I am British and proud of it! Many Polish people come here so that they can provide a "better life" for their family. If we are stupid enough to let them come here then we should be blaming the government not the people who are taking advantage of our open-door policy.

I agree. You are able to distinguish between the government policies vs. blaming the immigrant.

I find that some posters on PF keep forgetting about it.

Another good reason for coming to Poland: you can take their jobs and their women!

I am quite happy to let immigrants into England, especially Europeans. I have benefited since childhood from the freedom to travel and work abroad and to deny others the life changing experiences I have had would be wrong as well as hypocritical.

I remember my childhood neighbours had an open door policy - push and walk in - all welcome.... 24/7 the front door was open and tea bags by the kettle. South London. Unusual. The understanding was simple - you were welcome until you stepped out of line and misbehaved. Then somebody would take you to the door and show you the way out.

If somebody opens the door to you and welcomes you in, dont abuse their hospitality. If you do, there are plenty who will give you the boot up the arse you deserve. And plenty more happy to trample over you as they walk out

I see what englander is saying. It is like a contract, you should know what you are getting yourself into. You win no friends by dissing everything.

Smart statement Seanus. I hope you feel the same way when it comes to Americans :-)

True, I am always puzzled by people who blame others for doing exactly what they would do in the same situation.

As for immigration, this is the United States of Europe, we are too far gone for that to change. I for one am happy, in a few years time I will be travelling to Eastern europe for a better standard of living (as per Sokrates Nostradamus like vision).
