or minister can't just go to a government company especially a publicly traded one and demand money. For private ones yes, that is why well probably never see an aramco ipo. But yes obviously they will receive preferential treatment.

wiadomosci.radiozet.pl/Polska/Wojskowa-spolka-zawyzala-koszt-druku-matur.-Panstwo-stracilo-na-tym-miliony-zlotych

Messed up but unsurprising. This is common with government contracts all around the world. It's no different in the u.s. Even suburban municipal councils who decide which companies bid gets approved act like they are gods of the pantheon and have no qualms about subsidizing their government salaries with gifts and favors.

History / Arthur Szukalski - Polish sculptor [6]

Just watched this video about a Polish artist (sculptor mostly) that was apparently quite famous, but haven't heard of him. I've seen the topor/eagle before, but never put two and two together.

Anyway, it's on Netflix called Struggle: The Life And Lost Art of Szukalski. Pretty good watch. Dude lived through WW1, interwar Poland, WW2 and then spent the rest of his time in USA. He died before he saw Poland independent of the commies. Pretty good watch. The movie is produced by Leonardo DiCaprio who's father (a producer) along with a few other names like Ben Hecht (original Scarface, Gone With The Wind, etc.) was friends with Szukalski.

Here is preview.

Books like Jews - Why are they rich?,Secrets of the Talmud, Secret of Jewish success etc are some of the most popular books in China. In fact Chinese bookstores have

Now lyzko is that racist, antisemitic? On one hand Jews don't like being considered as disproportionately holding wealth but on the other hand they don't mind writing/editing books about the secrets of Jewish wealth. On one hand they don't like the stereotype that they hold power, on the other they flaunt organizations like Aipac, adl, etc reach and clout internationally. They don't want to be considered as running media, yet no problem when a Jewish outlet prints an article titled do Jews control Hollywood? You bet! But God forbid marlin brando or Mel Gibson repeat that...

So what is it? Or is it kind like the situation with blacks calling each other n**gers but you can't if you're not black?

I dont know what your strike was about but i wonder what kind of websites you were visiting in the meantime

I didn't participate in any strike.... Also it is good for people especially the Muslim apologists and liberals to see Muslims acting out passages of the Koran on video, in this case striking at the kuffars necks. Seeing as a significant chunk of Muslims including those in Europe want sharia law, which is based on a strict interpretation of the Koran, these is what awaits more Europeans if they keep coddling them and letting them overtake the continent demographically.

Once third worlders stop raping thousands upon thousands of European women every year I won't talk about it. Till they stop, I will bring it up as it is something that deserves to have awareness.

It's quite sad you'd want silence discussion about something awful that has affected and will continue to affect thousands of women and their families. Now that is being creepy.... Go tell the victims that you don't.want attention brought to the issue and to what they suffered. And they're the lucky ones atleast they escaped without being beheaded unlike the two Scandinavian girls who's necks were enriched by Moroccans.

Part of the independence day March this year and every year since the migrant crisis is Polish women giving speeches and hoisting banners I.e. Rapefugees not welcome explaining they don't want that **** in Poland

This was a particularly powerful speech by a Polish woman

Poland is the last European ethnic wilderness of the E.U.

The other v4 countries are faring well too. If I were a parent who had a kid in a grade school where speakers of a European language are a tiny minority and Arabic the majority I'd certainly be moving too. That's the situation countless parents are finding themselves in all over Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, etc. I certainly wouldn't want to live next to people who require courses and fliers telling them it's not okay to sexually assault women either and I'm sure those with young daughters are concerned about that too especially with the thousands of sexually assaults occurring every year. The worst thing is that if you kill or maim a rapist you'll be one in trouble even though the police have a totally inadequate response and even when they're caught the sentence they receive is a joke - one year, two years for a rape no double digit sentences handed down. Many of them even get to stay and aren't deported.

More and more Europeans are aware of these facts and left or right no one wants to see their wife or daughter raped or walk around in a city where now soldiers always have their finger on the trigger and there's concrete barriers to prevent cultural enrichment. If they can't afford to move to an ever increasingly expensive safe mostly white area they'll look for other options. This is especially true for seniors who don't want to deal with this bs in their golden years and are frustrated seeing what has happened with their native home.

Doug they already are. There's thousands of retirees that have moved to Poland from w Europe especially France. Hell you even moved to Poland from the west. There's also a lot of corporate types coming from France, Italy, Portugal, etc especially the banking sector for some reason. This trend is only going to pick up not just in Poland but the other v4 countries

But flooding? No not quite especially compared to.the Ukrainians. However there is more tourists from the west than ever before. Wroclaw got 5 mil tourists last year. Everyday there's dozens tour groups full of seniors from Germany and France and hotels are full of.them. An increasing number of those w European tourists see Poland for the basically crime free homogenously European wonderland where there's no barriers in the markets to prevent spontaneous cultural enrichment and they decide get a vacation home or to move altogether.

And Poland is certainly not an environment for the rich. You compare prices of real estate and common non imported consumer goods in Warsaw to Paris London and now even Berlin and it's far cheaper let alone compared to a place like Zurich/Basel/Geneva or Monaco or Lake Como.

Certainly it helps to be wealthy like any country. But a middle class person coming from the west with a bit of savings will have a far better life in Poland. Even for younger people who have a higher education and in demand skills they can get a good job in Poland.

Yup, the supposed (witch) doctors and (mud hut) engineers that were suppose to fill the labor shortage and make Germany great again. Not only did it do nothing to address the labor shortage, the tax paying Germans now have more of their money going to provide for people who aren't even citizens and pay nothing into the system. Germany spends around 25 bil a year providing for migrants - more than it spends on education. By 2020 it will have spent 100 bil. That money could've given every homeless German citizen a nice home.

The EU at Merkels behest did indeed try to fine Poland 2 bil euro for not taking migrants. Of course since several other countries have also since refused or made plans to cull their existing migrant population or basically force them to work and assimilate, their plans failed. Now even in Germany people are fed up with Merkels cultural suicide which is why afd rose up in popularity so much and her party is at a low.

youtu.be/3YTe5YNHBQA

Thing is, everything he said in the video above is true.

Migrants want to escape countries with low benefits to places like Germany where the average migrant receives 1200 eu a month not counting other expenses like education and medicine, America built itself up because there were no handouts at Ellis Island, and Europe is being flooded with human garbage that does not want to work as evidenced by the 75% unemployment rate for 5+ years in Germany (99% for asylum seekers) as an example.

Many pension funds also invest heavily on the stock market to provide greater than inflation returns.

Yeah more often than not its mutual funds.

the pension funds should be banned from gambling on the stock market anyway

Many people agree especially those who lost a ton of money when apple, facebook and a few others dropped.

At the same time, pensions for government employees from teachers to janitors to cops to administrators making 400k a year, are the reason why so many municipalities and even whole states are either bankrupt or on the verge of bankruptcy.

One thing that is much better about Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, etc and many countries is that the government has its own multi billion dollar companies from which they gain money for their budgets. The US doesn't have that - it relies solely on taxpayers which is an ever shrinking pool as the labor force participation rate keeps is constantly declining while at the same the overall population grows. A lot of these municipalities even ones as big as Chicago/Cook county are constantly debating whether to use ever dwindling resources to fund pensions, fix potholes, hire more cops, etc. Poland does a much better job at funding pensions. In fact, the pension system is quite generous for many professions. My cousin went into being a corrections officer because they basically retire by the time they're 50. She'll only do the job for something like 20 years and that's it.

Why would western European investors want to go all in , when the government insists on a controlling share?

Government control isn't the problem it's management and certain obstructionist policies. There's tons of Russian, cis, Gulf, Latam giants with government control that keep western investors happy. Aside from when an issue results in arbitration most western shareholders are happy.

Poland still sees a lot of FDI arguably the most or one of the most in eastern Europe. But there is little investment in greenfield Ventures which really drives growth rates the most and where the most innovation occurs. Most investment is expansion of existing franchises, acquisitions, joint ventures but now there's less foreign capital investing in the larger Polish companies. The Polish bond market is doing better now though.

Are you trying to suggest that the government no longer "interferes" in its business?

Of course they do. Most the wig30 companies are controlled by government directly or indirectly.

I should've have been more specific - it was partially privatized.

Constant rotation of top execs at these large Polish firms is nothing new esp since eu accession. Its not just under pis it was the same thing under po. Personally idk why they do this. Oftentimes it's better to keep a bad ceo and limit their power by not allowing them to have chairmanship and other means instead of constantly rotating them. Quite frankly it's just bad business practice.

Law / Recording someone in private - is it legal in Poland? [14]

If it can be proven that mooli made the call in Poland then yes Poland would have jurisdiction. If a crime is committed across sovereign borders it falls under interpol and where that person committed the crime. Although yes if it was repeated numerous times with no violent threats it could fall under stalking. He would first have to establish a crime was committed and that Poland has jurisdiction. Nonetheless even with those things I highly doubt Polish courts would be bothered to pursue this criminally unless there were repeated violent threats, then they could get involved but more than likely would simply contact mooli and tell him to cut it out and threaten prosecution if it happens again. Doug could sue in civil court but it'd be an uphill battle.

It's one thing to poke fun at a situation as I often do even towards Poland, US, trump etc. But having clear malice towards something a person holds dear whether it be their country, friend, family is another story so obviously it'll elicit a reaction. When doug has repeatedly called Poles stupid, backward, etc and independence day celebrations a circle jerk, something that my own family bled and died for us to celebrate, I'm going to call him out on it and ask him if he'd repeat those things to his neighbors, his students, etc and how they'd perceive him if they knew he was saying such things

@Spike31

Pretty much. Poland is one of the most socially conservative countries in Europe no matter how much a few leftists here try to spin things. Regardless of a person's politics, the facts and stats don't lie - 3/4 of Poles don't want migrants from Africa or middle east, majority don't support gay marriage, and vast majority identify as roman catholic. Hell half of Poles don't even want Ukrainians let alone people from places like Afghanistan or Morocco. We're keenly aware of the problems that bringing in hordes of these people in because so many Poles worked and traveled abroad. Poles are also very patriotic and nationalism is popular due to the history of the country and tradition of Poles resisting and fighting invaders even against all odds. Poles young and old aren't going to allow their country to become some multi kulti cultural Marxist society like Germany and have nonstop terror attacks and thousands upon thousands of rapes at the hands of third world migrants. Poles aren't interested in that or being PC.

Travel / Can't eat onion and going to Poland, tips on food needed [11]

explosive dhiarroea, resulting in a sore anus

Better a sore anus from diarrhea than something else...

Am I doomed?

No. I hate onions and never had an issue finding food in Poland without it

Any suggested restaurants that cater to intolerances and alergies? Will people understand the issue easily?

People will understand. One of my cousins is vegetarian so he always asks about the meat content in things like sauces for example. They've always been accommodating, except for once when they served him a bowl of chicken noodle soup. I doubt you'll have issues. I'd mainly stick to restaurants that are located within the rynek since as a rule of thumb they tend to be very good. They also deal with a lot of foreigners so they're use to accommodating all sorts of people.

I'd avoid pierogi are often fried alongside onions and/or onions are served as a garnish.

Law / UK born, want to move to Poland. Rules? [17]

The hike was the most interesting part actually. There's a hill close by that has a strange effect where if you put a bottle on it it rolls upward instead of downward, but unfortunately I couldn't test it for myself as there was too much snow.

What I'm saying is that while the idea of living in a remote area certainly sounds romantic there's a lot of things people don't consider until they're in that situation and then it's too late. Like let's say I had to drive somewhere or catch a plane or whatever. Well good luck with that unless you're going to walk because there's no snow plows. If someone is retired, doesnt have kids, etc and can spend their days tending their land and knows how to live off the resources around them then it's doable. But otherwise I don't think so. Then you'll be cursing backward ass poland and hopping on the next plane back to Heathrow.

All I'm saying is the decision to live in a rural/remote area should be carefully considered especially in a foreign country. If someone wants to live in a place where they have the privacy, nature, small town feel the suburbs and villages even as little as 5 10 minutes from the city borderline is a good middle ground because you atleast have the infrastructure. For example from wroclaw city center or rynek within a 10 15 km drive you're already hitting rural villages. You can even catch a train or bus going from most of these villages to wroclaw like zajaczkow, szewce, etc. Where the population is a few hundred to a thousand.
