The Senate approved an $838 billion economic recovery package bill Tuesday, as Democrats held on to the few Republican supporters who helped hammer out a compromise measure last week.

The bill passed on a mostly party-line vote of 61-37. Sixty votes were needed. Three Republicans joined Democrats in passage.

Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., vowed to send a finished bill to Obama's desk "as soon as possible."

Obama, who was in Fort Myers, Fla., promoting his economic rescue efforts, welcomed the vote as "good news. ... It's a good start."

I read somewhere that the final bill for all govt spending to save the country from this crisis will total 9 trillion dollars. Thats a lot of greenbacks. Truthfully, I hope this money goes to help the people and not big business.

Rest assured that some of that money was not fronted by David Rockefeller. I wonder what he has planned for Obama.

For example $300 million will go for Golf cars alone, They will build a agency that will control your medical records that will make decisions what kind of medication you will take and if you are to old then the government might decide you don't need the medication because you will die any ways. This bill is crazy it's bad and it will not fix any thing. President Obama will be the worse president in US history I think.

It doesn't look good. I recommend you this site: market-ticker.denninger.net

It seems to me that this guy knows what he is talking about. I hope he is wrong... but if he is right then America will end in Depression. I wonder how it will influence Poland. Not only economical, but also for example what will happen with NATO?

What he points out today is news from Bloomberg which says:

"China should seek guarantees that its $682 billion holdings of U.S. government debt won't be eroded by "reckless policies," said Yu Yongding, a former adviser to the central bank.

The U.S. "should make the Chinese feel confident that the value of the assets at least will not be eroded in a significant way," Yu, who now heads the World Economics and Politics Institute at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said in response to e-mailed questions yesterday from Beijing. He declined to elaborate on the assurances needed by China, the biggest foreign holder of U.S. government debt."

What will US do when Chinese stop buying treasuries? FED cann't buy everything (it is already buying some of it!)

one of the men behind the curtain, who really runs the country??

True, His economic stimilius bill has more holes in it than swiss cheese, more of the same old same ol huge democratic spending and once they blow through all that money they will want more!!

Obama hasnt got a clue about being a president, people voted for him just out of spite of Bush and the rest voted because hes black.

All Illinois politicians are crooks and the whole country knows it, yet they voted the biggest one in there??

Just in the event that most of you do not realize how much money $838 million is, Here is what the experts say. If America spends $1 million a day, then it goes back to the birth Of Jesus. This is the change that the anointed one gave us. HAIL TO KING OBAMA
