I Plan to visit Poland this new year / I am asking what part of the country would be best as a first Timer / I am used to travel , but for some reason I cannot get a fix on Poland ! thanks in advance , Fred
First time in Poland. What part of the country to see?
Many people can not "fix" on Poland because they know so little about it or are just 30 years behind reality. Go South to the the mountains and and go north to the The Baltic Sea. You'll be impressed. Of course, if you drive in between you'll be impressed as well as in "discovery' mode.
Do you want bright lights , disco,s resteraunts , and top hotels , or a taste of rural Poland..? Give us a clue what you want and we can advise better....
I think he should see it all. The new and the old.
Seeing a cow grazing on the side of a road is a good "old time" kick for me.

I like night life , great hotels , looking for the best the country has to offer ! Then as I meet people I can expand on the info , but that is where I like to start when I travel .
Maybe head for the tri city area...then head into the wilderness from there....
You're gonna land in Warsaw, I suppose. Start there. It has plenty of of night life. Then, get to Wroclaw! It is a city of young, college people and they know how to party.
Wildrover I see you ride motorcycles , do they rent Harleys and where ? Thanks Eurola for the info .
you ride motorcycles
Not just a Motorcycle...but a Harley no less....There is a Harley dealer in Poznan , one in Warsaw , and i am pretty sure there is one in Gdansk....I can find out if they hire out bikes if you want...The riding season starts about march over here...unless you are like me and want to get out as soon as the snow melts...
yes I ride in the winter ,I use electric liners and electric gloves , sort of like riding in a car very warm .I just came back from Las Vegas they have a great Harley dealer , great rides to thier state parks also Hover Dam etc .
Alright boys, you just get on the bikes and start exploring. But, you have to wait until spring! However, the life goes on in the winter too, so Maluch should do!
Renting one is an option...I guess. At least you have a roof over your head.
