Piekarski surname - is it Polish?

OK, so there's this 80s American sitcom The Facts Of Life. In its first season there was a very beautiful young actress named Julie Piekarski? Is her family name of Polish origin? To me the "ie" and "ski" might indicate its a Polish surname. What do you think? I think other Slavic languages would have been written as Pjekarski or Pekarski instead?

She doesn`t look Slavic to me, let alone Polish. :):)

Then and now

That's American made in the U.S.A.
Just look at her perfect teeth.
She's no European.

To me she looks part Slavic. Only with fake American teeth facets or whatever they're called. Cover her mouth and you'll see some Slavic features, at least on the left photo.

@johnny reb
You've never been to Europe, have you?

She doesn't look very Polish to me either and actually it's because of her teeth/jaw -I wouldn't call it perfect nor Polish. But then again there's this actress who plays Leonard's mum on tbbt who's also of Polish origin and her features seem so rare here that I can't think of anyone here who looks like her.

Piekarski is probably derived from piekarz (baker).

Seriously? I would have never guessed... Good series though.
