What's your favorite Polish beer?

Super website

Yeah, It is.
So, Piwo jasne lekkie is considered "light" and Piwo jasne pelne is "Full-Light". Both being beer under 6% and under 10 plato / SG (for those who don't want to go to the site)

Poland has many full light beers then. After that, they're all mocny. LOL Light beer in the US is prob like 2-3% :)

U have to look a bit harder to find the jasne lekkie ones. They are by no means mainstream.

On my left, weighing in at 660ml, in Brown, At 6 % is "Zubr"
And on my right weighing in at 660ml, in Green, at 5.2% is Lech.
Ding Ding Ding, round one!

Being an American of German heritage I always thought they would have the best beer. However, since traveling to Poland and Germany in 2005 and 2007 I have found Polish beer to be outstanding. We are lucky to have a store that sells Polish beer here in the panhandle of Florida. The Porters by Okocim and Żywiec are my favorites to enjoy in small quantity while Warka, Tyskie, EB, and regular strength Okocim and Zywiec are great drinking beer that blow away nearly all American brands.

That's a pretty bold statement. I can assume you mean nearly all American mass produced beer? Yeah, Polish beer is excellent, but we have many outstanding beers here that people overlook.

Porters by Okocim and Żywiec

Look out for Black Boss porter (Witnica). It's a bit better than the above two IMO, but difficult to find. I'm sure if you can get those porters, the liquor store can get from their distributer.

Lech is objectively better tho I prefer Zubr.

Lech is not nice, too watery. I like beer that tastes and Zubr tastes unique, I have never actually tasted a beer like it. The only thing I can compare it to is the smokey taste is Scottish Whisky but at six percent, I'd have to go in to training to drink the stuff ha ha ha.

Nice one for the tip.

I've tried Warka and didn't care for it. Other than Zywiec and Tyskie, Zubr is ok.

What is that beer like? I like very strong dark bitter beers. Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout is my current favorite. 9% alcohol, I think.

When I was in Poland in 2005 I had a Warka and placed it near the end of my list; however, over the last 6 months I have really grown to like it as a strong piwo that can be consumed in mass quantity. I can't do that with Polish Porters as they are too filling. For those Porter drinkers in the U.S. try a Yuengling Porter if you can find it. Great taste, less filling, and cheap.

9.4% You will like! It's a heck of a lot better than Zywiec porter....and cheaper :) I'm not a great reviewer, but you can see some in beer advocate.

Sounds good! Can I find it in the US? I'll look for it in the BevMo store.

Black Boss Porter rocks! I'll be having a few bottles tonight. My dad found some more in Milwaukee, so he bought a case. Still can't get any info if they are going to be rereleasing it?

Do you have to smash the bottle to scrape the last bit out? I always think it should come in a tin, a bit like wood varnish or something.
