CAVEMEN, Savages.

I disagree, but I grew up in Poland, so many things don't seem to bother me.

OT:

lol Michal cracks me the F**k up. How do people take him seriously? Lulz

Anywho, my best friend was Polish, she was the one who introduced me to "polishness" and well... I guess I didn't even acknowledge Poland as a country before then.

So anyway, she was very intelligent, articulate, quick-thinking, had been here for about 6 years (we were in college), and she was studying Chemistry, Biology, Psychology and Sociology A-levels with me.

She didn't do very well in the written exams due to the fact she was a) dyslexic and b) lost interest (she discovered the circus... I'm not making this up! good, quick, immediate money rather than years more of toiling in university). But she COULD'VE done.

I think Poles are more inclined to work or gain a skill than go into further education in the UK, am I wrong? Probably, most generalisations are wrong.

was a) dyslexic

Dyslexia not recognised in Polish universities, they consider it a form of stupidity.

Dyslexia not recognised in Polish universities

Maybe it is just a myth,a form of cheating as an english proffessor recently announced.

No mate, trust me,its no myth, what it is is a serious ball ache. I was tested for my reading age at 7, I had a reading age of 13 but I spell like a 6 year old, still. I can proof read pretty much anything an pick out the mistakes but when writing simple words such as their or feild I fek up,often starting words half way through,ie fway then adding hal to make halfway....its a larf though :)

It can be reading disorder, not specifically dyslexia.

My brother was told by most of his teachers that he was stupid. He was put into the bottom set with the other kids who were slow, stupid, lazy, traumatised or dyslexic. One science teacher recognised what his problem was (not a teacher of English).

He now has a phd and spells well only with a lot of hard work and spell-checkers. He sometimes texts me and asks me if we'd like to go out for a bear. I usually say yes because he earns enough to pay more than what is really his fair share of drinks!

There was a recent survey by an english proffessor who almost demolished the case of dyslexia and made some interesting observations.

almost demolished the case of dyslexia

Dyslexia seems to be an umbrella term to describe more than one condition. My brother's spelling is atrocious, but that's not from a lack of reading, short attention span, hyperactivity, bad short term memory or any of the other things mentioned in the article.

It does look as though money is thrown at the symptoms rather than the causes.

I have also read that there is more dyslexia amongst English-speakers than with speakers of languages with more phonetic alphabets. We know that if you read a Polish word, when you know the rules, you can be pretty sure how it should sound, which is not the case with English.

Exactly. It is an umbrella. If there happens any thorough scientific research many people will start screaming.

Having lived in Poland for two years I can safely state that Polish people are not as smart as English or western European people.

Being not so sharp is one thing, but being as smart as you, and still marrying a dumbass is... well, stupid.

Now that we have established your own intellectual deficiencies, do you still feel you are in a position to say who is smart and who is not?

Poland's education system is a lot more intense and less slack than in North America, i'm not sure about the UK though.

Parrot fashion education where you get the pupil to cram facts from an early age was always the Russian way of doing things. There are advantages and disadvantages to this. In England the primary education system tried to get away from all this and would not even teach the times tables. Now, some of this former rote learning has come back in to fashion. Learning off by heart is one reason why Poles and Russians are not very good at the post graduate level because they are not taught to think for themselves and are therefore unable to create self though, simply a must in Msc and especially Phd study areas.

to many polish kids disrupting our own kids education , u don't see any english kids in poland but you see polish kids in english schools but the pollocks say there better than us ? how is this plausable ?

Obviously, your education was disrupted a long time before any Poles came to England(whats a pollock anyway?). Get back to the BNP website were you belong with other poorly educated, bigoted mouth breathers.

whats a pollock anyway

A work by the famous 20th century American abstract expressionist painter, noted for his method of 'action painting' can be described as a Pollock. Only lennyd, unlike many of the BNP (Banque National de Paris) trolls, he doesn't use any capital latters (other only ever use capital letters because they are SHOUTING because they are having TEMPER TANTRUMS like spoilt children who have been told they have to go to their room because they wouldn't eat their CABBAGE).

So without a capital P, I can't answer that.

Miserable trolls - here is a fragment from a URL posted earlier (with all my respect to British friends)

lol.

"The French scored 94. But it is not all good news. Top of the table were the Germans, with an IQ of 107. The British were also beaten by the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Italy, Austria and Switzerland"

Can anybody even imagine what they (trolls) would think about themselves, if the Brits topped the list? No wonder they are 'scared" of Polish 'invasion" of UK. They know, they can not match their smarts even with a toilet cleaner...

Having lived in Poland for two years I can safely state that Polish people are not as smart as English or western European people.

I'm half Polish but I'd hazard a guess to say I'm probably smarter than some and I'd even go so far as to say I'm probably smarter than you. Improbable you say? Try me out - I challenge you - you may even learn something. Pick a topic and lets discuss it. If I dont hear back from you we'll all simply assume that you agree with me and you're not up for it.

give a pole a universiry education and he willstill crawl to britain to clean our toilets. education is wasted on the poles

The above assertion and challenge goes to you too my 'learned friend'! I'll go easier on you though as you're just a student. A good student always has capacity to learn!! LOL

English school kids are not dumb. Thats a horrible thing to say. Pitting one nationality of children against each other. Also english kids don't grow up and think 'Oh I'll get a job just because I am English.' They still have to work for it. Why do you hate English children so much?
