Snowboarding in Poland

Anyone ever been to Janskie £aźnie? It's part of the Krkonose boarding the Czech rep and PL.

No, but I was at Spindleruv Mlyn in September - unfortunatly did no make it to the Polish side of the Krkonose (though I did walk along the border when hiking up Snezka!) There were a lot of ski runs and mountain cafes in the area. It looked good. The locals told me it is quite expensive though as it is very popular with Germans.

The less Germans the better :)

I was on the PL side last year in the Czarna Gora but I'm hearing that the Czech side is better. I'm sure it's way more expensive too. LOL I need to find snow though :) I hear they usually get more there. Thanks for the info.

Fisz,
Do you know any good websites for checking snow reports? I usually use skiclub.co.uk but they dont have any reports for Poland or the Czech Rep.

Perhaps you should invite her to join you on the slopes and check out her tricks :)

That's right!. You will both in Poland at the same time. You should meet on the slopes.

Unfortunately it was unseasonable in PL this january and was unable to snowboard at all :(
Zakopane has barely any snow and the queue to get to the summit takes 1.5 hrs. It will be just as crowded in Feb.

Snowboarding is easy. I gave it up and went back to skiing after an injury.

Sorry, the evidence just doesn't agree. I learnt how to snowboard with linked turns within 4 hours. Skiing took a week at least and many more weeks since to try and get a reasonable standard.

Last month we took a complete novice to the Three Valleys and he had one lesson. In a few days he was a reasonable compentant boarder

Hire a board book some lessons. Get some padded trousers (for your arse/bum) and wrist guards.

Thats because after 12years, you can Ski. With boarding you will have to make an effort (and get a bit wet, tired and painful)

It's really painful to learn by yourself, but tons of fun once you get the hang of it. It's good to learn both also. Some powder days can be awesome on a board.
