Hi All,

Thanks for all your comments. I am working in Telecom Domain.
Actually the offer is 1600 Euro Brutto with flat on sharing basis. So what I wanna ask is this money is worth coming or not. They are providing flat. As i got to know the cost of living which includes food transportation is near about 500 Euro is it true.

Thanks a lot again for your valuable commets.

Cheers,

It's 1600 Euro a month, right? I think is a good salary. Yes, you can live on 500 euro a month (food + transportation -- but it depends on your actual needs and how much you like to spend...:).

Hope you have a good time in Poland, could you explain the nature of you contract, how long you will be in poland. The nature of your work and who will be employing you.

Are you required to speak polish.

is worth coming or not

Depends how much you currently make and what are the prospects of your current job. Are you ready to move permanently to Poland? do you know the language? These are the two questions you should definately consider. Your advantage may be the knowledge of at least two foreign languages (Indian, English + possibly Polish) and some big companies may hire other IT workers from your home country so that you will not feel "alone".

Yep, definately knowledge of the Indian language (or Pakistani? - is it the same?) is a big plus.

[Moved from]: Cost of Living in Warsaw?

I'm thinking of moving to Warsaw. Anyone able to help me establish the cost of living in Warsaw compared to the UK? As it's the capital city are costs similar to London?

Any advice greatly appreciated :)

Anyone able to help me establish the cost of living in Warsaw compared to the UK?

In the most recent survey of the 50 most visited capitals around the world that I have seen, London was the third most expensive and Warsaw came in at number 28. Warsaw is easily the most expensive city to live in Poland. If you want detailed info on the costs of living in warsaw, just google expats & warsaw, There is loads of info out there. If you are receiving a UK salary then Warsaw will seem relatively cheap. If you plan to work and be paid in Warsaw then you will find it difficult.

You may exchange currency in a bank or in a KANTOR, a Polish currency exchange office. Credit cards such as VISA, American Express, and Eurocard are accepted in hotels, banks, and larger shops in Polish cities. Moreover, there are also numerous cash point machines (BANKOMAT) available in the streets, (some of them are also located on Campus) which may be used with most of the major credit cards.

Banking hours are 8 or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
