was it fun ShelleyS? would be good for the roads here in Wroclaw...not..

It was a blast, quite the little head turner (we had a ghetto blaster in the car, I will add here I was only 17 at the time).... ;-) As for driving in Wraclaw...maybe not...

Was it the Bubble Car

No again i,m afraid..the bubble car was yet another way to get the world mobile after the war when nobody had any money , and metal was in short supply....The most well known of the bubble cars were made by Heinkel and Messerschmitt , yes the same peeps that made the German fighters of the second war....The Heinkel trapped many a new owner in their garages the first time they drove it....into the garage at home...up to the wall...then you discover that first of all the door of your new machine is at the front..and opens forward...the second thing you discover is...it does not have a reverse gear...ooopsss.....

They also made a four-wheel version called the Reliant Kitten.

I've never driven either, but always thought they were quite cute. Top Gear made a Reliant Robin into a rocket which crashed in spectacular fashion.

Never understood the Robin Reliant/Reliant Robin mix-up, but I think they also had the nickname of a "Plastic Pig".

My brother had one of these as his first car, he had to take his wife int he car everywhere with him because when he turned a corner it would fall over if not properly balanced.

I have grim memories of sliding down the road upside down in one of these contraptions.....

Wicked car, lol.
NOT.

Not a great space shuttle though, as top gear presenters discovered.

Apart from a few old farts , most people i knew that had one turned the thing upside down at some point....They were very popular among my biker friends because you could drive them on a motorcycle licence ,and you could be warm and dry in the winter...Driven with a bit of enthusiasm , they were very easy to turn over , i was in two that ended up on their backs , thankfully without serious injury....
