I'm visiting Wroclaw in the morning comming from London and have a few questions regarding money.
I have been told by variuos people in the UK not to change too much money over here and change it when i get to Wroclaw, is this because the rate is much better, and if so could you confirm please.
unless youre changing huge amounts its not really going to make much of a difference - i normally change what i need for the first few hours - taxi etc - and then use atms...
currency in poland is zloty - 5.5 PLN - 1 GBP more or less at the moment
yes, it's true, if you exchange money in one of the cash exchange offices. if you use an ATM then the rates will be similar to what you can get in the UK euro will be rather useless to you in Wrocław. you need Polish money.
but, indeed, if you're going to use relatively 'normal' amounts of money it won't make big difference
Guys...it appears the zloty is gaining strength......by the day......current best rate I can get is 4.99zl per £.....was 5.5zl in may...and the 2006 rate was around 5.65zl!
Anyone know what the rates are locally in Poland or the Kantors, ie is it better to change there than in UK?
I got this off another thread......
nbp.pl/Kursy/KursyC.html
Is this an an exchange list that it up-dated daily, I take its the national bank of Poland or some sort, do they give best rates, and do they charge commission?
Thanks!
PS If it is 5.16 to the £..then its quite a bit better than the 4.99 I can get in the UK!!!!
Well I seem to be getting a better exchange rate in Poland than when i first initially changed money in the UK, When I done it in England I was getting about 5.126 to the pound, as soon as i got to Poland I was getting 5.344, now I think it is more like these guys say 5.5..
I would say exchange it in Poland, the worst that can happen is that you get the same rate... Hope you enjoy your stay..
