Greece faked the books to gain entry at any cost. Greece got for decades money from the EU structural support funds and what not. Half of Greece works for a totally bloated government where they retire with high pensions years before than in other countries, the other half is more used to bribery than paying taxes.
Of course it's now easy to blame others for your own faults but the only thing what will keep you afloat is again the EU! So keep it real, would you!
Alot of EUians would be glad if they wouldn't had to pay for you, why don't you just leave...

Well, I learned that most Poles actually thrived in Prussia, their numbers grew, they prospered, a middle class got more and more influence, they used the relative freedom of press and expression, they took part in the elections, even more Poles immigrated into Prussia...
I don't think there was a united anti-prussian front, especially as Prussia had as the most modern state alot to offer for it's new citizens and alot of Poles took it.
But yes, annexing another people is bad...but at least they weren't expelled as the Germans were in the annexed german territories later.

Well...those were the times. I'm not judging them. I'm just reading about the partitions and about the many wars Poland was involved before, not different to any other aspiring country in Europe.

Well...with hindsight it was not the nice thing to do. (And as we now know far to much hassle, Poles make mean subordinates!!! Prussians even feared a polish take over can you imagine that???)

In case you didn't know it but Hitler let Prussia dissolve and take over because he couldn't rule there legally and that was before the allies had the 'smart' idea in '47.
Many war, and in your case partition stories, are just propaganda...nothing more nothing less...a lesson still to learn for some!

I mean I can accept that those stories were told from the parents and teachers to the children to rally all Poles in rather difficult times behind the polish flag and to make sure they know who the enemy is but now it get's rather tiresome....Poles also should take another look or two at what they were told for so long.
Well, compared to your much repeated stories of kids being beaten and the circus wagon clown it is a refreshing eye witness about how it really was...of course you don't like it, won't fit into the narrative what you are used to..but sorry...there is more of that out there!

Nationalistic Poles were always a pest (as were nationalistic Germans), but those who accepted had it as good or bad as the Germans and all other minorities...that's what the fact is.
Prussia was a highly modern, enlightened state with equal laws for all...Poles profited from it mightily. THEY EVEN IMMIGRATED IN MASSES TO PRUSSIA!
To take out some examples where nationalism clashed and to make it the one and whole history is just wrong!
Another time when students were flogged was when they sang Pole instead of Preussen during music class, thats normal to you?

History / Why are Jews pestering Poland for "proper" WW2 monetary restitution/reparations? [750]
Are there other cases? A law or something? Because knowing my Prussians there might have been something wrong with the planned house rather than a law against Poles having property...
I mean, come on Bismarck's much famed "Kulturkampf" was more against the power of the Catholic Church than against Poles, after all it was a german Catholic who tried to kill him for it.
Then the "germanization", Prussia using german as the main language for all minorities inside the borders and of course enforcing it in schools and offices is quite a natural thing to do for every country, even today....so nothing special anti-polish about it either.
Frankly...if you dig deeper many so called prussian anti-polish behaviour was nothing of that sort or at least totally in the boundaries of the behaviour of an ordinary state! That's why I prefer links for learning....

Erm....yeah...what could there be the differences between a nice, warm, sunny, empty greek island and a destroyed, ugly, poor hole full of Russians??? Hmmm.....
There would be again the question of a corridor....;)
If the Germans wanted to buy one, two or more islands of Greece recently, why shouldn't they want to buy the Kaliningradskaja Oblast from Russia?
