Can you please send me recommendations for a place to stay for a night in Bialystok. Interested in less than 4 stars better than a hostel.

Also will be spending a day at the Bialaweilska (sorry for the spelling) Forest (the one with the buffalo. After that we will drive to Kazimierez. I think it is about 4 hours so I am thinking of stopping for the night somewhere in between. Any recommendations for that as well?

Thanks!

If you want to stop 1/2 way then stop in Lublin, but I dont see why you would want to as I drive to Bialystok and back to Pulawy, which 15 klms from Kazimierez quite often and its not that far. Anyway here are some sites in Lublin. hotels.poland.com/hotels-lublin.php

You are wrong. Białystok is something like 300 km away. Something between would be Siedlce or Biała Podlaska.

Some hotels:

Siedlce

Biała Podlaska

Bialowieska Forest (the one with the buffalo

it's the European bison (żubr), not buffalo, and be careful, my friend's teacher who once went to Puszcza Białowieska thought she was seeing a dummy, started approaching it to find it out - to her horror - that it was real :)

those beasts use to stand/lie without moving for long time like they were dead

Merged: Car parking in Bialystok.

I have a friend coming over from Sweden for a week or so to visit me in Bialystok, he`ll be driving down in his own car, an Audi S4 and was wondering if it is safe to park outside on the street during the night. Have heard rumours about expensive cars being ripped for parts on the streets.

Any advice?

We always used to park our rental cars in a guarded parking lot at night (2001 & 2005). From what I understand, it may be getting better. We stayed in the Zielona Gorska area of Bialystok. For what you pay for parking, it may be worth a little peace of mind.
