News / The consequences of a PiS electoral victory [22]

there would be absolutely no reason for Poland to get involved one way or another.

Well!! the Missile base was seen by Putin to be an act of war. Perhaps , Poland will not have the option of being neutral, the big players will just walk freely into God's Playground.

News / The consequences of a PiS electoral victory [22]

I'll stick with Smolensk -

Also, the situation of war over Iran, Russia would side with Iran and China and North Korea against the rest. Poland would be under extreme pressure as a go between. PIS would allow the West to use Poland as a position of attack, or something. Could be a strange scenario, gas would be off, for sure.

News / Poland versus Greece in economy [175]

The Polish economy is a house of cards.
I make this point on every thread related to the topic of Poland and how it didn't go into recession bla bla bla. It's just turns into a circul"ar argument and when they are proven wrong they will say "if you say the sky is going to fall for long enough ,you'll eventually be right.

Law / Child Alimony in Poland - 1700 PLN? [74]

Law / Child Alimony in Poland - 1700 PLN? [74]

In Poland there's no 20% limit

yes, but 20% is average. If you, say, demanded 40% and the guy then can't afford his own rent, well then !!, the dog eats its own tail ans everyone loses. The courts have to be reasonable or the guy just runs. Maybe different in Muslim countries etc, maybe they remove a ball or something if he refuses to marry.

Law / Child Alimony in Poland - 1700 PLN? [74]

He should pay at least half his wage

maybe, but legally about 20 % so paying more will be goodwill, not law.

Law / Child Alimony in Poland - 1700 PLN? [74]

Well! it could be 4 times that if he's a big earner, but the percentage is about 20%..... and if married, his wife's wages could be included in the 20 %.

Law / Child Alimony in Poland - 1700 PLN? [74]

I don't know the background to the poster, maybe he is rich, but about 20 % of earnings is about the amount, courts will demand for one child. So if working in Poland and on the average income,1700 is far tooooooo high I'm sure sure 400 zloty is all that could be legally demanded if earning an average net wage of 2000 zl

Travel / Lublin ruined by arrival of Ryanair [33]

what is the logic behind the costumes?

One word ..Saturnalia

After meeting idiotic female friends, back home on hen nights plastered, with cock shaped hats, cock straws, and T shirts with "I love cock" written on them. I began to think....,,since I knew these women for years and knew them to be squares, boring, catholic, and almost, afraid of cock. YES!!! its a form of Saturnalia, for boring office workers whose usual social life evolves around Coronation Street and Sex in the City.

The best part of the Saturnalia (for slaves) was the temporary reversal of roles. Masters served meals to their slaves who were permitted the unaccustomed luxuries of leisure and gambling. Clothing was relaxed and included the peaked woollen cap that symbolized the freed slave. A member of the familia (family plus slaves) was appointed Saturnalicius princeps, roughly, Lord of Misrule.

Travel / Lublin ruined by arrival of Ryanair [33]

investment that tourism

I can't see Lublin ever becoming a tourist destination for westerners. Not much to offer in comparison to other European cities. The flight will be full of eastern Poles coming home for holidays. In relation to investment, Lublin needs a road system, out.

UK, Ireland / Unemployed Poles in Ireland : a crash course in milking the system [323]

But they are still here! On the dole! Like I predicted.

so the final solution ye? I said they would never go home as long as Poland's average wage is twice as low as the Irish Dole. The Dole in Ireland needs to be seriously reduced for all tax payers, not just minorities, Nazi-boy,,Sean is right ,,you're too stupid..

UK, Ireland / Unemployed Poles in Ireland : a crash course in milking the system [323]

The dole in Ireland has been a gravy train for the last 25 years, the Poles are just taking advantage of it, like the Irish. Are you suggesting the Poles be kicked off it or everyone should be after a period of time. I reckon the dole in Ireland will be reduce by about 50% over the next year or so. I cant understand how the IMF haven't put the booth in,yet.

Not that i care for the opinion of a nazi.

Real Estate / Poland's apartment prices continue to fall [1844]

Polish households have load of cash and about 95% are mortgage free.

A new report on debt reveals that over 2.1 million Poles have trouble with repaying loan on time, with total arrears amounting to 30.9 billion zloty (7.8 billion euro)

Wasn't there a link given a while back showing Poland to have the lowest disposable income in the EU?

UK, Ireland / Poles becoming British subjects [39]

I wouldn't be so sure. Poles politically are far more likely to vote for the Tories in terms of social views.

Don't forget that the Tories were secretly loving the accession of Poland to the EU - lots of cheap labour, after all.

yes, fair point.

They're not getting them (80% refusal)anymore! as the "cash" tap from the west is no longer on full power; hence stricter bank regulation.

UK, Ireland / The Irish, the biggest tax evaders ever [21]

Yea, 4 guys building an extension in my sisters house two weeks ago. They all had to leave on Wednesday for a hour to sign on and get their "full" dole.. And people claim that there's a huge black economy in Poland, Piotr trading a jar of honey with Rafal for a few heads of cabbage; How else could they afford a mortgage of 15 times their salary.
