Hello flano,
And welcome to the Polish Forum.
I am from Dublin and i live near Krakow in Poland.
Remember that you will probably be going back and forth, so you really only need the essentials, for the kids especially.
Have you thought about driving over? getting a van might be an option.
If you do choose this, i would recommend driving in the summer as I am sure you are aware there is a lot of snow in winter.

I have some good mates who are Flanagans, maybe they're relations of yours :)

Take care

Flano,

Not exact Dublin, but I moved all of the contents of a 2bed apartment in London to Krakow area on the cheap 2 years ago. This was door-to-door service for everything from the sofa to the kids clothes for about £400.

I found the company through a local Polish mechanic. He had a few Polish couriers that shipped cars and heavy goods back and forth between Poland and UK and often went back empty to Poland. We used these guys: bluefenix.co.uk

You may want to see if they have any contacts in Dublin. Otherwise, I suggest just trying a local Polish travel agency in Dublin, as they will typically have arrangements for shipping parcels back "home".

Jesus, if I could find a quote for less than 800 pounds from Aberdeen to Poland, I'd be exceptionally happy...

Two choices:

1) Go to the local Polish shops and ask for the numbers of the people who deliver their stock. Nine times out of ten those vans will be going back to Poland empty.

2) Get a sh--load of insurance. Go away for the weekend. Get a mate to burgle your house. Split proceeds of selling everything 50/50 with mate. Claim on insurance. Move. Buy new stuff here.

Hi Flano
I have moved not long ago from London to Poland. I used Polish company based in London so it was easy, but I guess they working in Ireland as well. If you want contact them check London Man and Van. I can recommend them.

Regards,
Maciej
