They change it so often im not quite sure, generally out of the towns its 90 kmh, although the speedometer in my car is in mph.

They changed speed limit from 60 to 50 km/h in built-up areas a long time ago.
Outside built-up areas - 90 km/h (unless otherwise stated on traffic signs).
You're a bit OTT in your criticism here.

0:33, 0:41 - speed limit 70 km/h

High speeds are ok for a car built to handle them because they can maneuver, decelerate or stop at rate other cars can't:

this seems to be the prevailing (false) logic used to justify going faster (sometimes much) than the speed limits posted. Just one problem, other drivers (traffic) cyclists and pedestrians. When you speed you cut down on everyone else's ability to react to your actions, margins of error become reduced to unsafe levels.

Why some people are so unable to use their imaginations to reach this conclusion really speaks volumes about them. It's like a trucker assuming every other driver has the capabilities (protection, and perspective) he enjoys and then justifies whatever he does that way.

Grow up boys, or find a sport, but fcuking around on the roads is a good way to shorten someone's life, not necessarily yours.

FFS - SPEED KILLS! doesnt matter what car they drive!!! People who drive fast or drink drive shouldn't be allowed on the roads again after their first offence because these bast*rds never learn!

Speed kills is one of the worst defended arguments of all time. Speed has to be combined with another factor ie Incompetence, weather conditions, poor mechanical condition etc, I could go on forever...

When you talk about speed what speed are you thinking about? 3mph, 20mph, 2000 mph?

If speed was really that dangerous then surely flying would be the most dangerous mode of transport when in fact its the safest.

Speed and stupidity kill but speed alone doesn't

As for drink drivers I agree totally and Think that breath test immobilisers should be fitted to all vehicles.

Just in case you were misinformed the term "yankee" or "yank" is not offensive to us.

Try something like "poopy head" or "imperialist"...more OOMPH.

lol @ poopy head..

Nice one WB.
There is always a lot of talk on this forum about Polish driving and conditions, so now you can see it for yourselves.

I just drove 14 hours through Poland yesterday. I often drive to Lithuania and next time I will record some of the more dangerous driving by those I share the roads with, if I may add to your thread WB?.

There is a huge difference between roads in certain areas of Poland. The North East being of the poorest conditions.
One of the most dangerous things I find here is that very often there are no pedestrian bridges or tunnels.

The Autobhan is fantastic. People in Germany are the best drivers in my opinion.
They have complete curtsy for other drivers.
I have only driven through Germany once.

This thread should get interesting in the snow, especially for some of the people reading who do not know what a lot of snow looks like.

I just want to show you some thing interesting.
I went on this "Crazy Tours" in Krakow, it is great craic and the cars are

Although I despise poor driving, I have nothing against fast driving if its done in a safe manner. Driving at 150 mph in light traffic on an autobahn is perfectly acceptable and perfectly safe providing the car is up to the job and the driver uses a little common sense. German drivers are used to cars flying past them at twice the speed they are doing so they drive accordingly.

Its not just your wife who tells you to slow down..... My ex used to tell me off for doing 70 mph on the motorway repeatedly and punch me in the head at random intervals, Hence the EX.

The filming might be classed as dangerous but it didn't seem to have an adverse effect on his driving really.

I can't wait for the snow driving, Might have to invest in a cheap subaru to enjoy the snows full potential.

WB, speeding is speeding. At nearly twice the posted speed limit your post is a kind of "look ma'! I have an expensive car and I am capable of pressing the speed pedal really hard".

C'mon WB, you must be worth more than that.

Btw. in Ontario, speeding by 50 km/h (or more) get your car impounded right on the spot, regardless of the price and technical specs of the vehicle.

It is a bit of a bragging post but still, its entertaining If everything on the internet was boring then we would all be sat in the office doing work *shudders at the thought*

You don't need an expensive car to drive fast, £500 gets you over 200 bhp and a top speed of 155 mph,

It was the passenger filming, isn't it? that's what it looks like.

Wait till i get my Porsche 911.

Now you're just trying to wind people up, maybe they deserve it or maybe we should all drive at 50Km/h like in Canada?

Is that true z_darius? it sounds ridiculously slow, it must be through estates or something? or outside schools?

What's the point?

You can make yourself look like an adolescent, and risk the lives of others driving a cheap ford.

Yeah but its so much better when done in style......

Can this thread be changed to "winding up the bearded vegetarians who don't like speed thread"?

Very true and no matter where you drive, school zone, freeway or farmland.

The law was introduced less than a year ago as a response to an epidemic of street racing accidents. Driving at >=50km/h here is now considered speed racing and the impounded car is just on of the troubles for the driver.

In fact, last month two Ontario cops were caught and their police cruisers were impounded. They may have little car loans to pay off. :)

Yeah but its so much better when done in style......

I'm a practical fella. No need for a sledge hammer, unless one is a crude ;)

50 Km/H is not speed racing.
Am I missing something here? this sounds dumb.
Canada is a huge country, how can trucks only go at 50 on the freeway? in fact I would say that is dangerous.
I know people are giving out about speeding here but driving too slow on a motorway is also very dangerous.

The ice road truckers haul atleast that over miles of frozen lakes.

To clarify, exceeding the limit by 50km/h (ie: 150km/h in a 100km/h zone) will result in impound.

then forever would be a very finite period. if you don't understand that in this context "speed" is referring to high speeds then allow me to help you clarify this immediately and in no uncertain terms.

"Incompetence" what do you mean by that? what a horribly defended argument that is. Anyone can be deemed incompetent if the other drivers are going fast enough. It's not everyone else's job to adapt to moron drivers and if they misjudge the speed of a vehicle going waaay over the speed limit, is that incompetence? Excessive speeding should also be considered witin the context of road conditions, weather conditions, traffic conditions, I could go on forever...

No, that would be suicide.

I wonder if anybody can guess this historic little town near the Sudetan mountains. There is a clue in the video.

Polanica Zdrój ?
I don't think anyone was significantly exceeding speed there (except of you, of course :).
Besides you left these passers-by alive, softie.
