Hi! I'm moving to szczecin. I'm single 23 years old and my net salary is about 750 euros per month. I'll need a single room and internet connection. Now, my question is, would it be possible for me to save money from this after a comfortable life? Can you please share some info. about your life and monthly costs? Thanks in advance.

Admin! Please don't merge this topic with my other topics. People, won't respond to old topics.

Well a single flat will cost you from 350zl p to 1000zl depending on the size. Total bills will be about: electricity 50zl, gas 70-90zl, other bills like paying for cleaning the outside of the flat e.t.c. will be 20-40 per month. Internet 1Mb roughly about 60 to 70zl depending on who you go with. Food and living 1000zl per, depends on if you like partying or not, but this can be reduced. So at your start of 750 euros = 2,832zl per month it will be not so easy to save money unless you do other things like private conversation lessons, where you can charge 50 to 70 zl per hour, depending on how good you are and you don't bore the student.

It depends what you mean by comfortable life. If you cook at home, don't live in the center and don't go out often then you should easily save half of the cash but that's rather not a comfortable life - in that case you rather won't save anything, at least not much.

a bus/tram pass for 1 month is 84zl. prices are pretty much as stated

ppl here are all talk when it comes to private lessons. DO NOT COUNT on it.

rent- basically starts at 750zl but there are some gems out there, nice and cheap.
water- 50zl
power- 50zl
internet & cable- 80-90zl
gaz- 50-80zl
food- up to 100zl a week. but if u r a smart shopper....
alcohol- depends on how much u want to drink. beers in shop 2-3zl. bottle of vodka 17-20zl.

i initially spent 700zl on kitchen supplies.

a good matress>500+ zl sofabeds suck.

the water here sucks.

going out for beers 5-10zl each.

dinners out with a friend- average 30-60zl for a decent meal.

buy your appliances and electronics online. you'll save loads. i saved 380zl on my tv versus EURO rtv/agd sklep

Hi! All of you lives in szczecin? :). I need the cheapest accommodation and I'll cook at home. Any other types of accommodation is available? I don't drink and smoke. Is it possible to be a paying guest in poland? "Private conversation lessons" what does it mean? Thanks. :).

In another post, I read that a primary school teacher in poland earn 900pln. Where I'm earning more than 2500pln, why I won't able to save money :(. Any explanation?

And, I don't know polish language. Will it be a big problem in szczecin? :). Thanks.

because when you live on your own, without wife/husband's income you spend a lot more per person

Kissingcows.... i think you need to research what you are about to do much, much more.

It seems that you are leaving the home of your parents for the first time, and have no idea about living in another country, or on your own for that matter. I could be wrong, but it is the impression I get.

We have given you plenty of information here. Life here is basically the same as anywhere in the world.

Feck there is loads of accommidation in szczecin, and very cheap at that....

The thing is you already know how much you will be earning, so I can only presume that you are working for a company either based in szczecin or has very big dealings there !!

If this is the case then surely they will be able to provide you with all the information you need about living there ??

there is a place called Eco-Line located in the north part of Szczecin(Warszewo). There is a bus right out front, and another bus a 2 minute walk.

infhotel.pl/szczecin/eco-line
rooms.webpark.pl
Google Earth 53°28'6.23"N 14°32'25.27"E

They are fairly nice people to host. No crazy things going on. They speak English. 40PLN/night. Shared kitchen, but not always available if you are in the upper main house. You are at the mercy of the owner and if he is home or not. I advise you to check the linen on the bed, as i found it not to be cleaned from the last visitors.

When i was there last year, there was a group of 5 girls from Germany there for a few days, and we had fun everynight!

Goodluck
