Polish Language Courses at Polish Universities

Although the Jagiellonian has a fantastic reputation the price reflects this. Does anyone know anything about some of the other 'top' Polish Uni's.
Specifically I am thinking of Lublin's Catholic University but info on any will be appreciated.
My goal is to combine a 2/3 week intensive language course with a sight seeing city break so I'm more interested in old cities. Places like modern Warsaw hold little appeal for me.

Ideally the city would be like Krakow, Prague or Talin but less well known, so the tourists would not have completely corrupted it and the McDonalds corporation would have kept thier awful franchise down to single figures.

...but if the course is top rate I could make harsh compromises.

My info is very dated, but the top place was £ódź, where foreign students were (still are?) sent to learn Polish in 8 months before taking university courses in the language.

But that's not a real beauty spot AFAIK (never been there).

I've also heard (some years ago) good things about the program in Torun (pretty, but not well managed city and capital of crazy cat lady politics in Poland). From what I remember, most tourists there are middle aged Germans of the kind who like their comfort but aren't into MickeyD or getting as drunk as possible and passing out in the town square.

I'm going to Lublin University's intensive course this summer for a fortnight. It's not cheap either, but I read some info on other forums and I decided to go. You can apply till the end of May. Well, after you've decided if you wanna learn Polish or Czech or Estonian... ;o)

I'm going to Lublin University

There are two universities at Lublin, are you both talking about the same?
KUL - Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski (Lublin's Catholic University)
and
UMCS - Uniwersytet Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej

No cześć! I've done my bit, so to say, been to the kul.pl/art_9038.html - Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) for a two-week highly intensive course. Really enjoyed being there. It wasn't cheap, but it was well worth the money. Highly recommend it.

Here you can find my short summary.

Pozdrawiam.
