Misterdsp 1 | 3 31 Aug 2012 / #1Hi,I recently dug up this object in my belgian garden. It's an iron/tin cup with a length of 4 cm. It has a white eagle against a red background. On the belly of the eagle there are two letters: CF.Could this be Polish? (They liberated Belgium in the second world war) And what would the CF stand for?thanks in advance. Here you can see the pic:warrelics.eu/forum/polish-armed-forces-second-republic-si-y-zbroj ne-ii-rzeczypospolitej-polskiej-1918-1939/mysterious-tin-cup-hera ldic-eagle -210975/

sobieski 106 | 2111 31 Aug 2012 / #5Could be a drinking cup of 1st Polish Armored Division. I will ask my partner's uncle, a retired army colonel.
OP Misterdsp 1 | 3 31 Aug 2012 / #6at Wroclaw boy: If you would find a Belgian cup in your wroclaw garden, it could be classified as mysterious. But I know this isn't exactly Harry Potters wizzardstick. ;-)Thank u guys for the effort!
Wroclaw Boy 31 Aug 2012 / #7If you would find a Belgian cup in your wroclaw gardenDude if i found a Belgian cup in my back garden it would have to have Belgian written all over it and then I'd be like "ahh so the Belgians did invent a time machine after all". Sneaky so and so's....
isthatu2 4 | 2692 31 Aug 2012 / #8Is there a grove in the base of the cup?If so it could be(there are a LOT of versions) a german army cup from a tropical water bottle ( as used by the Africa Korps) this could easily be a War booty piece found by a Polish soldier in North Africa who then served in the Liberation of the Low Countries.

Zibi - | 335 1 Sep 2012 / #12letters: CF.Methinks it is not CF but a gothic-styled E. And while the eagle and the colors remind me of the polish coats of arms, the true meaning remains indeed a mystery.
boletus 30 | 1356 1 Sep 2012 / #13The letters CF could stand for City of Frankfurt (on Main). It's coat of arms is almost identical as Poland's coat of arms, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wappen_Frankfurt_am_Main.svg
Wulkan - | 3136 1 Sep 2012 / #14it would have to have Belgian written all over itHow ignorant you have to be not to know that there's no such a thing like Belgian language
Zibi - | 335 1 Sep 2012 / #15It's coat of arms is almost identical to Poland's coat of arms,Indeed. And their colors look alike as well.
OP Misterdsp 1 | 3 1 Sep 2012 / #16Mystery Solved, I found out it's in fact the old logo of the Eintrach Frankfurt Football Club :-), Nothing to do with Poland... Thanks for the help guys!
Polsyr 6 | 758 2 Sep 2012 / #17Football ClubGood job! I actually checked every football club logo I could think of and could not find the one!The letters C and F usually imply some kind of football club, although the similarity to the Polish coat of arms can be misleading...
isthatu2 4 | 2692 2 Sep 2012 / #18There is no Belgian language.Lols...try telling a Belgian that they speak French or Dutch and then come back and tell us again there is no Belgian languages ;)
