You have to do something radical with your life.

escaping from their own country isn't always a good choice... and it's hard on many levels...

it's not where you live, it's what you do.

Trust me, if you would ask anyone here if they were poor they would just tell you. Yeah, I don't have job and I’m dirt poor, my truck is falling apart, my house is a dump and I’m hunting raccoons for food. Most people here would have no problem with telling you how it really is.

I have seen people in Poland go to a fast food place and buy just the french fries and the store would charge extra for effing ketchup. My wife was laughfing at that for weeks and she wouldn't belive it.

that's just arrogant to say... good job provoking people :)

it is pretty cool, but the problem is there are many travel agencies and they do not do all that good...

do they live in a city?

yes, Krakow

when i talk with my family and friends, i hear about those kind of problems among young Poles all the time, and I can't understand why it's that bad, what they do wrong and how to turn the things around...

Opening a travel agency when you have no cash is nothing more than a dream.

they have some cash, but they want to put it as a down payment for an apt...

they can't even afford rent.

rents are high
and besides, it's just throwing away money to something which will never be yours

can they borrow money from family, as opposed to the bank?

they already did, it's worth of 20% down payment...

join the military

Polish army doesn't work like the American army

get free housing?

how so?

they really need to do something new, out-of-the-box

Let's get this straight 3,000 zl both, roughly 1500 a head, or one making a little more than the other. Anyhow, that's far less than the supposedly 3,600zl national average. Plus they obviously don't pay rent, maybe chip in for the bills.

I thought everyone on this Poland living there is saying how Poland has prospered in recent years.

i wonder about that too

there is a scheme to help first time buyers with new builds. i know nothing about it though.

i thought, it's not anymore?

Let's try to solve the problem of this young, Polish couple, living in today's Polish reality:

Age - both 27 years old.
Education - Both high ed.
She works as a clerk.
He works in a private company.
Monthly salary - together 3,000 zlotych.
Married.
Living with parents.
They want to buy or rent an apartment.
If they rent, there is so little money left to the next paycheck.
Bank refused to give them a loan for an apartment because they do not make enough money.
They have a nice amount of money for a down payment.

What do you think they should do to be on their own?

i too would probably be looking unhappy outside.

why?

when it is technology, sure, i'll always be boss. other than such things, i can imagine my lady will be arrogant and she will always prefer to show herself as boss to people. heck, it is ok. but, i'll keep my foot on the brake while she is driving in the car.
