the mentality of the irish and polish

That similarity was one of the first things that struck me when i went to Poland. If there was a World Cup for partying this would probably be the final. :)

I have to say again about my big sentiment to Ireland:) and I cannot forget about Bono!:) We love him and respect like he loves and respects us:) We know "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" and history of that las well as "New year's Day" the song written for Poles.

Sunday, Bloody Sunday

was not written for Poles.

its based on a tragic event in Northern Ireland.

Though, nearly every society has a 'bloody sunday' (we have at least two!)

unday Bloody Sunday" is the opening track and third single from U2's 1983 album, War. The song is noted for its militaristic drumbeat, simple but harsh guitar, and melodic harmonies.[3] One of U2's most overtly-political songs, its lyrics describe the horror felt by an observer of The Troubles in Northern Ireland.

the new years day was written for the Poles though...

Tak, Prawda :) based on the Polish Solidarity movement

SBS was written about the Northern Irish event only. One of U2's most overtly-political songs, its lyrics describe the horror felt by an observer of The Troubles in Northern Ireland.

New years day was written originally as a love song for bono's wife but drew its inspirations to the Polish Solidarity movement.

*sigh* mag, ok, wiem

ale ALL i was saying is SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY was NOT based on a POLISH event.

New years day was not even based on it at first BUT a love song to his wife that became RESHAPED and INSPIRED by the POLISH SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT.

we both agree we love them to bits :)

I talk with people and read a lot, i'm sad gaelic start to dissaper, I felt anger when i was reading about 30 january '72.

I would like to post new thread, what Irish thinks about English now, and vice versa and what Poles feel about it. Who is closer to us? You or English? Something like that......

or an Irish group that are working now in this middle ground between traditional and contemporary music called Clannad. Clannad is Gaelic for family, and they've made some very powerful pieces of music. And love them also

I don't think there are any Irish communities in Poland like in the US. So, I'm guessing not probably noy. never know though...maybe some of the Irish living/schooling there celebrate with their PL friends. There are Irish pubs :)
