Sony Ericsson A1018s Polish Manual for sale

For sale is the Sony Ericsson A1018s Polish Manual. Very good condition, at it was never used, comes from 1999.
Price is EUR 1 or USD 1,50 + the shipping costs which could be about $2--$3 to almost anywhere in the world.

If anyone needs it, I'm also selling the phone itself, you could check the equipment on the picture below. The phone is used, there is visible the wearing effect on the top part of the antenna, but overall it's a very good condition, because it has been used in the case. However the battery is dead and I could use it only when it's plugged into the charging mode. Probably if the normal battery is used, it would work perfectly. The phone itself $20 + $5 for all parts you see. Shipping may vary depending on your country.

I must say I'm very intrigued by this post. Both by the seller and who a potential buyer may be.


This is a hoot! "Very good condition"! Are there collectors of old phone manuals out there? The low offering price seems to indicate the answer is "no", as otherwise I would have expected the collectibility factor to produce an appropriate mark-up.

Could one ask the OP to please post an update later if someone did indeed reach out and purchased the manual?

It's not about the contents of the manual only. Soon people may seek such devices (not connected to the spying machines) and the value (beyond the historical one) may go even higher.

I would think old phones are definitely easier for intelligence services to monitor since it's only unencoded traffic, with no option to use What'sApp, Skype, Telegram, etc.

Also, even if you did have this phone and desperately needed a manual - it is STILL online.

For sure I know. But for sale is not an electronic edition, but the fully original Polish print. You will rather not get such a printed edition online.


That's the purpose of the ad, locating such collectors. May be there are, who knows.


There's no traffic and no Internet on such phone. It's a cellular only. SIM-card could be tracked only by the mobile network operator company, and still not precisely - location would be determined somewhere between the closest station antenna which gives and receives signal from this phone, not the precise place. Nor Microsoft, Facebook and other companies would have access to determine where this number is currently located.

BTW if you check on eBay, for the price I'm offering you could get only a non-functioning or not tested phone.
While new devices could be sold for $150+.

I'm by no means trying to get in the way of a successful sale here, but I must say that this is precisely what I meant when I said old phones are easier to monitor. Most any mobile operator will cooperate with the state, even in the freest of countries, and there is nothing simpler for them than to provide call recordings or SMS traffic whether be it to the police, or intelligence services. Now if you were using a VoIP application on a smartphone which encoded the conversation, the mobile operator can be of much less help to the government, and they will be forced to take other avenues to get to your data. Not impossible, but certainly harder.

You're absolutely right regarding the location tracking however.

Some people collect old technology. And if the phone still works...

If these institutions will be up to you for some interest, you'd have to use no mobile phone anymore :)

Also, while cellulars could be monitored by request, smart phones are monitored even without request - by the companies which produce them and code the software for them. We are not kids to seriously consider all those "don't share my location" options. You may me right about the encoding conversations - though you might know that "serious guys" do not use direct messaging, they could use tons of ways which anyone could skip not considering them as conversations at all.

So this phone/manual is just for collectors :)
