Travel / Which is the most trustworthy taxi company in Warsaw? (child seats too) [10]

The two main bus lines are:

Bus Route  175 ul. Żwirki i Wigury (Novotel Warsaw Airport) - ul. Raszyńska - pl. Zawiszy (Hotel Sobieski) - Al. Jerozolimskie (Holiday Inn, Marriott) - City Centre - Marszałkowska (Novotel Warsaw Centre)- ul. Świętokrzyska - Krakowskie Przedmieście (Hotel Europejski, Hotel Bristol, Sofitel Victoria). This service goes to the city center, passing near some of the most popular hotels on its way as well as the main train station and passing near the old town.

Bus Route  188 ul. Żwirki i Wigury - ul. Wawelska - al. Armii Ludowej / Trasa £azienkowska- M  -Politechnika. This service goes to deep Praga Południe on the right bank, passing through to the south of the city center. This is a better choice if you just want to get to the metro.

Looks like you can pick it up outside hotels too.

Study / Bachelors in Civil / Mechanical Engineering Degree in Poland [39]

1)what chances do I have of getting a job there as a Civil Engineer

Very low, there are lots of high calibre Polish engineers out there who work on projects who have both German and Russian language skills which helps in the industry because of where Poland is situated (Polish companies doesnt just win work in Poland).

2)what would be my approx. min wage ?

Starting off you would earn about £10,000 (maxiumum with a large company, with a smaller company a lot lower)

3)How many years would I be allowed to work in Poland ?

I imagine you'd have to apply for some kind of post study work visa.

4)Also, Which universities would you recommend ? .

The guys who work for the company I do, both studied in Warsaw.

Someone else my tell you different, Im just going off what knowlege I have.

Just curious to know why you have chosen Poland?

Life / Gypies/Indian-looking women with kids beg for money in Poland [143]

Will you repeat it to your Polish friends you allegedly have?

Im quite happy to tell the negative sides of allowing poorer countries join a union where only a small amount of countries acutally allowed them equal work rights..Large numbers left their home countries to go and work in a limited number of countries in the EU..The ones who were not their neighbours and oblivious to the realities of these countries...

Now back to beggers, we have our own, why in gods name would we want foreign ones using babies and small children? I'll say it again, France have the right idea, deport them, they add nothing and cause problems - Are they not supposed to be travellers anyway, so a nice trip to a sunny country (somewhere other than England) might be just what the doctor ordered.

Work / English teacher from Turkey, have any chance to work in Poland? [71]

/turkologia/
I have Bachelor degree on English Language Teaching.

Yet you still cant write correctly...I'd ask for my money back if I were you.

I'm looking for some help. You don't need to be rude.

Would you learn Turkish off someone foreigner who learnt it as a second language? Or would you learn Turkish off a Turkish person who had teaching qualifications in Turkish?

Love / Are Polish and Slavic men perhaps a little bit insecure sometimes? [113]

I understand you don't want loonies coming in and posting irrelevant "nonsense"

Said the selfconfessed "princess"

Be ashamed, be very ashamed, as for "western European men" how many do you actually know? Yet another stupid generalisation! Made by another stupid person.

Life / Poles - what other nationality would you say you are most like? [125]

Finns - that's another group that are supposedly similar to the Irish. No idea myself.

I met some recently in Prague and you know what, if being friendly and enjoying a drink means they are like the Irish, then yes they most certainly are, spent a weekend in Cork a few years back and came back with a 100% positive view of the Irish..

Who are:

Britain is a bastard nation, so we are quite unique! We've been mixing with other cultures for centuries so have a mixtures of many different traits..I'd like to think we're like the French, but unfortunately we're too polite...

I know their mentality and humour...Whats not to love?

Having dated a couple of other nationalities, I know I have the best in my own kind - as for the second article...What tosh! Its an outsider looking in and not knowing the reality ALL of my friends are married to English guys and are very happy, why would they settle for second best?

She's not that bad looking

She's got a face like a slapped ar$e....I can fully understand why British blokes steered clear...Or is that her "Im hard done to" look? Either way, she looks a miserable c*w who didnt get lucky in the capital...Which is impossible..

But I do love this bit of the article:

At least that is what Toby Young, the hapless author of ''How to Lose Friends and Alienate People,'' an account of his aborted media career in New York, found when he tried to chat up a woman at a party by discussing the pros and cons of plastic surgery. What procedure would she choose, he asked?

When the woman said she would elect to have breast-reduction surgery, Mr. Young wrote recently in The Daily Mail, he offered his own first choice -- penis reduction -- and then stood by and waited for her to laugh.

''Instead, she said, 'Oh, rilly? Why, d'you have a problem?' '' Mr. Young related. ''Eventually, I caved in and confessed I was only joking. 'Oh, I see,' she said. Then, as an afterthought, added: 'Hah!' Thirty seconds later, she was gone.''

This is why I love English men....

Could we share?

You can have him Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays - but dont expect much he'll be too tired :0)

Its and English saying:

phrases.org.uk/bulletin_board/13/messages/1490.html

the thread title implies that British men are gay.... lol

They most certainly are not, I have plenty of neices and nephews to prove otherwise ;0)

Im guessing the guys couldn't tell the difference between her muff and her face...;)

Thats never stopped a drunken Brit before (YOU KNOW IM SPEAKING THE TRUTH!)...My mate used to say..Go to bed with Poodles wake up with Rottweilers!

OK, so the Canadian chick went to London and she did not score

Which is pretty much impossible, everyone knows Londoners cant take their beer :D So even the most ugly chick could score...She was probably an annoying whiney type..

Edit:

Article 8 years out of date ;0)

UK, Ireland / British men don't really like women [137]

I think many British males are reserved by nature.

No British men are:

Inteligent
Sexy
Good looking
Funny
Well travelled
Adventerous
Loving
Kind
Good conversationalists
Excellent company
A good laugh
Horny
Passionate
Tactile
Would follow to the ends of the earth for
Good in the kitchen
Loud
Borish
Dull
Ugly
Vicious
Violent
Unkind
Thick as pig $hit
Ignorant
Foolish
Cant even boil an egg
Would cross the road to avoid

The list is endless...It depends on who you meet.

British men just like their Monty Python's and that's about it.

What? The like The League of Gentlemen too..Some are not inteligent enough to get the humour in either though.

I think many British males are reserved by nature.

You know what thought did dont you?

Love / Polish girls fall for Indian guys ? [217]

Thats a financial issue and you know that.

They have spent more than any country has ever done in the history of the games..So you are way off..It's corruption that has caused the problems and in general a lack of standards.

Again financial.

What? They are going ahead with a space programme yet they have people starving to death? Its stupidity and wanting to keep up with Jones' whilst not have the inteligence to see what's really important - they are still one of the largest recipients of Aid yet they are squandering "our" money on something that is not necessary.

Pay peanuts get monkeys.

These people who work for him are supposed to be educated and the best in their field, thats why they are seconded to the UK...They are also paid pretty well in comparision to some.

Not really, rather corruption !

Bingo..(only noticed your post after I wrote it)

i am from mauritius wiz a indian background .

I work with a guy from Mauritius (good friends too.. historically his family are from northern Asia not your part!), he'd be ashamed the way you are writing, evidently you're one of these retards he's told me about!

No you don't........ Condoms too large for Indian men!!!!!!

They're delusional....evidently not working to same quality standards we do in Europe!

infact polish girls are mad abt asian guys only one reason is to ****

They're having a bit of a challenge who can $hag the man with the smallest nob! So next time a girl approaches you a club, you know why! ;0)

Life / Bugs in Polish houses and apartments [78]

The cocroaches are the real problems.

Not that hard to get rid of my mate gets them occassionally in her apartment in Spain, there are special powders that you put down - but you have to scrub the place clean before you do it...

This thread has made me crawl, I have nothing but sympathy for your friend, my advice is get the pheck out of there and find another apartment, when chosing, find somewhere with hard floors throughout, no carpets and check in all the cupboards to see if they are clean (no tell tale signs of droppings of any kind)..

UK, Ireland / Avalon method course vs Conversation with a native speaker to learn English? [37]

God damn it,can you people even understand each other when everyone speaks different English?

Consider someone from the deep south listening to someone from New York..its the same thing..You can tell where someone is from by their accent so can we, even though its only a tiny Island.

Easily, the Aussies can understand us well too.

I bet they couldnt if there were 3 Scots going 10 to the dozen, even though Im used a Scots accent (different parts of Scotland I may) I just gave up trying to minute a meeting if the 2 Glasweigans and the bloke from Edinburgh got in to a convo...I would have needed sub-titles! Thankfully we all took it in turns do the minutes, I couldnt have coped with that every meeting! :D

Food / I have a Polish couple coming over for afew days and would like to cook for them. [93]

They probably didnt seal the meat, sirloin or fillet any other beef wont work.

Thats exactly what she didnt do...plus the filling was a bit too chunky and not seasoned enough...It was still very pink so all was not lost! But its still a risky dish if you've never done it before..

a fair percentage of English comes from French and you lived longer in the UK

No $hit Sherlock ;0)

Why has nobody mentioned Beef Wellington yet?

Im a cheap skate (nice piece of beef for a good Wellington is about £25.00) :D Also believe it or not its a risky dish to do if you've never dont it before, last time at a friends the pastry was soggy and the filling wasnt exactly to my taste either.(people do it different ways)..Its a dish to be perfected before doing for people who have never tasted your food...

Get an M&S dine in for 2 they're huge and enough for 3 easy :) problem solved!

Love / Polish girls fall for Indian guys ? [217]

My Indian mate was working in a kebab take-away. I couldn't believe the amount and nastiness of abuses that he was receiving.

Same as he'd get in the UK I imagine...

That's why I threw away my well-paying job as a research engineer there and p#ssed off to Manchester (and found another job of similar kind, anyway).

You were lucky - the industry isnt doing too tell at the moment.

I've seen a few blacks beaten to pulp in front of me.

Living in Manchester you've probably seen a few blacks shooting at each other too..

Did you hear about the 4 rapes in South Manc...all done my an asian (paki probably) chap...Maybe if we were not so multi-culti and not so choosy who we let in (unlike Poland) there would be less problems..

Life / Let`s compare prices of services and products in Poland [359]

Haha, doesn't exist in the UK! :D Max is 20mb for about £20 a month.

I pay £5.00 my advice is the shop around and haggle - there's always a deal to be done..lots of competition out there!

while the UK and American wait a few years so they can over charge use for complete crap.

Blame the last government for this.

How much is it for a lamb chop? Expensive if i remember rightly from Poland.

Expensive in the UK, I paid £6.00 for 4 a couple of months back..not exactly meaty looking things either from what I recall..

UK, Ireland / Ed Miliband, new Labour leader, talking about Polish immigrants yesterday [62]

Do you think that Poles are travelling around the world looking where they can undercut local wages ?

They certainly dont look at what the working wage is for a builder, instead they say "oh I can do it cheaper" FACT..

What card? Do you claim that only Poles arrived to UK ?So, ?

Crying all the time!

First of all it your government policy to let Poles in and work- legally!

One we were not consulted on and one that backfired on them..15,000 at most from ALL of the A8 countries..was what they expected!! LOL!!

Secondly Poles are being employed by your citizenry, why do you have a beef with Poles only?

I have issues with anyone that undercuts and English man...I dont care where he's from, but this happens to be a Polish forum and you started harping on about Polish people being phucking victims!

Why wrong - working class would like socialism in the national guise, work for all citizens, minimum wage, reduced work hours - paradise eh?

Times have changed...Those working class of 40 years ago do not exist...As for work for all, why not? Rather that than benefits for all!! Minimum wage? Sure, or are you suggesting we pay people incredily low wages so that they are forced to leave their families and friends behind in order to find a decent living wage??? Reduced workign hours...thing of the past we signed up to the European working directive and everyone I know works more than 37.5 or 40 hours a week...simply because of the demands of their job...

Isn't it illegal ?Illegal activity should be stopped, if they undercut ......

its not but it should be, prices should be set like in the German building trade (I heard this recently)

Monoculture makes soil barren and impoverished, you cannot say this about multicultural societies.

? Japan is pretty much a monoculture but is very far from being barren.

5 an hour is a reasonable wage in UK, I believe

WTF - I'd like to see you live on that an hour over here! Prices seem to be rocketing in the shops! (food wise with clothes to follow - the cheapo Brit buying culture is soon to be over!)

Food / Help me like Polish food (recommendations) [48]

have you ever tried potato pancakes

Divine, had some in Czech Republic last weekend...

Nope. Sounds like it might be a bit like boxty though.

Nothing like what you are thinking about - they can have fillings, mine had cabbage and bacon and resembled nothing like a potatocake in the UK..Really filling and dead cheap!

UK, Ireland / Ed Miliband, new Labour leader, talking about Polish immigrants yesterday [62]

The only solution for a working class fears would be the French system,

Oh no, you are very wrong there matie..In fact Id go one step further, I be happy for only people who work and have several (at least 5) generations in this country to vote...You'd soon see a change to how things worked over here!!!!

If they undercut, IF, it was the labour party policy!

No it was is not, it is people who lived like rats who can afford to do so...They dont have a standard of living that a British builder has! But there you go again blaming someone else! No change there then for a Pole!

There was a crackdown on it.

No there wasnt (asuming you are talking about undercutting?)..Its still going on..

Nevertheless, why always pick on Poles ? Ed shred!

Sometimes the truth hurts....Love the way you play the victim card..Pakis do that all the time...
