Off-Topic / Does anyone else find Cygans fascinating? [60]

? I find gypsies fascinating even though they are annoying and I feel a small amount of pity for them.

I find them theiving kvnts who are chavy and inbred....No pitty whatsoever...But Im on about Irish Gypos! They take land in the UK without permission and have a cheek to call themselves "traveller" WTF!

Life / Are Border Collies popular in Poland? [30]

those are true beauties as well, although hunting dogs and ideally need a lot of attention as well.

You would think, but my bro and his wife work full time and the dog gets walked twice a day (a good hour each time - but they live out in the sticks and the dog get to run up and down hills when he goes out!) and seems to be happy with that...But I think they've evolved more to be domestic pets..I love our Furgus :) He's the best dog in the whole wide world..He's soooooooo laid back temperment wise :D He must take after my sister-in-law..defo not my bro! LOL.

Sheep dogs are good pets too, my mates sis has one (he was brough over from a family farm in Ireland) and he's a gem!

most ppl keeps borders, aussies in cages in home, apartament anyway,

Thats just phucking horrid...Cages are for sleeping..not to be locked in...The whole idea of the cage came out of some research that dogs needed their own space, not so they were to be locked in there because people cant be bothered with them..

I know that. I have a huge, really huge park 2 minutes away from my place. My worry is if the dog will like living in the apartment.

I dont really see this is as a MAJOR problem if you have the time to take the dog out - or say for instance you have a reitred neighbour who would like to get out..Lets face its dog walking is a sociable thing..so its does you a favour and gets them out of their flat? Maybe its different in Poland but in England dog walking is almost like baby and mother clubs they all meet up in the local park and give their dogs a good run and have a good gossip :D

hm, sounds tempting, but this will be next year.

Its a good option, whilst these dogs may have issues, they also need love and as I said my mates sis has a Collie from a family farm in Ireland and he is the most loving dog ever..When they come up north to visit my mate he comes and is spoilt rotten...All dogs need is a good run and lots of love...

I got a really big park 2 minutes away:). I know it will need a lot of exercise. Any dog is happy when it is walked and gets a lot of exercise, but I know that BC are even more demanding. trust me.

You can buy a special harness that you attach to yourself so when you go for a run the dog runs too (not sure if this is popular in Poland but I see a few in my local park..) You're the sporty type so I reckon the Collie will be tired before you are LOL :D

History / In Memory of victims, who had their lives cruelly taken at Treblinka Death Camp in Poland [104]

Isnt it about time we all moved on and remember that when we keep saying "Germans" these are the Germans of yesteryears and not the ones we share a union with now..We can debate the numbers till the cows come home, but we will never truely know the exact and true figures of those that perished in those camps..The Roma and vagrants the pregnant women whose unborn babies died the various nationalities that were exported and there are those that escaped and were lucky but were just listed as missing...This is a shameful part of our history in Europe, but we are now living in times where hopefully this will never happen in our countries again...

Can we just respects Miss B's post and just commemorate those who died, rather than debating the numbers.

And can people stop doing this stupid bracketed thing, its phucking irritating! MG did it first and I can deal with that..but copying is just really childish and just show no imagination whatsoever!

I agree with your post 99% but they do make good domestic pets too given the time and attention, but Aphro would need to live in an area with lots of outdoor space where the dog can have a good run, they're one of the most energetic breeds ever. There are some VERY good breeders in the UK since we have a lot of sheep farmers so maybe this is an option for Aphro? With lots of farms going to the wall means, unfortunatley dogs needing homes :(

Life / Are Border Collies popular in Poland? [30]

Also, does nay body on this board own one? I know it is a very active breed and it is actually a working dog.

My friend had them for years...whilst they are bred for working (farms - sheep herding etc), they're also BRIILIANT pets..so loving and REALLY REALLY inteligent! I would advise a good obedience class to ensure the pup gets some good grounding though and if you're working full time get a dog walker or a friend to take it out in the day...

Good choice..

No so keen on the Lassie type Collie though..I got bit by one of those fekers as a kid!

I love the German Wirehaired Pointers..they are truely a beautiful dog with a placid temperment..my brother has one and its the nicest dog Ive ever met! Even when my the baby pulls his tail he's never even snapped!

History / In Memory of victims, who had their lives cruelly taken at Treblinka Death Camp in Poland [104]

What got me was the tour was at such a speed, using soundbite terms like "factory of death"

The second time I went to Krakow, we hired the cab driver for a day that picked us up at the airport when we arrived which meant we could look round at our leisure..I would definately recommend this, I learnt a lot more, but I still found it clinical.

this one?

Yes and looking at now is quite upsetting, first visit was in the baking heat of summer the second was in a freezing February...I remember going to the top of the tower pictured and looking round and seeing how many huts there had been..It made me feel quite sick to think of how many people died there.

to commemorate. To recognise, to acknowledge

I think thats what I said when I said to "remember" :D

Oh yeah Poles profted, Poles must PAY the Jews! Mac Holocaust is rolling :))))

A bit like the thread where Poles think that the HMG owes them? Even though 1,000s settled here, integrated and have made very good lives for themselves...Funny how that generation dont seem to have an issue with Britain and only the younger generation who weren't hardly affected by communism seem to think the world owes them something!

Anyway, thanks Miss B, brilliant thread and fantastic photos..

Love / 'Battered husbands' - still a taboo subject in Poland [387]

I say give a bloke a good slap now and again to let him know his place..also abuse his credit card to make him feel wanted..you have to have an even balance...wouldnt you agree?

History / In Memory of victims, who had their lives cruelly taken at Treblinka Death Camp in Poland [104]

Strange title. This place is cursed. And this name is cursed as well.

When we say "In Memory of ...." its meant to be respectful, not to celebrate or even to honor, just to remember in a dignified way.

I think Auschwitz is a bit of a circus

I feel quite horrid saying this but I thought it was clinical and the brick buildings and tree lined roads reminded me of a Barrats housing estate...The other site where the railway tracks lead to was very different and had more of an impact on me though.

I was also at the KGB museum in Vilno once

There's place in Budapest a bit like that..

Love / Polish citizen in the UK: I made a mistake and now she won't forgive me, help! [57]

It teaches me to never tell an employer I visit social sites!

Indeed..To be honest, I hardly visit FB, it irritates me reading about how someone is about to have a cup of tea WTH are people thinking when they write such drivel?

Anyway back to the poor chaps plight...will he come back and tell us all he's beat the cr*p out of his school friend and has won the heart of his fair lady?

History / Why did the reformation not have a huge effect on Poland? [28]

Now I am not a total history buff, but I was watching a series on the history of Scotland which was heavily affected by the Reformation of the Church. However, I don't see much evidence of it here in Poland. Is there a particular reason for this?

The church was as corrupt as the Pakistani cricket team...Plus there was the whole power thing church v state...

Read Dissolution by C J Sansom, it'll give you a good insight in an interesting way.

Love / Maintenance for child born between Irish/Polish parents. [60]

If he goes back to Poland, at the most he will have to pay a percentage of his income,so he may only have to pay about 30 euro a week max.

He's paying fek all at the moment so its more than the baby gets now..besides, I dont think you're getting the point milky, its not really about the money, its about him being responsible and acknowledging his son.

Love / Maintenance for child born between Irish/Polish parents. [60]

Since that day I have stopped answering his calls.

Good move, now get on the phone to the CSA (Im assuming they have that in Ireland?) and start the ball rolling...You have been reasonable, in fact I'd say too bloody reasonable (he's a low life!), now its time to take some action and make him realise that there are consequencies for his actions - if he does dissapear to back to Poland, remember you have been told that any court actions pertaining to him owning your child money will follow him there - he can run but he cant hide :D

One more bit of advice, find a nice Irish man...They're better looking (IMO) and know the craic!

Love / How to find an English speaking boyfriend in Poland [110]

If I was about 156cm than I could be considered "large" if I was wearing those sizes, but since Im 172cm (well Im .5 inches above but I thought I'd round it down) it hardly makes me "large" ....Besides Ive been a size 8 and I look mingingly skinny for my height..the size 12 is for my top half because I wasnt exactly left wanting in the bust department...Which cant be said for a lot of women of certain other nationalities :(

Women are meant to have curves and not supposed to look like prepubescent boys...The herion addict look is not what I aspire to

Short and fat, are ya, Amathyst...

172cm and a size 10 / 12 so hardly...short or fat, trener zolwia..

And he's completely clueless as well.

It would appear so..It seems to be the standard insult, all English women must be short and fat because they happen to be English :D

Life / Any treatment centres for homos in Poland? [455]

What are u talking about? U would like that experience? Go ahead. in normal hetero conditions it's usually a consens between the 2 partners. If not it's rape. OK?

Who is soddomising women? Are u living in the stone-ages?

The act of annal penetration is generally known as soddomy...And there are plenty of men that do this and there are plenty of women that enjoy it (for some strange reason)...There are also plenty of men that quite enjoy a butplug up their bottom - these men are not gay..they just happen to like it because that's where their G spot is...Judging by your frustrated posts, we should have a wip round and buy you one you might find it rather liberating!

Nothing to do with the stone ages...I can now just imagine you and your missus doing it missioinary with the lights off with her poleyester nightdress hitched up!

When it comes to the kind of people who started this thread, the best treatment is a double injection of 9.1grams of copper to the centre of the chest.

Thats too good for him, we should tie him up naked on Canal Street in Manchester..not that any self-respecting gay man would touch him, but there are plenty of gangs of frustrated asian men who have been raping straight men in my city..maybe he'll get lucky if they happen to pass by!

Life / Any treatment centres for homos in Poland? [455]

I always wondered how come that the same guys who like to penetrate a girl in her arse condemn homosexuals for doing the same :)

Ive said this before...but aparently its okay if it's a woman they're soddomising! :D *The big smile is because it really does make me laugh*

To go one step further, how about the fact blokes love a finger/butplug up their ar*e? Obviously they'd never tell their mates that ;0)

Love / How to make a guy (Polish or other) happy? [62]

Its interesting reading all the posts on here..

Everyone adding their 2p worth..

Every relationship is different...so there are no hard and fast rules...Just be happy and enjoy the moment and never try to change the person you're with...You were attracted to them and fell in love with them for a reason...this is what a LOT of people seem to forget and this is what ruins most relationships.

Travel / My (short) Poland experiences - bad luck? [142]

right after I learn you english grammar and spelling.

Sounding rather "deep South" :D

E.g. my wife being repeatedly ignored when the glasses were being filled around the table.

Fek that, Id have just taken the bottle! ;0)

I think it's a good thing that people can come here and attempt to improve and converse in another language that aint their's.

Maybe that bi*tch Z should improve her attitude!

Travel / Poland-My 9-day experience [239]

And I mean it... lots of drunk old people.

Fek me, you're from Ireland and your complaining about drunken people?

plus the fact that we Brits also , like Poland, have had certain economic problems for years.

Not exactly a brilliant comparison...Britain has had boom bust, boom bust..etc etc..Poland just had a miserable existence (economically) for a long time due to being cut off from the outside world...Not because of incompetent governments and greedy consumers..

Agreed - we hate it too, but it becomes part of the adventure and a perfect illustration of the weird way we Brisitsh have of doing things sometime,

Our transport system is excellent - we have high speed rail links and metro systems in cities..nothing strange about that..When I go to Prague I have to take a bus to the metro and than change twice to get the centre...Where as in the UK most if not all airports have a direct link to the respective city, if they dont they have a bus/coach service..so you're talking boll*cks! Please dont make Britain out to be backwards and a bit slow!

Life / How can Polish immigrants complain about other immigrants? [65]

*astonished, actually*

Im rather pleased... :D

But if my block started to fill up with Somalis or Pakistanis, I'd be out of here faster than you can say lokshen kugel!

We both know that is NEVER going to happen :D

This having said, I work with a Somali girl, and no problems. Very nice person.

Now Im astonished..A somali that works..I dont believe you! ;0)

What I noticed was that at one point lots of Antipodeans worked in pubs and sandwich bars but slowly the accents changed to those of South Africa.

Safers now need visas so their access is limited (those applying for a 1st visa that is), too many overstayers and other africans faking SA passports....Ausis come here on WHVs and work for the full 2 years and are also prone to overstaying...

Hard to complain about Nigerians in PL

Give it time ;0) Judging by the posts from our colonial cousins...Poland is the next destination :D

Life / How can Polish immigrants complain about other immigrants? [65]

Somalia - similar, but more inclined to work as a pack

Actually they are the least likely to work at all.

I mean, think of all the australians and south africans who can't get jobs in sandwich bars now.

Its funny you say that, over the past couple of years Ive noticed that all the receptionists in various companies in London I have to ring have replaced those hideous accents with Easter Europeans :D Its music to my ears!!

China - DVD dealers; crooks, but useful; harmless

You forgort to mention they are the largest illegal immigrants in the UK and are responsible for most if not all of the canabis factories in the UK - couple that with the violence in their communities and the the fraud they commit..Not as harmless as you'd like to think. I dont mind them though because they do seem to keep it within their own communities in general (apart from the canabis factories)..Oh did I mention the fact they are responsible for the main source of people trafficing to the sex trade :(

Jews (are Jews white, MG? ) - good neighbours, respectable; tough in price negotiations, yet honest in agreed payment, unlike the Indians

Jews are in two very very separate camps in the UK, 1st: Generally well-to-do and just like you and I in appearance and attitudes 2nd: Hasidic and have no intention whatsoever of assimilating - still both are generally reasonable people and I have no issues with them.
