Poles and Poles in the UK = animosity

Some people can be nasty, especially the one who struggled themselves at the beginning, luckily not too many. Most will help each other. Polish small businesses employ mostly polish workers. There was an issue in the past that some contractors would not pay their employees for weeks, or give "rubber" checks until it got in the papers and it turned out that even illegals had rights and could call and complain to The Labor dept about a particular business/business owner.

I think it worked. I don't hear this type of stories any more.

Oh,still recovering from 4th July :)
Actually,he may not have realised you were in Northern Ireland ,still, even in softie old England Polish gangs havnt made much of an impact,in fact, are a bit of a laughing stock around these parts. Of course, being singled out by a gang of skins isnt going to be a pleasant experiance whatever the nationality but,on the whole,in the crime underworld charts I dont think the Poles get in the top 20 :)

Grzegorz_:
From your another topic...

From your other topic! Poles always seem to make this mistake.

That's because it translates it wrong in most translation dictionaries!

Good for you, I hope things have changed for the better and the scum have moved to pastures new and left you to get on with things.

Plastic-Alert! You forgot to reference dentistry and scones like most Yanks do when trying to insult Brits.

Britain doesnt have gangsters round the world for the same reason most of Europe doesnt i.e. because we have a high standard of living and an effective police and judiciary. No need for us to suck anyones dick. Its called progress.

Aye. And haha. This one always makes me laugh. I went to America just a few short months ago and looked for this legendary Hollywood smile. It wasn't there to be seen

there eastern europeans, and eastern europeans will always be on top

Aye. But did I not read someone say that Poland is in Central Europe so it is.

legendary Hollywood smile

Never heard of this. I think what you all see are whitened teeth on the TV/movies and airbrushed photo's of stars.

BTW, I know you know what it's like here ;)
