Hi All ,
I live in Sydney and work in a building development company as a Quality Inspector I am female 35 years with a bf who gets on my nerves .

I finished and matriculated from High school in Poland and came over here when I was 20 . Have an arts degree major in Graphic Art.

However my mum passed away few months ago and I have no other family here
just few friends who have their own lives and family .
Well I am thinking of moving back to Poland to live and work there , I have enough to purchase my own apartment in a smaller town where

I am from - Radomsko . Also I have inherited some farm land from my great great uncle . Is it good idea to leave my life here and move to Poland where my roots and my family are ?

tell me what you think .
( I have cousins and maternal side of my family )
Everyone I talked to ( from Poland ) says I would be crazy to do so . Other people say I should try .
I dont know ... Please tell me what you think ....
thanks

Hi If you feel like you are missing out in Aus, and you know you could get a job in Poland then if i were you I would move. Myself I'am based in Dublin, have to move to Poland soon and I'am looking forward to the change. It helps if you have friends or people you know. I wish you all the best

I am nowhere near Polish just married to a polish woman 25 yrs, coming to Poland 13 years, and decided to live in Poland after kids grew out.Did some investments and in process of moving full time there from states.Love it,adore it,cherish it,will die for it.We are not rich maybe land rich but cash poor in this economy but can afford better living standards than in states where health insurance costs her 1200$ a month with heavy copay compared to 900pln in Poland.with place to live costs /will be less then 10k$ a year while we pay over 13k just in house realestate tax and insurance not to mention repairs property maintence like lawn care/snow removal. If you have a place to live and a small income you will just do fine.I did live in sydney for 71/2 yrs of my student life but Poland is different.

we are 15+ years older then you are so maybe your needs are different but Poland does suit us...even though my polish sux.I am sure you are making the right move if thats what you expect from life.Remember life comes once:)))

I'm very curious, is there anything in particular that don't you like about Australia?
I get it that you need some family tie, and the boyfriend thing, but is there anything in particular about Australia?
According to many ratings, it is one of the best places in the world to live.

Is it good idea to leave my life here

You are either happy where you live, or you're not. If you're not, leave.

KANGROOS & ABORS

It's roos and Abos... ;)

Cant believe it i am thinking of doing the same thing, looks like i am not the only one. I have been in Australia 30 years ( i am 43 ) and i am bored with the place. Not going to move to any of the usual places like warsaw, that is what i am going to get away from, trendy cities with lots of people bore me to death. Was thinking setting up business and buying house out of the way with lots of land but still close enough to get there when i have to. I am going to have to come over and stay for a while to inspect properly.

I live near sydney, Australia is a great place, just not as great as you think.

Hi All ,

Sorry to read that you lost your mum. FWIW bereavement experts do say a grieving person shouldn't make big decisions about their life soon after a major bereavement. But, whatever you decide to do, I hope all goes well for you.

Living here without enough of earnings may become boring quickly. May become a house arrest in a smaller town.

Under dual citizenship you can always go back as long as you have enough money to try first.

I am going to take 10000. Plane and hotel for 30 days will be about 3500. But after I meet some people I will use their house as base so even less because I will pay them less but they will still b happy. You c I dont want a comftable place I will be searching places to live and make business so if I sit in hotel I will fail. My goal is to meet people and places not have a holiday but ofcourse with 6000 left or more I will have a good time on weekend. If all that is viable I will come back and we will sell lots of things and only than make move. I am the sort of person who walks into places and that sort of thing so I will not have any problems doing all that. One of the things I read here all the time is money. Our move would not be for money it is for life. Money I will make, life here is changing beyond what we want. Life is too short for me to accept the changes here, we can c a far better life akthough we have everything. This may seem strange to some people but there is a lot here now that we dont want. My wife is australian and she agrees. Ofcourse we can akways leave.

you don't have to move now, but you can go back to experience your feelings as a return person, and stay one month, or half year in Poland.

you will know your choice after that!

it is not only choice, maybe you can go to other counties, of cause welcome to China, I am a Chinese!

Living here without enough of earnings may become boring quickly.

Then do as many Aussies do: buy a station wagon and travel across the country, working wherever and whenever necessary. Unless you are really bound to a place, there is no reason to be under "house arrest" as you say.

Well I am thinking of moving back to Poland to live and work there.

Better chances to find some work will be in bigger cites.. Radomsko as a small town don't give many chances. Maybe it would be wiser to move to some bigger city, rent something, find some work. And only after some period try to buy something. Otherwise you risk to end with a place you cann't sold in a place you don't want to live...

Besides, well I don't want to be rude and it is not my bussiness... but I'm under impression that it is not as much a new place you need but some new people.. It is so much easier in a bigger city..

It is a good idea if you can come back.
Our ancestors, living tribial, used to move and change places each day, and maybe that's way we also long for changes and "exotic".

I (Polish girl) have been this year on a holidays in Australia - and would love to move there! However most probably for few years, cause I know how isolated it is. Or maybe it is the reason why I have loved it so much.

Anyway, as a polish born, you must be a family orientated person, so you may miss your roots, I would try it cause you can always come back to Australia!

Although as sb wrote - in Poland you can't really do the "station wagon living" as the climate doesn't support this lifestyle ;-)

I wonder if Gosiaa ended up happier in Poland.

Vast majority of Polish who choose this option end up back in Australia after only 9 months. Impossible dream that Poland will ever change.

Curious as to what advantages specifically would exist for a Pole moving to Australia... or even vice-versa for that matter.
The latter has beaches and nice weather, abundant wildlife and, I've been told, a friendly, outgoing, ultra-relaxed, populace who enjoy life
and expect others to as well.

On the other hand, Poland's nearly in the heart of Europe, for heaven's sake, is just bursting with a rich and glorious history going back almost a thousand years,

has a gorgeous countryside and lies within the bosom of Western Civilization!

Give all that up for koala bears or snorkeling on Great Barrier Reef? Seems a grossly uneven exchange, don't you think?

No, The Other, but I have been to Long Island. Pretty beachfront property but I wouldn't wanna live there!
